Ventura County Star: A Ventura County GOP coup?
Rumors abound that there will be a post-primary revolt in the Ventura County Republican Central Committee, with a move afoot to oust five-year party chairwoman Leslie Cornejo as payback for her endorsement of challenger Michael Tenenbaum over 10-term incumbent Elton Gallegly in the 24th Congressional District GOP primary.
The Chairman of the Ventura County Republican Party MUST have the support of the party faithful and the elected members of the party central committee.
By endorsing a candidate against a long-term incumbent and well-liked Congressman is equivalent to sacrilige in GOP politics.
Leslie Cornejo should resign as GOP Ventura County Chairman immediately. If not, then she should be removed at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the county GOP.
