196783825 5e4762f638 o Dentistry Today: Protein coated Dental Implants

MCG: Protein-coated dental implants could improve bone regeneration

Titanium dental implants coated with proteins that induce bone formation may be a key advancement in treating tooth loss due to gum disease, researchers say.

In laboratory tests, Medical College of Georgia researchers applied a protein onto implants that directs endogenous stem cells to become bone-forming cells. The result was a nearly complete regeneration of lost tissue, says Dr. Ulf Wikesjö, a professor of periodontics in MCG’s School of Dentistry.

And hopefully complete and partial dentures will be relegated to dental museums.

196732950 c7bb6f44c5 o Cox & Forkum: Signs of the Times

And who killed American Marines in their own barracks in 1983?

Well, it is the same terrorists that Israel is fighting.  Fancy that…….

Support Israel!

Cox & Forkum: Signs of the Times

From the Arlington National Cemetery: The Bombing of the Marine Barracks, Beirut Lebanon.

On October 23, 1983 at 6:22 a.m., a large delivery truck drove to the Beirut International Airport where the Marine Barracks was located.

After turning onto an access road leading to the compound, the driver rushed through a barbed-wire fence, passed between two sentry posts, crashed through the gate, and slammed into the lobby of the barracks.

The driver detonated explosives with the power equal to more than 12,000 pounds of TNT. The explosion crumbled the four-story building, crushing service members to death while they were sleeping.

The terrorist attack killed 220 Marines and 21 other U.S. service members who were stationed there to help keep the peace in a nation torn by war.

It was the bloodiest day in the Corps’ history since World War II, when Marines fought to secure Iwo Jima.

From CNN: Iran responsible for 1983 Marine barracks bombing, judge rules.

From TimesOnline: God’s army has plans to run the whole Middle East by Amir Taheri.

Charles Johnson is doing a excellent job of rounding up photos and reports of anti-Israel demonstrations around the world. The fact that a pro-Hezbollah sentiment has been repeatedly witnessed is disgusting, especially in America. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (C) speaks during a conference in Tehran in this July 8, 2006 file photo. Germany rejects parts of a letter sent this week from Ahmadinejad to German Chancellor Angela Merkel that call into question Israel’s right to exist, a government spokesman said on Friday.

Not another letter……

Has Chirac surrendered yet?

196560427 a7d4b235e0 o Israel at War Watch: Arabs Press Syria to Stop Backing Hezbollah

Smoke blows over the town of Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel after Hezbollah missile barrages struck the area over night igniting the surrounding forests Sunday, July 23, 2006. Defense Minister Amir Peretz said Sunday Israel would accept a temporary international force, preferably led by NATO, in southern Lebanon to keep Hezbollah away from the border, according to officials in Peretz’s office.

AP: Arabs press Syria to help end violence

Mideast diplomats were pressing Syria to stop backing Hezbollah as the guerrillas fired more deadly rockets onto Israel’s third-largest city Sunday. Israel faced tougher-than-expected ground battles and bombarded targets in southern Lebanon, hitting a convoy of refugees.

Israel’s defense minister said his country would accept an international force, preferably
NATO, on its border after it drives back or weakens Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. But his troops reported encountering an intelligent, well-prepared and ruthless guerrilla army whose fighters don’t seem to fear death.

With Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arriving in Israel on Monday, both the Arabs and Israelis appeared to be trying to set out positions ahead of Washington’s first diplomatic mission to the region since the fighting began. The United States backs Israel’s refusal to talk about a cease-fire until it completes the military campaign against Hezbollah, but is under increasing pressure to foster a plan to end the growing suffering and destruction in Lebanon.

Israel has the right to disarm Hezbollah and guarantee border security with Lebanon. The NATO proposal may be workable but if Syrian continues to feed its client, Hezbollah, weapons and supplies to attack Israel then the war must continue.

With Israel and the United States saying a real cease-fire is not possible until Hezbollah is reined in, Arab heavyweights Egypt and Saudi Arabia were pushing Syria to end its support for the guerrillas, Arab diplomats in Cairo said.

A loss of Syria’s support would deeply weaken Hezbollah, though its other ally, Iran, gives it a large part of its money and weapons. The two moderate Arab governments were prepared to spend heavily from Egypt’s political capital in the region and Saudi Arabia’s vast financial reserves to break Damascus from the guerrillas and Iran, the diplomats said.

President Bush was correct about Syria knocking off the Hezbollah shit and the same goes for Iran. If the puppet masters in Tehran and Damascus want peace, then they must stop funding and supplying Hezbollah. If not, Israel will take care of Hezbollah militarily.

Stay tuned……

196381030 6633412a62 o Israel at War Watch: Israel and United States Support NATO led Buffer Force in Lebanon

An Israeli soldier carries a shell to a mobile artillery unit as it fires a 155mm shell toward Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon at a military staging area outside the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shemona. The United States is expediting an arms shipment of precision bombs to Israel from an arms deal struck last year amid the Jewish state’s ongoing assault on Lebanon, a US official said.

AFP: US and Israel ready to support NATO-led force in Lebanon

The United States and Israel said that they were ready to support an international force led by NATO in south Lebanon to ease tensions.

No US troops are likely to be in the force, which according to a US media report could be between 10,000 and 20,000 strong and led by a contingent from France or Turkey.

There could be delicate questions, however, over whether the force’s mission is to disarm Hezbollah or to support the Lebanese army’s efforts to take control in the south of the country.

Any international force would have to enhance Israel’s security and disarm Hezbollah or why bother?

The Lebanonese government and United Nations (UNIFIL) have been incompetent in dealing with Hezbollah and their terrorist attacks on Israel. A NATO force empowered to disarm and maintain the peace and a de-militarized border may well defuse the situation.

Captain Ed discusses how this plan will isolate Syria and Iran from their Hezbollah clients.
