Giuliani Notes: Rudy’s 3 Million Leads GOP Field

    giulianioctober4aweb

CNN: Giuliani’s early $3 million dwarfs GOP rivals

Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani began the year with over $3 million available to spend on a presidential campaign, more than six times the amount his closest GOP rival had available at the same point.

The Ticker had previously reported that Giuliani had saved at least $1 million in cash for his presidential exploratory committee by the start of the year, but a new report made available this week by the Federal Election Commission shows that the former New York City mayor had another $2 million stored in an account originally created for his aborted 2000 Senate campaign. Under federal law, Giuliani may transfer this entire amount to a presidential campaign.

Leading in most national GOP primary polls, Giuliani is not going to have a problem with EARLY campaign funds.

Now, if Flap was John McCain’s fundraiser I would probably be making a few more calls.

    The poop:

Combined federal cash-on-hand for 2008 Republicans:

    Republicans:

Rudy Giuliani (R-New York): $3,108,524.41 (Presidential and Senate cmtes.)
Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona): $492,487.30 (Presidential and Senate cmtes.)
Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado): $189,092.12 (House cmte. only)
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-California): $53,379.37 (House cmte. only)
Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kansas): $41,758.84 (Senate cmte. only)
Mitt Romney (R-Massachusetts): $20,159.89 (Senate cmte. only)
Tommy Thompson (R-Wisconsin) $500.00 (Presidential cmte only)

NOTE: No presidential reports were required from Jim Gilmore, Hunter, Romney, and Tancredo because their presidential committees were created in 2007.

Giuliani’s organization is taking shape including fundraising. Will Rudy be able to raise the $100 million as disclosed in that infamous briefing book?

    Probable…….

Giuliani Notes: Michigan Representative Candice Miller Endorses Rudy

Congresswoman Candice Miller Announces Support For Giuliani

Michigan Congresswoman Candice Miller (R-MI) announced her support for Mayor Rudy Giuliani to be the next President of the United States. Congresswoman Miller will speak about her endorsement this weekend during a speech to the Michigan GOP convention.

In announcing her endorsement Miller said Rudy Giuliani is the candidate ready to lead America.
“When deciding what candidate I wanted to be our next President of the United States I knew we needed someone who would continue the fight against terrorism, who has proven leadership and who has the record and experience of managing government and improving the economy,” Congresswoman Miller said. “Again and again on the most important issues facing America I came to the same conclusion, that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is the man we need to lead our nation.”

Congresswoman Miller sits on the House Armed Services Committee and was previously the Michigan Secretary of State.

John Edwards Watch: Edwards Retains UNHINGED Blogger Amanda Marcotte

Dean Barnett: Leadership, John Edwards Style

The Edwards campaign has finally spoken! You’ll note that the following statement from the candidate himself neither stands behind the bloggers nor throws them under the bus. It doesn’t say they’re staying, it doesn’t say they’re going. What leadership!

    Edwards Statement:

The tone and the sentiment of some of Amanda Marcotte’s and Melissa McEwan’s posts personally offended me. It’s not how I talk to people, and it’s not how I expect the people who work for me to talk to people. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that kind of intolerant language will not be permitted from anyone on my campaign, whether it’s intended as satire, humor, or anything else. But I also believe in giving everyone a fair shake. I’ve talked to Amanda and Melissa; they have both assured me that it was never their intention to malign anyone’s faith, and I take them at their word. We’re beginning a great debate about the future of our country, and we can’t let it be hijacked. It will take discipline, focus, and courage to build the America we believe in.

What strength of character. What a MORON

Afraid of the LEFT NUTROOTS – for shame.

If Edwards had any COJONES, he would admit the mistake and fire the BITCH.

Oh well, like Flap said before, The Wimp’s campaign won’t be around long anyway.

Allah and Bryan over at Hot Air have lots more.

    Update:

Marcotte responds by sucking up to Edwards (guess she needs the gig?):

Marcotte: “My writings on my personal blog, Pandagon on the issue of religion are generally satirical in nature and always intended strictly as a criticism of public policies and politics… I am sorry if anyone was personally offended by writings meant only as criticisms of public politics.”

Iran Nuclear Watch: If Attacked Iran Would Strike United States Interests Around the World

    irannukefeb82007aweb

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei speaks in Tehran, January 8, 2007. Khamenei said on Thursday the Islamic Republic would target U.S. interests around the world if it came under attack, state television reported.

AP: Iran to hit U.S. interests if attacked

Iran’s supreme leader said Thursday that if the United States were to attack Iran, the country would respond by striking U.S. interests all over the world — the latest sharp exchange in an escalating standoff between the two countries.

The comments by Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came on the same day that another top official, Tehran’s ambassador to the
United Nations, Javad Zarif, warned in a column in The New York Times that efforts to isolate Iran would backfire on the United States, increasing sectarian tensions in the volatile Middle East, including Iraq.

