Jamie White’s nearly nine-year run as a morning host at KYSR-FM (98.7) came to an end Wednesday with the announcement that the “Jamie, Jack and Stench” show would not be returning.
In a news release, the station said that “Star 98.7 management decided that the show is not a long-term fit with the music-intensive, artist-driven direction that began last April….”
White had been teamed with Jack Hine and Mike Roberts on the talk and interview show since mid-2005. She previously partnered with Danny Bonaduce for six years and before that with Frosty Stillwell and Frank Kramer.
The station said it would announce plans for the morning show “in the coming week.”
Flap guesses you don’t PISS OFF one of the most popular AM radio hosts at KFI (Clear Channel).
Bill Handel’s daughters were in the KYSR studios this morning. Apparently Jamie White needed her producer to do something and the producer was looking for a soft ball that the Handel twins had lost. Jamie asked the girls to leave.
Minutes later, in a rage Bill Handel stormed into the KYSR studio and live on the air screamed at Jamie White: “Don’t you ever talk to my kids that way again, Jamie, I’m going to kick your ass.”
“Bill, I tell them they can’t be right there,” Jamie yells back.
(Screaming louder) “You have such goddam losing numbers on this loser show. Don’t you talk to my kids that way.”
Someone may have attempted to touch Bill, because he responded, “Don’t you touch me!”
Jamie: “Get out of here.”
Bill: “Fuck you. Go fuck yourself.”
Jamie: “Your nuts.”
Well, Jamie White ends her nine year run on STAR 98.7 mornings.
Was Bill Handel right in calling White and her show a LOSER?
Incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) talks to reporters at a news conference about her plans for the first 100 hours of the new congress at the Capitol in Washington, December 14, 2006.
House Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi and her top aides have outlined a full agenda for Democrats’ first 100 legislative hours in power, starting after members of the 110th Congress are sworn in today. Pelosi has vowed to complete work on those items before President Bush delivers his State of the Union address on Jan. 23.
So much of politics is a matter of perception and expectations, so it’s useful at this point to review the program offered by Rep. Pelosi before the election for the agenda of the first 100 hours of her Speakership:
2) Increase minimum wage–probably to $7.25 (scheduled for Jan. 10)
3) Remove existing restrictions on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research (scheduled for Jan. 11)
4) Permit (or require) the federal government to negotiate prescription drug price schedules with pharmaceutical companies (scheduled for Jan. 12)
5) Cut interest rates on federally guaranteed student loans “in half” (scheduled for Jan. 17)
6) “End subsidies for Big Oil and invest in renewable energy” (scheduled for Jan. 18)
It’s hard to see how this can be done successfully.
Read it all.
Patrick reminds us of the Contract with America and the GOP’s Newt Gingrich when he assumed the Speakership in 1995:
Here’s the Contract with America for handy side-by-side reference. Republicans passed eight substantive measures on the first day of their majority, and as someone who was up watching it late that night on C-SPAN, the first day didn’t mean “next week.â€
Harriet Miers, President Bush’s failed Supreme Court nominee, has submitted her resignation as White House counsel, the White House announced Thursday.
White House press secretary Tony Snow said the president reluctantly accepted her resignation, which takes effect Jan. 31. He said a search for a successor is under way.
Miers was nominated in October 2005 by President Bush to replace retiring Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, but she dropped out under fire from conservatives who questioned her qualifications and would not support her.
Asked why she was leaving, Snow said: “Basically, she has been here six years.”
Look for more staff changes during the remaining Lame Duck Presidency of President Bush. With a Democrat controlled congress look for an acceleration of folks leaving the Administration for the private sector.
There are three serious Democrats who are running, or seem likely to run, for president: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards. But collectively they fail to occupy all of the available space and, indeed, leave a rather clear gap. What’s lacking is an avowed leftist candidate with gravitas. Hillary is not running as a leftist and is not perceived as such by her party. Obama, though now running as a euphemist, is clearly a man of the left. However, his gravitas quotient is roughly zero. Then there’s Edwards — to the left of Hillary at this time and with more gravitas than Obama, but not terribly convincing in either regard.
Gore would be a SERIOUS contender and would outflank Hillary on the LEFT. Nutroot, Green and Labor support would abound.
Flap says Gore would BEAT Hillary.
But, does he have the WILL TO RUN?
Stay tuned…….

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is seen on a television monitor as he holds a video conference from his hospital bed in Los Angeles with staff members in Sacramento, California December 28, 2006. Schwarzenegger is recovering from leg surgery following a skiing accident earlier in the month.
In a just released statement, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger says he won’t be able to attend inaugural parties tomorrow because his fractured femur requires him to keep his leg elevated and he needs to rest up for his inaugural address Friday. That means no public “green” party on the Capitol lawn, and no reception with donors in the evening. Maria Shriver will represent him.
It’s clear the injury is wearing him down more than expected (otherwise the schedule would have changed earlier.) “After meeting with my doctor he has advised me to rest, elevate my leg and stay off of my feet for as long as possible,” Schwarzenegger said in the statement.
Dr. Kevin Ehrhart, his orthopedic surgeon, said the governor is “recovering from significant surgery on his femur. His recovery has been extraordinary and I am adamant he not do anything that could jeopardize that recovery. I will continue to advise him on his health through his swearing-in, inaugural speech, State of the State, and budget presentation.”
Judge Roy Moore makes a New Years Resolution that I’m definitely on board with.
Each year the American Civil Liberties Union and other liberal organizations continue their efforts to destroy traditional values that we once assumed were self-evident and beyond question. And each year we sit quietly by doing nothing to stop their relentless assault on our culture and our religious heritage. As our resolution for the New Year, let us join together to defeat the ACLU’s anti-Christian agenda and restore our civil and religious freedom.
There are many reasons to stop the ACLU’s agenda, but what people need to know is how. Everyone needs to get involved. There is a lot that can be done.
Another thing is to elect people who will appoint Constitutionalist judges. We’ve made progress in this area over the past year. Last year around this time the ACLU announced their official opposition to the confirmation of Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court. Many of the ACLU’s biggest fans in the Senate fought hard to paint him as a woman hater and bigot, to the point of bringing his wife to tears, but in the end they all lost that battle.
When it comes to religious freedom, the ACLU is America’s number one censor. They have compared Christians to terrorists, and even called for jailing people over prayer. The most outrageous thing about this is that when these cases their attorney’s fees are paid for by the taxpayer. We have made progress against this in the past year. Currently there is legislation to put a stop to this and we got it passed in the House of Representatives. The bill is still pending before the Senate, and just because we lost the majority is no reason for us to let up.
Support groups that are fighting the ACLU. There are many out there including the Alliance Defense Fund, ACLJ, Liberty Council, and Thomas More Law Center. Join one of them, donate to them, and tell others about them.
Educate the public about the ACLU’s agenda. This last one is the New Year’s resolution we are making…to continue our fight against the ACLU by educating the public. Join us and over 200 other blogs in helping to expose the ACLU’s agenda to the people.
