Arnold Schwarzenegger Watch: Arnold May Have Seen Austria for the Last Time
Pat Buchanan writing in Human Events has Arnold’s Headaches Have Just Begun
But Arnold’s headaches may have just begun. Scheduled for execution on Jan. 17 is Clarence Ray Allen. In 1980, Clarence strangled a 17-year-old girl for telling on him for burglarizing a store. Sent to Folsom Prison for life, Allen ordered the murder of all eight witnesses against him. But his hit man, while killing one of the witnesses, also murdered two teenage bystanders.
Allen would seem unlikely to command much sympathy. The problem for The Terminator is that Allen is 75, blind and a diabetic, has just suffered a heart attack and needs open-heart surgery. As he can’t walk, they will have to wheel Clarence up to the gurney. And after him, five more executions are scheduled for 2006.
Arnold may have seen Austria for the last time.
Indeed Schwarzenegger may have……..

Iran Nuclear Watch: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad – “Israel Completed Holocaust”
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attends a conference in Tehran entitled ‘The World without Zionism,’ October 2005. Ahmadinejad issued a new diatribe against archfoe Israel, saying that the Jewish state was ‘anti-Islamic in nature’ and the result of European ‘ethnic cleansing.
The ASSociated Press has Iran President: Israel Completed Holocaust
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran’s hard-line president who has said the Holocaust was a myth, now has charged that European countries sought to complete the genocide by establishing a Jewish state in the midst of Muslim countries.
“Don’t you think that continuation of genocide by expelling Jews from Europe was one of their aims in creating a regime of occupiers of Al-Quds (Jerusalem)?” the official Islamic Republic News agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying Sunday. “Isn’t that an important question?”
Ahmadinejad said Europeans had decided to create a “Jewish camp” as the best means for ridding the continent of Jews. He said the camp,
Israel, now enjoyed support from the United States and Europe in the slaughter of Muslims. In October, Ahmadinejad called for Israel to be “wiped off the map.”
Will the United States and Israel wait for the United Nations Security Council to rein in this anti-semitic theocrat’s nuclear program?
Last month, Ahmadinejad said the Holocaust, in which Nazi Germany killed six million Jews, was a myth. After global outrage over the comments, he said that Europeans, if they insist the Holocaust occurred, should cede some of their territory for a Jewish state.
He said anti-Semitism had a long history in Europe, while Jews had lived peacefully among Muslims for centuries.
His remarks have been condemned by the White House, Israel, Germany, France and the European Commission, among others. Germany has said the remarks would affect negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.
Why has President Bush been relatively quiet while the Iranians go about their business of enriching uranium for a weapons program?
The calm before the Winds of War.
Iran’s chief nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani
In nuclear developments:
Iran’s top nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, said the Russian proposal that the two nations enrich uranium in Russian territory could not ignore Iran’s right to carry out enrichment at home.
“It’s not logical for a country to put the fate of its nation at the disposal of another country even if it’s a friend. You can meet part of your fuel needs from abroad,” Larijani said on state-run television late Sunday.
“History and experience show that if you don’t have technology, you will damage your independence,” he said.
Larijani also warned of a “crushing” response if its nuclear and military facilities were attacked by the U.S. or Israel.
“If there is any truth in such talks, Israel will suffer greatly. It’s a very small country within our range,” he said. And that range is made LESS dangerous when Iran develops weapon grade plutonium for nuclear weapons?
Iran said Sunday it has produced equipment for separating uranium from its ore, a fresh development in Tehran’s drive to control the nuclear-fuel cycle, state television reported Sunday.
The broadcast claimed the “settler-mixer” was a highly effective way to produce uranium, quoting Amir Hossein Farhadi, a researcher for Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization.
“Foreign countries were not ready to sell it to Iran since it could be applicable in the cycle,” Farhadi said.
Flap forsees a military option………

Global War on Terror Watch: Why the NSA Monitors Communications of Al-Qaida
Suspected al-Qaida militant Syrian citizen Loa’i Mohammad Haj Bakr al-Saqa, center, shouts ‘Allahu Akbar,’ Arabic for ‘God is great,’ as he leaves from a courthouse between plainclothes Turkish policemen in Istanbul, Turkey, on this Thursday, Aug. 11, 2005 file photo. The Syrian accused of serving as a key point man between suicide bombers and al-Qaida flew so far beneath the radar that even fellow militants thought he was dead. Loa’i Mohammad Haj Bakr al-Saqa, wanted by Turkey for 2003 bombings in Istanbul that killed 58 people, is said to have eluded intelligence services by using an array of fake IDs, employing aliases even with his al-Qaida contacts and finally faking his death in Fallujah, Iraq, in late 2004.
And the Democrats wonder about the NSA Survelliance Program and the Patriot Act?