And this bloviating threat means something to the United States and Israel?

Is Khamenei naive enough to believe that should there be ANY attack by Iran on the United States that we would be at WAR against Iran. And war mean the uses of America’s nuclear arsenal.

Flap thinks Khamenei wishes to stir up the Iranian people to encourage them to fight “The Great Satan.”

What Mr. Supreme Leader is actually accomplishing is their death and destruction.

    Tick Tock Tick Tock

The “NUCLEAR POINT OF NO RETURN” is here and another American Aircraft Carrier Strike Group will be arriving soon.

NASA orders review of astronaut screening

Hours after its suddenly best-known astronaut returned home an object of national derision, unwilling to show her face, NASA said Wednesday that it will reassess long-standing mental health processes for evaluating its space travelers.

Lisa Nowak covered her head with a black windbreaker as she disembarked from a commercial flight from Florida on Wednesday morning. She walked down steps from the jetway to a police car, later switching to another car that took her to Johnson Space Center. There, medical personnel examined her.

As doctors tried to determine Nowak’s mental and emotional state, the media continued their scrutiny of a life that veered from remarkable to sordid in the time it took for her to drive from Houston to a parking lot outside the Orlando, Fla., airport, where she is accused of assaulting a romantic rival with pepper spray as a prelude to what prosecutors contend was murder.

    Ya think?

Giuliani Notes: Pennsylvania – Rudy Leading In Quinnipiac Poll

    giulianioctober4aweb

Quinnipiac University Poll: Clinton, Giuliani Early Favorites In Pennsylvania, Quinnipiac University Poll Finds; Race Is Close In Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida

In an early look at the 2008 presidential race, Pennsylvania voters back former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani by a narrow 47 – 44 percent over New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Arizona Sen. John McCain gets 46 percent to Sen. Clinton’s 45 percent, a tie.

Clinton is in a close race with either Giuliani or McCain in three swing states polled by Quinnipiac (KWIN uh-pe-ack) University: She leads McCain 46 – 42 percent and Giuliani 46 – 43 percent in Ohio (January 30); February 7 Florida results show Giuliani over Clinton 47 – 44 percent and Clinton edging McCain 47 – 43 percent.

    And in the GOP Primary:

    Giuliani – 30%

    McCain – 20%

    Gingrich – 14%

    Romney – 4%

“While Sen. Hillary Clinton polls more votes than Barack Obama, John Edwards and Al Gore combined in the Democratic race for president, Rudy Giuliani would give her a run for the money in the general election in Pennsylvania,” said Clay F. Richards, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

“The former First Lady has her work cut out for her in the Keystone state – a swing state that must be on her must-win list. Giuliani’s 9/11 hero status probably will fade some in a campaign centered on other issues, but Clinton must work hard to bring up her numbers among independents and men to carry the state. And the Philadelphia suburbs already look like a key 2008 battleground in Pennsylvania,” Richards added.

    Favorability Ratings:

    Hillary Clinton – 53 – 39

    Rudy Giuliani – 61 – 18

    John McCain – 54 – 20

    Newt Gingrich – 30 – 48

Mitt Romney – 76 percent haven’t heard enough to form an opinion.

    *******

Another swing state in play with a Giuliani campaign.

Will the Democrats come to the conclusion that Hillary Clinton’s negative favorability polling mean she cannot win in November 2008?

    Possible but not probable.

    Stay tuned…..

Giuliani Notes: Go Rudy Sign Torments John Edwards

    edwardsfeb8aweb

John Edwards 28,000 square foot compound in North Carolina

New York Post: GOOD RUDY SIGN

GIULIANI FAN ‘PICKETS’ EDWARDS’ BAD MANOR

A Rudy Giuliani fan is tormenting rival White House candidate John Edwards – with a “Go Rudy” sign on his own fence just 100 feet from the Democrat’s palatial and controversial North Carolina compound.

Edwards’ “home is a monster. It’s way over the top,” said neighbor Monty Johnson, who planted a “Go Rudy Giuliani 2008” sign near Edwards’ driveway.

Edwards is catching flak for playing to the nation’s poor on the campaign trail – while living large in the most expensive home in all of Orange County, N.C.

The Post revealed last year that Edwards was putting the finishing touches on a lavish, $4.3 million 28,000-square- foot compound being built outside Chapel Hill.

The 102 acres of land alone is worth $1.1 million, tax records show.

“There’s no way that a normal family could ever need a house like that. It’s only going to hurt him. I don’t think he’s going to be able to sell his story that he’s for the poor people,” Johnson added.

The main house has five bedrooms, 61/2 baths, two garages, a sprawling country kitchen with hardwood floors, and sweeping verandas to soak in the view of the verdant surrounding fields.

It appears John “Two Americas” Edwards has some FENCE MENDING to do with his neighbor.

But, Edwards won’t be in the race long in any case.
