Cox & Forkum: Stone Cold
Cox & forkum: Stone Cold
From CNN: Oliver Stone: ‘I’m ashamed for my country’.
Filmmaker Oliver Stone blasted President George W. Bush Thursday, saying he has “set America back 10 years.”Stone added that he is “ashamed for my country” over the war in Iraq and the U.S. policies in response to the attacks of September 11.
“We have destroyed the world in the name of security,” Stone told journalists at the San Sebastian International Film Festival prior to a screening of his latest movie, “World Trade Center.” The film tells the true story of the survival and rescue of two policemen who were trapped in the rubble of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, after they went to help people escape.
“From September 12 on, the incident (the attacks) was politicized and it has polarized the entire world,” said Stone. “It is a shame because it is a waste of energy to see that the entire world five years later is still convulsed in the grip of 9/11.
“It’s a waste of energy away from things that do matter which is poverty, death, disease, the planet itself and fixing things in our own homes rather than fighting wars with others. Mr. Bush has set America back 10 years, maybe more.”
The director of blockbusters such as “Platoon,” and “JFK” said the U.S. reaction to the attacks was out of proportion.
“If there had been a better sense of preparation, if we had a leadership that was more mature,” he said. “We did not fight back in the same way that the British fought the IRA or the Spanish government fought the Basques here. Terrorism is a manageable action. It can be lived with,” said Stone.
Flap is sooooo reassured from a LEFTY MORON filmmaker……

Global War on Terror Watch: Musharraf – The United States Will FAIL Without the Support of Pakistan
The United States and its allies will fail in the so-called “war on terror” without the support of Pakistan and its intelligence service, Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf has said.
IslamOnline: Musharraf Blasts “Ungrateful” West
The United States and its allies will fail in the so-called “war on terror” without the support of Pakistan and its intelligence service, Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf said Saturday, September 30.
In an interview with BBC radio, Musharraf was asked for his response to the view that Pakistan was not a good ally in the fight against global extremism because of the links between terrorism and his country.
“You will be brought down to your knees if Pakistan doesn’t co-operate with you. That is all that I would like to say. Pakistan is the main ally. If we were not with you, you would not manage anything. Let that be clear,” he said.
“And if the ISI (Inter Services Intelligence) is not with you, you will fail. Let that be very clear also. Remember my words: if the ISI is not with you and Pakistan is not with you will lose in Afghanistan.”
Sounds like EXCUSES to Flap. Pakistan has been giving the Taliban staging areas to attack American and NATO troops and safe-haven to Al Qaeda.
Musharraf recorded the interview after talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair in London on Thursday, September 28.
The meeting came following a leaked British defense ministry think-tank report that claimed the ISI was indirectly supporting extremism in Afghanistan, Iraq and Britain by backing the MNA coalition of Pakistani religious parties, reported Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Remember President Musarrah is a DICTATOR who came to power in Pakistan in a military coup eight years ago.
And Flap supposes that Allah is RIGHT.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai gestures during a press conference at the presidential palace in Kabul, Afghanistan, Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006. President Hamid Karzai said on Saturday that he and Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf will jointly lead a series of tribal gatherings on both sides of the Pakistani-Afghan border to quell an increase in attacks inside Afghanistan by Pakistan-based Taliban rebels.
Well, safe haven for Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Pakistan is UNACCEPTABLE.
Stay tuned……Flap does not foresee a long future for President/General Musharraf on the world stage.

Iran Nuclear Watch: Ahmadinejad – The Big LIE
Iranian women hold posters of Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during a public gathering in the city of Karaj, 21 miles (35 kilometers), west of the capital Tehran, Iran, Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006. Ahmadinejad on Thursday rejected demands that Tehran suspend its uranium enrichment activities, saying his government was determined to continue pursuing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
AP: Iran set on expanding nuclear program
Iran’s president on Sunday said his country was determined to expand its uranium enrichment program and called allegations that Tehran was seeking nuclear weapons a “big lie.”
Speaking to professors at Tehran University, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran hopefully will increase its enrichment program to produce nuclear fuel. The president has repeatedly rejected calls by the United States and its allies to stop enrichment.
“Allegations or charges by the United States than Iran is seeking nuclear weapons is a big lie,” Ahmadinejad said during his speech, which was broadcast on state-run television.
Well, then, President Ahmadinejad will have NO problem with IAEA inspections of his nuclear programs under the terms of the Non-Proligferation Treaty (NPT), right?
No?
Iran has had a secret military based nuclear program for almost twenty years.
How do you spell DISINGENUOUS?
Let the American and UNSC sanctions begin…….

Rudy Giuliani Watch: California’s Model for 2008
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani speaks at a press briefing about a security project which his security consulting company is undertaking Sunday Sept. 17, 2006 in Singapore. Giuliani Security & Safety LLC will serve as security planner and adviser in Casino company Eighth Wonder’s bid to build a casino resort on Singapore’s Sentosa island.
David Broder: California’s Model for The Middle
The likely victory of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in next month’s election could change the dynamics of California government and the way both national parties think about this mega-state.
Broder has it partly right.
He fails to mention the extreme leftward migration of California Democrats with the mega-influence of the public employee unions on the state budget.
And he fails to mention that most California Republicans will hold their nose and vote for Schwarzenegger because the alternative, Phil Angelides, is a far-left ideologue – a Gray Davis clone.
But, what does this all mean?
It means California will be in play for the GOP in the 2008 presidential race – the first time in 20 years. And the Democrats will have to defend the 55 electoral votes that have routinely shifted to the blue column.
Why?
Rudy Giuliani
Giuliani will be competitive no matter who the Democrats nominate. There are no other potential Democrat candidates that can match the stature and leadership qualities as the former New York Mayor.
Flap pictures Rudy as a GOP candidate in the mold of Pete Wilson and we all know how successful Wilson was.
When the GOP nominates Giuliani, unless there is a major GAFF, the Fat Lady has sung for the 2008 election. No one will beat him.
Stay tuned……
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (C) speaks at a news conference as he is joined by California’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (L) and Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca (R) in Santa Monica, California, August 17, 2006, urging California voters to support Proposition 83, Jessicas Law on the November 2006 ballot. Proposition 83 calls for electronically monitoring sex offenders for life via a GPS system as well as allowing prosecutors to charge criminals who posses child pornography with a felony.