NSA Surveillance Leak Case Watch: President Bush Defends NSA Surveillance
President Bush delivers remarks after visiting wounded soldiers at Brooke Army Medical Center, Sunday Jan. 1, 2006, in San Antonio, Texas.
The ASSociated Press has Bush Defends Domestic Spying Program
President Bush on Sunday strongly defended his domestic spying program, saying it’s a limited initiative that tracks only incoming calls to the United States.
The Quotes:
“It’s seems logical to me that if we know there’s a phone number associated with al-Qaida or an al-Qaida affiliate and they’re making phone calls, it makes sense to find out why.”
“They attacked us before, they’ll attack us again.”
Asked how he responds to Americans worried about violations of their privacy, he responded, “If somebody from al-Qaida is calling you, we’d like to know why.”
“This is a limited program designed to prevent attacks on the United States of America and, I repeat, limited.”
“The NSA program is one that listens to a few numbers called from the outside of the United States of known al-Qaida or affiliated people,” he said, adding that he believes that he is acting within the law.
“The fact that somebody leaked this program causes great harm to the United States,” he said. “There’s an enemy out there.”
The president was asked whether he misled the American people in 2004 when, during an event promoting the Patriot Act, he said that any wiretapping required a court order and that nothing had changed. He made the statement more than two years after he approved the NSA program.
“I was talking about roving wiretaps, I believe, involving the Patriot Act,” Bush said. “This is different from the NSA program.”
The President did a good job responding to the press and outlining this reasonable program.
Flap doubts that Senator Arlen Specter will continue with his call for hearings. The hearings would have to be closed to the public in any case due to the classified nature of the NSA program.
This is a necessary and reasonable LIMITED program to protect Americans from Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations in the Global War on Terror –
WHAT IS SO WRONG?

North Korea Watch: North Koreans Can and Have Made a Few Nuclear Devices
Dr. Siegfried Hecker, a Senior Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, testifies before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC in 2004.
The Sunday Times has North Korea gathers kit for nuclear bombs
NORTH KOREA is working to restart a reactor that would produce enough plutonium to make 10 atomic bombs a year, a leading American nuclear scientist has revealed.
Siegfried Hecker, former director of the US government’s top secret Los Alamos laboratory, also said the North Koreans reprocessed 8,000 fuel rods to make up to 14kg (30lb) of plutonium last summer, despite taking part in six-party talks hosted by China to end their weapons programme.
“They have the plutonium,†he said. “We have to assume the North Koreans can and have made a few nuclear devices.â€
Hecker’s revelations were based on information gleaned during two visits to North Korea, the last in August 2005, in which he met physicists and, in a pure moment from spy fiction, was handed a specimen of weapons-grade plutonium, stored in a marmalade jar.
And now the North Koreans are helping the Iranians with their nuclear program. And the Russians are helping Iran with their anti-missile program.
Is there any wonder why there are stories about a United States and/or Israel military attack on Iran?
His findings are being studied with increasing concern in Washington. North Korea further hardened its defiant stance this weekend by ending all United Nations food distribution to its people and by ordering out aid workers, including a British team from the charity Save the Children.
Thousands will be put at risk by the decision. The UN’s World Food Programme had been feeding up to 6.4m of North Korea’s 23m people since the famine of the 1990s.
Diplomats believe the expulsions are part of a clampdown ordered by Kim Jong-il, North Korea’s “Dear Leaderâ€, as he prepares to stand alongside Iran to confront the Americans over their right to have nuclear weapons.
Hecker, who was at Los Alamos from 1973-97, gave his warning at a recent conference in Washington as one of the most authoritative observers of North Korea’s programme.
On his first visit to North Korea in 2004, Hecker was taken to the Yongbyon nuclear research centre to meet its director. His hosts brought a small steel container into the conference, containing a wooden box.
“They slid open the box and inside were two glass jars — two marmalade jars, actually — with screw-on tops,†he said. One contained powder, the other a thin scrap of metal — the “ stuff you would use for the bombsâ€.
“I held the plutonium and it passed the test,†he added. When he told the director it was not very warm, the latter replied: “Well Dr Hecker, that’s because the plutonium 240 content is low, which means that it’s good bomb-grade plutonium.â€
On his second visit, Hecker met the director in Pyongyang, the capital, to learn that while the North Koreans had been negotiating in China, they had also been making up to 14kg of plutonium, taking their total stock to an estimated 43kg, enough for about eight bombs.
Hecker said his main fear is that North Korea’s impoverished regime might sell material to terrorists. “Forty kilograms of plutonium, some number of briefcases anywhere in basements, in one of the 15,000 tunnels in North Korea — nobody will find it,†he said. What worries Flap is that North Korea may sell Iran nuclear material for weapons grade plutonium and Iran fires a Russian made missle at Israel or American troops in Iraq.
Look for an American strike on Iran……
