Dixie Chicks Watch: Natalie Maines – “I Don’t Feel He (President Bush) Is Owed Any Respect Whatsoever.”

FoxNews.com: Dixie Chicks’ Maines Says U.S. President Owed ‘No Respect Whatsoever’

The Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines apologized for disrespecting President George W. Bush during a London concert in 2003. But now, she’s taking it back.

“I don’t feel that way anymore,” she told Time magazine for its issue hitting newsstands Monday. “I don’t feel he is owed any respect whatsoever.”

As war in Iraq loomed in 2003, Maines told the London audience: “Just so you know, we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.”

The Chicks new album is due out Tuesday and already the singles are not doing very well in play or sales.

Could this be a publicity STUNT to boost controversy/notice for the band.

Probably.

Will it be successful?

NOPE.

Natalie Maines should probably learn from Laura Ingraham: Shut Up and Sing.

One of the most amusing lines of the Time article was the statement that the Chicks’
“read newspapers” and that their positions are well supported by their knowledge
of current events. I’m so sure. I kept searching my mind for the “shill” word, so
I’m glad you thought of it. When I was a child, Time was a respected newsmagazine. Now
it’s just People with more pretentious writing. Thankfully, my daughter tells me the
Chicks have been over for a long, long time.
