Iran Nuclear Watch: Suicide Bombers Warn United States and Britain
Iranian students fill in the papers of registration forms indicating their readiness for martyrdom, or to carry out suicide attacks, in Tehran, Iran, Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006. A gathering of Iranians who claim they are dedicated to becoming suicide bombers warned the United States and Britain on Saturday of attacks on coalition military bases in Iraq if there were a strike against Tehran’s nuclear facilities.
ASSociated Press: Bombers Warn U.S. Against Iran Attacks
An Iranian group that claims its members are dedicated to becoming suicide bombers warned the United States and Britain on Saturday that they will strike coalition military bases in Iraq if Tehran’s nuclear facilities are attacked.
Mohammad Ali Samadi, spokesman for Esteshadion, or Martyrdom Seekers, boasted of having hundreds of potential bombers in his talk at a seminar on suicide-bombings tactics at Tehran’s Khajeh Nasir University.
“With more than 1,000 trained martyrdom-seekers, we are ready to attack the American and British sensitive points if they attack Iran’s nuclear facilities,” Samadi said.
“If they strike, we have a lot of volunteers. Their (U.S. and British) sensitive places are quiet close to Iranian borders,” Samadi said.
Samadi reviewed the history of suicide bombing as a weapon, praising it as the most effective Palestinian tactic in their confrontation with Israel.
Are you kidding me?
Flap previously addressed these BLOVIATIONS.
These young men and women are being deluded by a fanatical, maniacal regime of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The organizers showed video clips of suicide attacks against Israelis, including one in the Morag settlement near Rafah in Gaza strip in February 2005. One settler, three Israeli soldiers and the two attackers were killed in the attack.
Hasan Abbasi, a university instructor and former member of the elite Revolutionary Guards, told the audience of about 200 that Iran was not seeking nuclear weapons as claimed by the United States and some of its allies.
“Our martyrdom-seekers are our nuclear weapons,” said Abbasi, the event’s main speaker.
If Iran is NOT seeking nuclear weapons then Iran MUST agree to international inspections and safeguards. The United States does not wish to preclude peaceful nuclear applications but Iran proceeds to enrich weapons grade uranium.
The quotes:
“This is a unique opportunity for me to die for God, next to my brothers in Palestine. That was why I signed up,” said Reza Haghshenas, a 22-year-old electrical engineering student.
A 23-year-old woman student, Maryam Amereh, said: “We are trying to defend Islam. It’s a way to draw the attention of others to our activities.”
But Rahim Hasanlu, a 22-year-old industrial management student, declared himself not interested in joining.
“I just attended to learn what they’re saying, thats all.”
The smart student was the last young man. Let Flap remind the Iranians what the United States will do to their country if they do NOT stand down their nuclear program.

Muhammad Caricature Watch: London Protest of Muhammad Caricatures Draws 15,000
Thousands gather at Trafalgar Square to protest Muhammad cartoons.
ASSociated Press: 15,000 people protest cartoons in UK
More than 15,000 people joined an angry but peaceful protest in central London on Saturday against the Prophet Muhammad cartoons that have infuriated many in the Muslim world.
Buses brought participants from cities around Britain to gather in Trafalgar Square, and they later marched through central London to Hyde Park, from where the crowd began dispersing late in the afternoon.
“Free speech cheap insults,” read some placards. “How dare you insult the blessed Prophet Muhammad?” asked another.
Speakers shouted from the podium and the crowd yelled back as the demonstration grew increasingly angry. Police said about 15,000 people were present, and there were no reports of violence or arrests. Organizers estimated 40,000 people marched.
An orchestrated coordinated event in London. But, who is coordinating these protests across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia?
“Every Muslim understands this basic concept of the centrality in importance of Muhammad to their lives,” said Taji Mustafa, a spokesman for the Muslim Action Committee, which organized the event. “So when he is demonized, the young and old are deeply affected. As long as the abuse is ongoing we will continue to rise up in protest.”
Mustafa said Muslims’ anger had been fueled by several European newspapers’ decisions to reprint the cartoon, which first appeared in a Danish paper in September, and recently by an Italian Cabinet minister’s decision to wear a T-shirt showing the cartoons.
A demonstrator protests against the publication of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad, in Trafalgar Square, London Saturday Feb. 18, 2006. More than 10,000 people joined an angry central London protest Saturday against the Prophet Muhammad cartoons that have infuriated many in the Muslim world.
Quotes from the gaggle of protesters:
“What happened should not have happened,” said Younas Yousas, 33, a protester from east London.
“Their freedom of speech should be restricted because it hurts our religion. At the end of the day everyone needs to respect others’ religions. And we should strive for peace.”
“Europe lacks respect for others,” and “Don’t they teach manners in Denmark?”
Two weeks ago, protesters in London carried signs with extremist slogans including “Europe, you will pay. Your 9/11 is on its way,” and “Behead the one who insults the prophet.”
How do you spell OXYMORON?
This is religious fervor or the craven desire for political/cultural CONTROL.
Flap votes for the latter.
Stay tuned…….

