Washington Times: McCain: I will close Guantanamo

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told a London newspaper he act quickly to restore the international reputation of the United States if he becomes president.

In an interview with The Telegraph, McCain said that would include shutting down the terrorist detention camp at Guantanamo Bay and taking quick action on global warming.

“It is a very dispiriting situation and I know we will have to work hard to improve it,” McCain said of the strained relationships between the United States and many longtime allies.

McCain was interviewed onboard his Straight Talk Express bus during a visit to Iowa.

“I would immediately close Guantanamo Bay, move all the prisoners to Fort Leavenworth (Kansas) and truly expedite the judicial proceedings in their cases,” he said. “I would reaffirm my commitment to address the issue of climate change and greenhouse gas emissions. I know how important this is in Europe in particular.

Well, McCain is wrong on both accounts.

Guantanamo should only be closed when the enemy combatants housed there pose no threat to the United States. And what purpose except endangering Americans would be served by bringing those terrorists onto the continental United States?

Has Senator McCain become SOFT on Prisoners of War?

Secondly, who gives a shit what France and the EU thinks about global warming and other issues. Senator, Europe is dying from their socialistic economies, slow native European population growth rates and Muslim immigration.

Tell this global warming crap to the workers in Michigan and Ohio who are struggling to produce American made products.

Now, everyone should know why McCain is fading in the polls.

Put a fork in him. McCain is done.

Hillary looks good compared to this SENILE old bat.

Stay tuned…….

The restaurant was a popular stop for former president Bill Clinton in the 90s.

Update:

Patrick Hynes is having delusions of grandeur on McCain’s New Hampshire and Iowa campaign swings.

Hey Patrick, did he tell the folks in New Hampshire that he was going to close Gitmo?

Hugh Hewitt does have it RIGHT.

Flap says McCain doesn’t make it much past Labor Day.

He is wrong on the issues and just too damn OLD – watch Hynes video.
