France Watch: Muslim Immigrant Youths March Through Paris
Suburban citizen group ‘AC Le Feu’ President Mohamed Mechmache (L) and vice-president Samir Mihi (C) attend a march in Paris, October 25, 2006.
AP: Immigrant youths march through Paris
Mixing rap music with memories of France’s revolutionary past, youths from poor neighborhoods of largely Muslim and African descent marched through Paris on Wednesday to present a collection of 20,000 complaints to lawmakers.
The march by several hundred people came ahead of Friday’s first anniversary of the riots involving disaffected youths from immigrant Parisian suburbs. Many in France fear new violence, with tensions rising in recent weeks.
“The context is still the same, nothing has changed. So the situation is propitious for other events like last year,” said Samir Mihi, co-founder of the AC-Le Feu group that collected the grievances from minorities all over France.
The demonstrators held ragged-looking notebooks filled with complaints while crossing southern Paris toward the Assembly, the lower house of parliament, after a stop at the Senate.
“Immigrants scare the French” read one unsigned entry. Another entry, by a 17-year-old boy from Besancon in eastern France, urged companies to use their profits to create more jobs.
Stay tuned for the riots this weekend. How will the French government respond?
Surrender again…….
A view of the charred remains of a city bus is seen Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at the bus station of Nanterre, west of Paris. The bus was set on fire on Wednesday night in Nanterre by a gang of youths, after they forced passengers out. The attack as France prepares to mark on Friday the one-year anniversary of riots last year by suburban youth, and raised the specter of a repeat of the three weeks of violence.

Iran Nuclear Watch: Iran Adds Second Cascade of Centrifuges to Enrich Uranium
A general view shows the Bushehr nuclear power plant in the Iranian Persian Gulf port of Bushehr, 1,200 Kms south of Tehran, in June 2006. Iran has confirmed that it has installed new equipment to step up uranium enrichment work despite the threat of UN sanctions over its nuclear programme, the official ISNA news agency reported.
Washington Post: Iran to begin 2nd atom fuel network in days: agency
Iran will start feeding uranium gas into a second network of centrifuges in days, an Iranian news agency said on Wednesday, expanding a program which Western powers fear is intended to make atomic bombs.
The centrifuges can enrich uranium for making fuel for power plants or for nuclear bombs. Iran says it wants only to make electricity but has failed to convince world powers who are threatening United Nations sanctions.
European Union powers started circulating a draft resolution for the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday to ban transfers of nuclear and missile-related technology and materials.
Diplomats told Reuters on Monday that Tehran had begun “dry-testing” a second network, known as cascades, of 164 centrifuges to go with an initial cascade that yielded Iran’s first batch of enriched uranium suitable for power plant fuel.
The Iranian student news agency ISNA quoted an informed source as confirming the second cascade had been installed two weeks ago at the Natanz pilot enrichment plant in central Iran.
It said the next important stage of work, injections of uranium UF-6 gas, would be done this week.
“Soon after injection of the gas, we will obtain the product of the second … cascade,” ISNA quoted the source as saying.
The first cascade of 164 centrifuges — cylindrical machines that create nuclear fuel by whirling at supersonic speeds — produced a tiny amount of low-enriched uranium in April.
Iran would need thousands of centrifuges spinning non stop for months to enrich uranium to the high level that would detonate a bomb. Experts say that could be 3-10 years away.
Iran is thumbing their NOSE at the West. While the feckless UNSC and the EU have attempted to talk to the Iranians they have been expanding their uranium enrichment program.
Fancy that……..
Time to finalize and pass that UNSC sanction resolution this week.

Australian Hijab Watch: The “UNCOVERED” Meat
The Australian News: Muslim leader blames women for sex attacks
THE nation’s most senior Muslim cleric has blamed immodestly dressed women who don’t wear Islamic headdress for being preyed on by men and likened them to abandoned “meat” that attracts voracious animals.
In a Ramadan sermon that has outraged Muslim women leaders, Sydney-based Sheik Taj Din al-Hilali also alluded to the infamous Sydney gang rapes, suggesting the attackers were not entirely to blame.
While not specifically referring to the rapes, brutal attacks on four women for which a group of young Lebanese men received long jail sentences, Sheik Hilali said there were women who “sway suggestively” and wore make-up and immodest dress … “and then you get a judge without mercy (rahma) and gives you 65 years”.
“But the problem, but the problem all began with who?” he asked.
The leader of the 2000 rapes in Sydney’s southwest, Bilal Skaf, a Muslim, was initially sentenced to 55 years’ jail, but later had the sentence reduced on appeal.
In the religious address on adultery to about 500 worshippers in Sydney last month, Sheik Hilali said: “If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it … whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat?
“The uncovered meat is the problem.”
The sheik then said: “If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred.”
He said women were “weapons” used by “Satan” to control men.
Wonder what the Women’s Liberation Movement would have to say to this cleric here in the USA?
Oh……the peaceful simplistic/primitive beauty of Sharia Law………
NOT
Keep them barefoot and in their Hijab – what a novel approach? After all, you don’t want to leave that meat “UNCOVERED.”

AP: Experts: Ban won’t stop online gambling
Gamblers may look over their shoulder now, but experts say a new Internet gambling ban won’t keep bettors from ponying up, just turn them on to overseas payment services out of the law’s reach.
“It has put a terrible scare into people,” said I. Nelson Rose, who teaches gambling law at Whittier Law School. “But it won’t by any means wipe out Internet gambling.”
The fright swept through the $12 billion industry on the heels of the recent arrests of two gambling company executives and a new law President Bush signed Oct. 13 that seeks to ban most online gambling and criminalizes funds transfers.
The law has wiped out billions of dollars in shareholder value of British companies, leaving the industry’s future in doubt as U.S. lawmakers initially trumpeted they had found a way to halt bets coming from America. But serious questions remain about whether the legislation can be effective in stopping U.S. residents from playing poker or betting on sports.
The new law will NOT stop on-line gambling. Look at POKER now……..
When the American financial institutions realize how much revenue they are losing to offshore companies the law will be changed.
And quick…….

North Korea Watch: Pyongyang Threatens War Against South Korea
North Korean soldiers chat as they take photographs of the South Korea’s side of the truce village of Panmunjom in the demilitarised zone separating the two Koreas, about 31 miles north of Seoul October 25, 2006.
Reuters: Pyongyang threatens war if S.Korea joins sanctions
North Korea warned South Korea on Wednesday against joining U.S.-led sanctions against Pyongyang and said it would take action after any such move by Seoul.
South Korea’s participation in sanctions would be seen as a serious provocation leading to a “crisis of war” on the Korean peninsula, a North Korean spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland said in a statement carried by the official KCNA news agency.
There you have it, folks – overt NUCLEAR BLACKMAIL.
Is WAR inevitable with Kim Jong-Il?