Iran Nuclear Watch: Jacques Chirac Says France’s Stance on Iran Unchanged
Iranian students fill in the papers of registration forms indicating their readiness for martyrdom, or to carry out suicide attacks, in Tehran, Iran, Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006. A gathering of Iranians who claim they are dedicated to becoming suicide bombers warned the United States and Britain on Saturday of attacks on coalition military bases in Iraq if there were a strike against Tehran’s nuclear facilities.
ASSociated Press: Chirac: France’s Stance on Iran Unchanged
French President Jacques Chirac said Saturday only the U.N. nuclear watchdog could draw conclusions about the goal of Iran’s nuclear program, steering clear of his foreign minister’s recent declaration that it is a clandestine weapons project.
Chirac said it was not his role to say whether Iran was secretly making nuclear weapons.
“There are experts who are qualified to speak on the subject, and they are from the International Atomic Energy Agency,” Chirac told a news conference in Bangkok, the first stop on an Asian tour that also takes him to India. “Let’s see what the experts say … we are not going to enter into what-if in this situation.”
French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy on Thursday called Iran’s nuclear activity a “clandestine military nuclear program” and accused Tehran of ignoring the international community’s demand to suspend all nuclear activity.
Sounds like President Chirac is distancing himself from his own Foreign Minister or is it ambiguity for which he strives?
Chirac refused to back Douste-Blazy’s comments and sought to recast them as no different from what France has always said.
“The position of France has absolutely not changed,” Chirac said. “It is a common position that we share with our British and German partners.”
The position of France is irrelevant in any case.
The United States and Israel will carry the burden to end the Iranian nuclear weapons program.
With regards to the “Winds of War” photo above showing Iranian youths applying for martyrdom, it is folly to think that the full force of the United States and Israel, including the use of tactical nuclear weapons would not be used against Iranian military assets. Many of these young people would die before becoming martyrs and suicide bombers.
Iran MUST stand down their nuclear program.

Muhammad Caricature Watch: Nigerian Muslims Protesting Muhammad Caricatures Attack Christians and Burn Churches
A veiled woman supporter of a Pakistani religious party Jamaat-e-Islami raises the holy Quran at a rally to condemn the publication of cartoons of Islamic Prophet Muhammad, in Karachi, Pakistan, Saturday, Feb 18, 2006. Thousands of Pakistani women staged a peaceful rally in the southern city of Karachi to protest the cartoons of Prophet Muhammad and called for those who drew them to be hanged, police said.
Los Angeles Times: Cartoon Protests Leave 15 Dead in Nigeria
Nigerian Muslims protesting caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad attacked Christians and burned churches on Saturday in violence that left at least 15 people dead, police and a resident said.
Troops and police reinforcements have been deployed to restore order in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, where 15 Christian churches were burned, said Nigerian police spokesman Haz Iwendi.
Chima Ezeoke, a Maiduguri resident, said the protesters attacked and looted shops in the city owned by minority Christians, most of them with origins in the country’s south.
“Most of the dead were Christians beaten to death on the streets by the rioters,” Ezeoke said.
Wanton criminal activity including murder in the name of Muhammad? This sounds to Flap to be an “excuse” for criminal behavior.
Women supporters of a Pakistani religious party Jamaat-e-Islami, raise placards reading ‘Muhammad’ as they take part in a rally to condemn the publication of cartoons of Islamic Prophet Muhammad, in Karachi, Pakistan, Saturday, Feb 18, 2006.
Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country of more than 130 million people, is roughly divided between a predominantly Muslim north and a mainly Christian south.
The Nigerian government MUST protect their own people.
These Muhammad caricature protests continue to spin out of control.

