The ASSociated Press has Chirac Vows Arrests and Trials in Riots

French President Jacques Chirac on Sunday promised arrests, trials and punishment for those sowing “violence or fear” across France – as the urban unrest that has triggered attacks on vehicles, nursery schools and other targets reached central Paris.

Youths set ablaze nearly 1,300 vehicles and torched businesses, schools and symbols of French authority, including post offices and provincial police stations, late Saturday and early Sunday.

Police clashed with rioters south of the capital Sunday night, the 11th consecutive night of unrest. About 10 police were injured, two seriously, in Grigny in the Essonne region, the Interior Ministry said. LCI television reported that shots from a pellet gun were fired.

Chirac’s words of justice are LATE and WEAK.

Will the Arab and North African Gang Bangers succeed in DISSING French authority and rule of law?

Arsonists burned 1,295 vehicles nationwide overnight Saturday-Sunday – sharply up from 897 the night before, national police spokesman Patrick Hamon said, adding that police made 349 arrests nationwide.

Stay tuned…… it does not appear the FIRES of France will subside soon.

France Riot Watch: Chirac FINALLY Addresses Nation

French President Jacques Chirac addresses the nation at the Elysee Palace in Paris Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005. Chirac said restoring security and public order was an ‘absolute priority’ after urban violence intensified and spread across France _ with arsonists striking from the Mediterranean to the German border and into central Paris for the first time.

The ASSociated Press has Chirac Vows Arrests and Trials in Riots

French President Jacques Chirac on Sunday promised arrests, trials and punishment for those sowing “violence or fear” across France — as the urban unrest that has triggered attacks on vehicles, nursery schools and other targets reached central Paris.

ouths set ablaze nearly 1,300 vehicles and torched businesses, schools and symbols of French authority, including post offices and provincial police stations, late Saturday and early Sunday.

Police clashed with rioters south of the capital Sunday night, the 11th consecutive night of unrest. About 10 police were injured, two seriously, in Grigny in the Essonne region, the Interior Ministry said. LCI television reported that shots from a pellet gun were fired.

The violence took another alarming turn Saturday night with attacks in the well-guarded French capital. Police said 35 cars were torched, most on the city’s northern and southern edges.

In central Paris, gasoline bombs damaged three cars near Place de la Republique. Residents reported a loud explosion and flames.

“We were very afraid,” said Annie Partouche, 55, who watched the cars burning from her apartment window. “We were afraid to leave the building.”

Chirac spoke after a security meeting of his top ministers.

“The law must have the last word,” Chirac said in his first public address on the violence. Those sowing “violence or fear” will be “arrested, judged and punished.”

    This is Chirac’s Katrina.

A late, WEAK and inefffective response of security forces.

The French president had faced criticism from opposition politicians for not publicly speaking about France’s worst civil unrest in more than a decade. His only previous comments came through a spokesman.

From an outburst of anger in suburban Paris housing projects, the violence has fanned out into a nationwide show of disdain for French authority from youths and minorities, most French-born children of Arab and black Africans angered by years of unequal opportunities.

Will Chirac’s government survive this inaction and their ineffective ability to surpress the violence?

    Stay tuned…..

France Riot Watch: BOMB Manufacturing Factory Discovered in Paris

The wreckage of a car used by rioters to break through the glass door of a McDonald fast food restaurant lies amid the rubble of the restaurant in Corbeil-Essonnes, south of Paris, Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005. Spreading urban unrest – with arson attacks on vehicles, nursery schools and other targets in France from the Mediterranean to the German border – for the first time reached central Paris, where police said Sunday that 28 cars were burned overnight.

The ASSociated Press has Police Find Bomb-Making Factory in Paris

Ten nights of urban unrest that brought thousands of arson attacks on cars, nursery schools and other targets from the Mediterranean to the German border reached Paris where at least 28 cars were burned overnight in the French capital, government officials said Sunday.

Police found a gasoline bomb-making factory in a southern suburb of the city, with more than 100 bottles, gallons of fuel and hoods for hiding rioters’ faces, a senior Justice Ministry official said Sunday.

Six youths, all aged under 18, were arrested in the raid Saturday night on a building in Evry south of Paris where the gasoline bombs were being put together, Jean-Marie Huet, the ministry’s director of criminal affairs and pardons, told The Associated Press.

The discovery, Huet said, shows that gasoline bombs being used by rioters “are not being improvised by kids in their bathrooms.”

Sounds like the Islamic insurgency in Iraq……

    Stay tuned…….

Urban unrest flared across France, with police saying Sunday that violence had hit a new peak as angry youths torched more than 900 cars overnight, attacked symbols of French authority and unrest reached central Paris for the first time.

The Sunday Oregonian has Meth bill suffers political setback

Congress After anti-meth legislation is slashed from a major bill, leaders search for another vehicle for passage

A U.S. Senate plan to impose nationwide regulations on cold medicines containing pseudoephedrine stalled Friday when a House-Senate panel struck the proposal from a spending bill.

Some House members balked at terms of the bill, citing concerns for its impact on pharmacies and other retailers. The retail sales restrictions were contained in a larger appropriations bill that pays for State, Justice, Commerce and other departments.

Supporters of the pseudoephedrine legislation remained hopeful Friday that a compromise still could be reached. The retail sales restrictions could then be merged with a House bill targeting the international trade of the chemical.

Ok, who is getting paid off by the pharmaceutical manufacturers of pseudoephedrine?

House members should be aware that voters and political contributors outside their congressional districts are WATCHING.

Stop MILKING this bill and PASS it!
