Republican Party Leaders: Thieves Who Need to Be Locked Up

Judge Greg Mathis, the star of the syndicated television program “The Judge Mathis Show”, has labelled Republican Leaders as “thieves” who “need to be locked up” for stealing the past two presidential elections and presiding over federal budget deficits and the war in Iraq.

“They all need to be locked up because they are all criminals and they are all thieves,” Judge Mathis said.

Mathis made his remarks to an enthusiastic crowd assembled in Atlanta to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Participants are launching a two-year campaign to extend and strengthen key aspects of the act when it expires in 2007.

“It is indeed criminal to steal an election and within two years run up a federal deficit of half-a-trillion dollars, send our young people over to Iraq to die for an unjust war. What they are doing is criminal,” Mathis said to loud cheers.

The march was sponsored by the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition and included leaders from the National Urban League, The Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the NAACP, and the AFL-CIO.

The judge has a remarkable story.

“I was kicked out of five schools, and, at age 17, I was into drugs and later dropped out of high school,” said 36th District Court Judge Greg Mathis, keynote speaker at PUSH’s Youth Empowerment Luncheon and Rally in Cobo Center. “At one time a judge gave me two choices: Go to jail or complete my GED. I took the alternative.”

Flap suggests the good judge continue his good works in inner city Detroit and with the African-American community.

But, don’t patronize the American public, judge, because indeed you look like a FOOL.

    You are NOT Howard Dean.

Protesting Soldier Mom: So, What’s the Story?

WE have all seen the mother of the slain Unites States soldier waiting to see her President. Waiting along the roadside in Crawford, Texas to see the President to ask why her son was sacrificed for mistaken policies.

Drudge has the TRUE story PROTESTING SOLDIER MOM CHANGED STORY ON BUSH not the one portrayed by the Leftie MSM.

The mother of a fallen U.S. soldier who is holding a roadside peace vigil near President Bush’s ranch — has dramatically changed her account about what happened when she met the commander-in-chief last summer!

Cindy Sheehan, 48, of Vacaville, Calif., who last year praised Bush for bringing her family the “gift of happiness,” took to the nation’s TV outlets this weekend to declare how Bush “killed an indispensable part of our family and humanity.

Why the SWITCH and what is the FLAP here?

    CINDY 2004

THE REPORTER of Vacaville, CA published an account of Cindy Sheehan’s visit with the president at Fort Lewis near Seattle on June 24, 2004:

“‘I now know he’s sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis,’ Cindy said after their meeting. ‘I know he’s sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he’s a man of faith.’

“The meeting didn’t last long, but in their time with Bush, Cindy spoke about Casey and asked the president to make her son’s sacrifice count for something. They also spoke of their faith.

“The trip had one benefit that none of the Sheehans expected.

“For a moment, life returned to the way it was before Casey died. They laughed, joked and bickered playfully as they briefly toured Seattle.

For the first time in 11 weeks, they felt whole again.

“‘That was the gift the president gave us, the gift of happiness, of being together,’ Cindy said.”

    CINDY 2005

Sheehan’s current comments are a striking departure.

She vowed on Sunday to continue her protest until she can personally ask Bush: “Why did you kill my son?”

In an interview on CNN, she claimed Bush “acted like it was party” when she met him last year.

“It was — you know, there was a lot of things said. We wanted to use the time for him to know that he killed an indispensable part of our family and humanity. And we wanted him to look at the pictures of Casey.

“He wouldn’t look at the pictures of Casey. He didn’t even know Casey’s name. He came in the room and the very first thing he said is, ‘So who are we honoring here?’ He didn’t even know Casey’s name. He didn’t want to hear it. He didn’t want to hear anything about Casey. He wouldn’t even call him ‘him’ or ‘he.’ He called him ‘your loved one.’

Every time we tried to talk about Casey and how much we missed him, he would change the subject. And he acted like it was a party.

    BLITZER: Like a party? I mean…

SHEEHAN: Yes, he came in very jovial, and like we should be happy that he, our son, died for his misguided policies. He didn’t even pretend like somebody…

    END

On her current media tour, Sheehan has not been asked to explain her twist on Bush; from praise to damnation!

This story is sad enough without the MSM spin.

Does this story have any newsworthiness under the circumstances?

Or….. is the MSM just highlighting her conflict with Bush policy with a NEGATIVE PERSONAL SPIN?