Muhammad Caricature Watch: Reforms Minister Roberto Calderoli Wears Muhammad Caricature T-Shirt – Italian Embassy Burned
This image made from television shows scorch marks around a doorway at the Italian consulate, in Benghazi, Libya, Friday, Feb. 17, 2006. Libyans protesting the Prophet Muhammad cartoons set fire to the Italian consulate in Benghazi on Friday and clashed with police in turmoil that left at least nine people dead, an Italian diplomat said.
ASSociated Press: Libya Suspends Official After Deadly Riots
Libya suspended its interior minister Saturday, citing an “excessive use of force” in riots the day before that left at least 10 people dead in the bloodiest protest yet against the Prophet Muhammad cartoons roiling the Muslim world.
The controversy claimed another political casualty in Italy as Reforms Minister Roberto Calderoli offered his resignation after wearing a T-shirt featuring the drawings, a provocative move blamed for Friday’s protests at the Italian consulate in the Libyan city of Benghazi, in which at least 10 people were killed.
And, so, Libya is suspending the official who helped restore law and order after rioters attempted to burn a foreign embassy?
MORONIC…….
This image made from television shows a police officer in front of a burning vehicle near the Italian consulate, in Benghazi, Libya, Friday, Feb. 17, 2006. Libyans protesting the Prophet Muhammad cartoons set fire to the Italian consulate in Benghazi on Friday and clashed with police in turmoil that left at least nine people dead, an Italian diplomat said.
More on the suspension:Libya’s parliamentary secretariat announced the suspension of Interior Minister Nasr al-Mabrouk and said all those involved in Friday’s riots “and the officials responsible for them” should be referred to investigations and to the courts.
“We condemn the excessive use of force and the inappropriate way that went beyond the limits of carrying out the duties of the police,” the secretariat said in a statement.
It also declared Sunday a day of mourning for “our martyr sons.”
Martyrs?
You mean the dumbass demonstrators that attempted to torch the Italian embassy and who rioted over an Italian politican wearing a Muhammad Caricature T-shirt?
Really – how deadly ridiculous can you be?
How do you spell FANATICAL MORON?
More on the Muhammad Caricature T-Shirt FLAP:
The riot appeared to be a reaction to Calderoli’s decision to wear a T-shirt printed with the cartoons. His declaration that he would do so was widely published in Libya.
Calderoli, a member of the anti-immigrant Northern League Party, wore the T-shirt beneath a suit on Friday and showed it off during an appearance on television. Hours later, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi asked for his resignation.
Calderoli said Saturday he had agreed to offer his resignation to stop “the shameful exploitation which in these hours has been directed against me,” the Italian news agency ANSA reported.
There was no demonstration outside the Italian Embassy in Tripoli, a possible indication of greater state control in the capital. Politics is tightly controlled in Libya — a former Italian colony — and open dissent is rare.
This is unbelievable and orchestrated.
Libya and Pakistan need to “crack down” on the Mullah’s who are instigating and ordering people to die.
World events spinning out of control because of cartoons…….

Paul Hackett Watch: The Valentine Days Massacre
Mother Jones: Backroom Battles
Economic sabotage, whisper campaigns, and threats: How the Democrats took Paul Hackett out.Democratic Senate candidate and Marine Corps Major Paul Hackett is accustomed to waging quixotic battles and taking his hits. He just didn’t expect the lowest—and fatal—blows to come from his own party.
In an announcement that stunned many in Washington and even some in his campaign staff, Hackett declared on February 13, 2006, that he was dropping his bid for U.S. Senate in Ohio, ending his 11 month political career. “I made this decision reluctantly, only after repeated requests by party leaders, as well as behind-the-scenes machinations, that were intended to hurt my campaign,†he said, only hinting at what had gone down. The day after his withdrawal from the race, he told me about the backroom battles that forced him out.
Thanks Chuckie Schumer and Harry Reid……… for helping Senator DeWine….
Hackett’s pathetic lament:
“They simply can’t rely on any of the party infrastructure to help them, and they must assume that people at high levels will work against them. These guys,†he says of the party insiders, “view the Senate as a club. They’re not gonna welcome you if one day they turn the key on the clubhouse door and you are sitting there with your feet on the table flippin’ them the middle finger. I understand that from their perspective. It works for them, but not for the rest of us out here.â€
