Rudy Giuliani Watch: Not Confident Iraq War Will Turn Around
CNN: Giuliani ‘not confident’ war will turn around
Former New York mayor and 2008 presidential contender Rudolph Giuliani said Wednesday he is not sure the tide will turn in the war in Iraq, as President Bush has said.
“I’m not confident it’s all going to turn around,” Giuliani told CNN’s “Larry King Live.” “Who knows that? I mean, you never know that in the middle of the war.
“I’m confident that we have to try to make a turnaround, and we just can’t walk out, and that it is critical to us that things get to the point in Iraq that we have some degree of stability and not the way they are now,” Giuliani continued. “Because if we leave it the way it is now and we run out, then we’re going to face further difficulties in the future.”
Giuliani in the above interview by Larry King is supporting yet distancing himself from the unpopular conduct of the Iraq War. However, a couple of points:
!. America was justified in removing Saddam Hussein from power
2. It would be a disaster for the United States to precipitiously withdraw from Iraq.
3. Non-Binding Congressional resolutions are worthless
4. Giuliani has refused to assign blame for the mistakes of the conduct of the Iraq War.
So, is Rudy bashing Bush?
No and Flap does not agree with Captain Ed that he is.
Hizzoner is laying out a tough, firm policy of how he would conduct war operations when he is elected President and have to face a similar circumstance.
Stay tuned……..

California Term Limits Watch: Special Interests File Term Limits Modification Initiative
San Francisco Chronicle: Term limits initiative headed for February 2008 ballot
A proposed ballot initiative backed by Democrats and Republicans would extend the time lawmakers could spend in the Assembly and Senate. The initiative is headed to the Attorney General’s Office for title and summary before it goes into circulation. There’s little, if any, doubt of it qualifying for the ballot in time for the February 2008 presidential primary. Democratic campaign consultant Gale Kaufman and former Schwarzenegger campaign adviser Matthew Dowd are leading the effort.
The measure would actually reduce the amount of time lawmakers could spend in the Legislature — 12 years instead of 14. But all 12 years could be served in one house. Currently lawmakers are limited to three two-year terms in the Assembly and two four-year terms in the Senate. Both Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez and Senate leader Don Perata could be big winners if they can convince voters to go along.
No matter how much money the special business interests and unions throw at this turkey, the initiative will still lose.
Californians will not vote to change the term limit law to help three politicians – namely Fabian Nunez, Don Perata and the Governator.
But, they will try……..

Rudy Giuliani Watch: Yes, I’m Running
Rudy Giuliani on CNN Larry King’s Show, February 14, 2007New York Times: Giuliani Says He Is Running for President in ’08
Rudolph W. Giuliani yesterday removed any lingering doubts that he was running for president, and, without mentioning President Bush by name, offered pointed criticism on how the Iraq war has been handled.
He said that the United States went to war with far too few forces and was wrong to dismantle Saddam Hussein’s military and government, and he conceded that if more information had been available about Iraq’s weapons, Congress never would have approved the war.
Mr. Giuliani has behaved like a presidential candidate for months, forming an exploratory committee, raising money, building a campaign staff and making appearances around the country. But until now, he has repeatedly stopped short of a definitive statement of his intentions — even joking about his nondeclarations in recent days.
Where has New York Times reporter Richard Perez-Pena been the past few days? Flap knows he was in the room last Saturday in Sacramento when Flap shot this video:
Oh, Flap knows where he was – writing a story on Rudy’s campaign song on his New York Times blog.
For the benefit of the New York Times, here is some of last night’s Larry King interview of Hizzoner:
So, is this New York Times piece superfluous?
You betcha and a WEAK attempt to portray Rudy as indecisive.
And it is BULL…….
Stay tuned for more crap from the New York Times……