Eric Hogue has LA Times Leaves Readers Short

In the Sacramento Bee, we were told of the mother’s visit by a few staff members, and her visit with the President earlier this year.

Then there is the LA Times article today…

The Associate Press, and the Sacramento Bee have reported that the President has already met with Mrs.. Sheehan. Actually, Mrs.. Sheehan has been quoted as to saying that the visit with the President, earlier this year, was offensive…

The president’s comments that her son and other soldiers had died for a good cause angered rather than consoled her, Sheehan said Saturday.

He “was supposed to express his condolences. He said a lot of hurtful things to my family and we felt worse after talking to him,” she said. “I don’t know why I want to repeat (meeting him). But now that I’m thinking more clearly, I think it’s important that … he knows that he can’t use my son’s name to condone the killing anymore.”

Since her son’s death on April 4, 2004, Sheehan has devoted herself to protesting the war and the Bush administration.

Flap thinks her story is tragic and the media should leave her alone.

Air America Radio Scandel: Payroll Checks Delayed

The Radio Equalizer has A Close Call.

Just how bad are workplace conditions for Air America staffers?

Perhaps far worse than we’d previously thought.

It’s bad enough the company is generating fresh bad publicity almost daily, over the diverted $875,000 in taxpayer funds intended for a Bronx-based community service organization.

Now, to make matters worse, an internal memo obtained by the Radio Equalizer indicates Air America Radio employees faced late paychecks just over a week ago.

They were apparently stunned to receive a last-minute notice sent at 5:09pm Thursday, July 28th, indicating direct deposits would not be made Friday, as expected.

Written by company Vice President/Finance Sinohe Terrero (this article confims Terrero’s corporate role), it inferred the payroll processing company was to blame:

We have been advised by ADP that Direct Deposit will probably not post until Monday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cost (sic). If you have any questions please feel free to call me.

    Sinohe Terrero

    VP Finance

Perhaps Al Franken and some of the highly paid hosts should defer some of their salaries so Air America can make its payroll for its staff.

And how will they make interest free payments to Gloria Wise?

    Is bankruptcy far away?

The blogosphere is abuzz with this story.

Camedwards has Air America Payroll Problems?

Brian Maloney reports Air America’s recent payroll problems.

This isn’t necessarily a sign of a company in financial trouble, but considering the staff has already had to work without paychecks for several weeks back in 2004, and Lizz Winstead has recently sued Air America.

Winstead claims that she’s owed $200,000 of her $250,00 annual salary, plus $83,333 in severance pay, $14,423.08 in unused vacation time and $5,960.55 that she says the network pocketed from her on-air ads for the Vermont Teddy Bear Company.

Again, I don’t know that this is indicative of the financial status of Air America, but if I were a liberal talk show host there’s no way I could work there. Not when Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller seem to be doing all right for themselves without being on the payroll of the network.

Air America Radio Scandel: New York Times Where Are You?

No MSM media treatment of this story yet.

Flap even noted last week, Air America Scandel: No MSM Coverage …..YET.

This non-coverage is being noticed throughout the blogosphere:

Michelle Malkin has AIR ENRON: ELITE MEDIA BLACKOUT CONTD.

The New York Times still hasn’t covered the burgeoning Air Enron financial mess. And the NY Times ombudsman had nothing to say on Sunday:

The public editor’s column will return next week.

But the Times’ online “Readers’ Forum on the Public Editor” does include a good post about the newspaper’s failure to cover the Air America/Gloria Wise investigations. Snippet:

Tell me oh Public Editor dear, are the people of the City and State of New York not (part) of the “public” the *NY* Times reports on and circulates to?

You cannot or will not even report on Air America, but going after the defenseless Roberts kids? Why that’s perfectly fine!

Remind me again what the point behind your office is, please?

Chris Muir at Day By Day:

Captain Ed has Air America: Compare The Scandals.

Today we will hold a contest to see how the Exempt Media coverage of Air America’s funding scandals holds up against that of another stoy of financial shenanigans. Let’s take a look at how many articles the Exempt Media has written about the Air America-Gloria Wise misappropriation of public funds, as opposed to the Martha Stewart insider-trading case — in the past 30 days:

    Media outlet…..AA/GW……Martha
    NY Times……….0………..16*
    Wash Post………0……….10 (14 day search)
    LA Times……….0……….3
    CBS News……….0……….1
    ABC News……….0………4

The Exempt Media covered for Eason Jordan for nine days. They’ve protected Air America for almost two weeks now.

New York Times where are you?
