CIA Leak Case Watch: Time Reporter, Viveca Novak, Asked to Testify

    Viveca Novak

The New York Times has Another Time Reporter Is Asked to Testify in Leak Case

A second reporter for Time magazine has been asked to testify under oath in the C.I.A. leak case, about conversations she had in 2004 with a lawyer for Karl Rove, the senior White House adviser, the magazine reported on Sunday.

The reporter, Viveca Novak, who has written about the leak investigation, has been asked to testify by the special counsel in the case, Patrick J. Fitzgerald, about her conversations with Robert D. Luskin, a lawyer for Mr. Rove, the magazine said.

Time magazine did not make clear what information the prosecutor hoped to obtain from Ms. Novak, whose name has not previously surfaced in the case. She has contributed to articles in which Mr. Luskin was quoted.

Another Time reporter, Matthew Cooper, testified this summer about a July 2003 conversation he had with Mr. Rove, but only after the magazine waged a lengthy legal battle.

Time disclosed the prosecutor’s request in a two-paragraph article published on Sunday, reporting that Ms. Novak had been asked to discuss conversations she had with Mr. Luskin, starting in May 2004, when she was covering the investigation.

The article said Ms. Novak was cooperating with the inquiry. It is not known when she will testify; she has not been asked to appear before the grand jury but will instead give a deposition, said Ty Trippet, a Time spokesman.

    Another fishing expedition by Fitzpatrick.

Damn, it has been over two years, millions of taxpayer dollars and a second Grand Jury.

    And one WEAK indictment.

Time for Fitzpatrick to return to Chicago.

Iraq War Watch: CNN MARKS CHENEY: NETWORK FLASHES ‘X’ OVER VP’S FACE DURING LIVE SPEECH Part Three

Matt Drudge has CNN OPERATOR FIRED AFTER SUGGESTING ‘X’ OVER CHENEY WAS ‘FREE SPEECH’

A CNN switchboard operator was fired over the holiday — after the operator claimed the ‘X’ placed over Vice President’s Dick Cheney’s face was “free speech!”

“We did it just to make a point. Tell them to stop lying, Bush and Cheney,” the CNN operator said to a caller. “Bring our soldiers home.”

The caller initially phoned the network to complain about the all-news channel flashing an “X’ over Cheney as he gave an address live from Washington.

“Was it not freedom of speech? Yes or No?”
    the CNN operator explained.

“If you don’t like it, don’t watch.”

And what does the telephone operator know more than the CNN executives who claim a “computer glitch or bug?”

Laurie Goldberg, Senior Vice President for Public Relations with CNN, said in a release:

“A Turner switchboard operator was fired today after we were alerted to a conversation the operator had with a caller in which the operator lost his temper and expressed his personal views — behavior that was totally inappropriate. His comments did not reflect the views of CNN. We are reaching out to the caller and expressing our deep regret to her and apologizing that she did not get the courtesy entitled to her. ”

In other words, PLEASE WATCH CNN.

When will the REAL STORY be revealed?

Iraq War Watch: White House Plan If Saddam Found “NOT GUILTY”

Saddam Hussein speaks to the Presiding Judge Rizgur Ameen Hana Al-Saedi as his trial begins in a heavily fortified courthouse in Baghdad’s Green Zone in this October 19, 2005 file photo. A U.S. civil rights lawyer and a Qatar former justice minister said on Sunday they were heading to Baghdad to help defend Saddam Hussein.

Matt Drudge has WHITE HOUSE PLAN IF SADDAM FOUND ‘NOT GUILTY’

Senior Bush administration officials have considered the unthinkable: What if Saddam Hussein is found not guilty in his trial?

“There will be more charges filed against him, and more charges after that, if needed… he has committed tremendous crimes,” a top Bush source explained last week from Washington.

Saddam and seven of his former henchmen currently face charges of crimes against humanity over a 1982 massacre of Shiite villagers.

But, we all recognize the legal process is not always JUST. And results not always predictable – despite the evidence.

    And……..

A defiant Saddam has refused to recognize the court and has declared himself president of Iraq.

Prosecutors hope to win a conviction by using videotape of Saddam issuing assignation orders.

Meanwhile, Iraqi police say they have captured an Al-Qaeda cell plotting to kill the chief judge in charge of building the case.

The trial resumes Monday after a five-week recess.

After all, OJ and Robert Blake were acquitted.

    And ………

Some think Saddam has immunity since he continues to claim to be the President of Iraq.

Get ready for the circus…. with former Attorney General Ramsey Clark too.
