Democrat Jim Webb’s first TV ad shows President Ronald Reagan speaking at the Naval Academy.

AP: Nancy Reagan objects to campaign ad

Democratic Senate candidate Jim Webb has a television ad ready to air featuring praise from his late boss Ronald Reagan — and Nancy Reagan called on him Friday to cancel it.

Webb, who was Reagan’s Navy secretary before Webb switched to the Democratic Party, uses the ultimate GOP icon to send a sentimental message to conservatives and moderates courted by his opponent, Sen. George Allen (news, bio, voting record). The ad is scheduled to begin airing next week.

But a three-paragraph letter from the former first lady’s office said the use of footage of Reagan, who died in 2004, is “neither authorized nor appropriate.”
In a telephone interview, Edwin Meese, attorney general under Reagan, called use of the footage “improper, unethical and very possibly illegal. … For him to use video of Ronald Reagan to appear in a campaign ad to favor him is fraud.”

James Web is having his own Virginia MACACA moment.

What a DUMBASS in not asking permission from President Reagan’s family.

irannukeseptember8ajpgwebeu3 Iran Nuclear Watch:United States Treasury Department Targets Hezbollahs and Irans Financial Institutions

EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana (L) gives a press conference next to Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen in Marienborg, Denmark. Solana has said that no UN sanctions would be imposed on Iran as long as talks continued on Tehran’s controversial nuclear program.

Treasury Department Targets Hezbollah’s and Iran’s Financial Institutions

In actions announced yesterday and today, the Treasury Department makes it clear that the U.S. will pursue the financial institutions which assist Hezbollah and the Iranian regime. Today, Treasury cut off access to the U.S. financial system by Iran’s Bank Saderat, one of Iranian-owned banks, by making it impossible to conduct “U-turn transactions,” which allow U.S. banks to process payments involving Iran that begin and end with a non-Iranian foreign bank. The Treasury statement asserts, “The bank is used by the Government of Iran to transfer money to terrorist organizations, including Hizballah, Hamas, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. A notable example of this is a Hizballah-controlled organization that has received $50 million directly from Iran through Bank Saderat since 2001.” Stuart Levey, the senior Treasury anti-terrorist financing official, said, “Bank Saderat facilitates Iran’s transfer of hundreds of millions of dollars to Hizballah and other terrorist organizations each year.”

The United States is not going to wait for the United Nations to MEANINGLESSLY SANCTION Iran.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger listens while California Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia, R-Palm Springs, left, talks about tape-recorded comments the governor made about her at a news conference in Santa Monica, Calif., Friday, Sept. 8, 2006. Schwarzenegger apologized Friday for saying during a closed-door meeting that Cubans and Puerto Ricans are naturally feisty and temperamental because of their combination of ‘black blood’ and ‘Latino blood.’ Garcia said she was not offended by the governor’s comments. Garcia earlier told the Los Angeles Times that she often calls herself a ‘hot-blooded Latina.’

AP: Schwarzenegger Apologizes Over Remark

The Audio is here and The Quote:

On the recording, Schwarzenegger describes Republican legislators as the “wild bunch” and, referring to Garcia, casually says that “black blood” mixed with “Latino blood” equals “hot.”

“I mean, they are all very hot,” the governor says on the audio recording. “They have the, you know, part of the black blood in them and part of the Latino blood in them that together makes it.”

A Schwarzenegger Macaca moment?

Doubtful……

236534313_67e625e574_o The Path to 9/11 Watch: ABC About to Cancel?

Will ABC Cancel?

“The Path to 9/11″ is looking a lot like “The Reagans, Part II.”

Bill Clinton loyalists are demanding wholesale changes to the upcoming miniseries — and while ABC is making some snips, the alterations, insiders say, may not please the Dems.

But a bombshell decision may happen anyway: Sources close to the project say the network, which has been in a media maelstrom over the pic, is mulling the idea of yanking the mini altogether.

Well, there is precedence……

Update:

Redstate (via Allah) says that ABC is canceling ads.
