North Korea Watch: US-NK Set Timetable to Shut Down Yongbyon Reactor
U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill, left, and South Korea’s Foreign Minister Song Min-soon pose for the media prior to their meeting at the Foreign Ministry in Seoul, South Korea, Friday, June 22, 2007. Hill said Friday that North Korea is prepared to promptly carry out a pledge to shut down its main nuclear reactor, but warned that the country’s complete denuclearization will not be easy.
US-NKorea set timetable to shut reactor
Pyongyang and Washington have agreed on a three-week timeframe for shutting down the North’s plutonium-producing reactor, a top U.S. nuclear envoy said Saturday.
Christopher Hill — the chief U.S. negotiator at international talks on North Korea’s nuclear programs — said in response to reporters’ questions on arriving at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport that they were looking at “a three-week timeframe … starting Friday” for shutting down the Yongbyon reactor.
Hill arrived in Tokyo Saturday to brief his Japanese counterpart on the outcome of his two-day surprise trip to the North Korean capital.
Good news but the Unites States must push ahead.
Trust But Verify.
Stay tuned……

Fred Thompson Watch: Thompson to Announce on Tuesday?
Former Senator Fred Thompson delivers a foreign policy speech to journalists at the Policy Exchange in London, June 19, 2007.
WSMV-TV: Thompson Announcement Set For Nashville
Headquarters To Be Based At Fall School building
Fred Thompson is set to announce that Nashville will be the home of his national campaign headquarters, WSMV is reporting.
A source close to the campaign planning tells WSMV that that Thompson planned to announce his candidacy on the steps of the historic Fall School Building Tuesday, but Thompson campaign officials deny that Tuesday’s announcement is an official run for the White House.
Sounds plausible to Flap.

Iran Watch: Brit Capture NOT Iran’s First Attempt
Video grab shows Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad speaking to Britons who had been detained in Iran at a ceremony to mark their release, April 4, 2007.
Remember the Brit capture story by Iran in March?
Well, this was not Iran’s first attempt.
Iranian naval forces in the Gulf tried to capture an Australian Navy boarding team but were vigorously repelled, the BBC has learned.
Flap supposes the Aussie’s had the “STONES” and the Brits did not.
Apparently……

Mitt Romney Watch: Jay Garrity Leaves Romney Campaign
Romney aide takes leave amid probes
An ever-present aide to Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney took a leave of absence Friday after he became the subject of investigations in two states for allegedly impersonating a law enforcement officer.
His attorney denied the charges.
You know the story about Jay Garrity.
Now, Jay is gone – LIKE FLAP SAID THE FIRST TIME.
“Jay has taken a leave of absence from the campaign to address these complaints,” said Romney spokesman Kevin Madden.
Jones, the Garrity attorney, disputed the sequence of events. Leibovich has stood by his version of the story.
In 2004, Garrity was cited and fined by Massachusetts officials after a Ford Crown Victoria registered to him was found to have lights, a siren, radios and other law enforcement equipment — including a baton — after it was parked illegally in Boston’s North End. At the time, Garrity was paid $75,000 annually as Romney’s gubernatorial chief of operations.
Mitt Romney has taken decisive action – as he should have yesterday.
But, will there be more to this story?
Stay tuned……..

Michelle Malkin on Michael Moore and SICKO
‘Sicko’ leaves top Democrats ill at ease
Leading candidates are sidestepping direct comment on filmmaker Michael Moore’s proposals for universal healthcare.Instead of greeting the film with hosannas or challenging it head-on, however, the leading Democratic presidential candidates have sidestepped direct comment on Moore’s proposals.
Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York and Barack Obama of Illinois and former Sen. John Edwards of South Carolina all have staked out positions sharply at odds with Moore’s approach. But none of them is eager to have that fact dragged into the spotlight.
Hillary is NOT stupid. Socialized, nationalized, universal government run healthcare sunk husband’s Bill first term policy agenda with the resulting loss of House control for the first time in over 40 years.
And you think she will endorse this WACKO Michael Moore proposal?
If Socialized, Britain type National Health Service Medicine is an issue in race 2008, the Democrats lose.
The Democrat Presidential candidates know this.

Mitt Romney Watch: Massachusetts State Police and New Hampshire Attorney General Investigating Romney’s Director of Operations – Jay Garrity
Romney aide is the focus of probe
Allegedly acted as State Police trooperState Police are investigating one of Mitt Romney’s top campaign aides for allegedly impersonating a trooper by calling a Wilmington company and threatening to cite the driver of a company van for erratic driving, according to two law enforcement sources familiar with the probe.
Jay Garrity, who is director of operations on Romney’s presidential campaign and a constant presence at his side, became the primary target of the investigation, according to one of the sources, after authorities traced the cellphone used to make the call back to him. The investigation comes three years after Garrity, while working for Romney in the State House, was cited for having flashing lights and other police equipment in his car without proper permits.
The New Hampshire attorney general, according to the Associated Press, has also opened an investigation into a report that a Romney aide, later identified as Garrity, pulled over a New York Times reporter in New Hampshire and said he had run his license plate.
New Hampshire law prohibits private citizens from accessing license plate databases or pulling over fellow citizens.
New York Times reporter Mark Leibovich allegedly was pulled over while driving behind Romney’s caravan last week month (May 29) in New Hampshire.
He travels with an entourage that includes two or three “operations†guys who serve as advance men and a security detail. (Between stops in New Hampshire, this reporter found himself trailing the former governor’s S.U.V. on a back road, only to be led to the shoulder and instructed to “veer off†by a man wearing an earpiece who emerged from Mr. Romney’s car. “We ran your license plate,†he told the reporter, and explained that no one was permitted to follow Mr. Romney’s vehicle.)
But, Romney’s campaign yesterday denied stopping the reporter.
So, now comes this report about this same individual, Jay Garrity being investigated in another FAUX-COP incident.
This story appears to have some LEGS.
As Flap said yesterday:
Well, somebody here is not telling the truth.
If the Romney operations folks did what Leibovich wrote then they CLEARLY violated New Hampshire law. At best, the Romney operations crew lied to the reporter to scare him off or intimidate him – real nice.
In any case, the New Hampshire Attorney General should investigate the matter.
And Romney himself needs to clear the air, set the record straight (since he was there), fire the staff responsible and apologize, if necessary.
It certainly appears Mitt Romney has a rogue WANNABE FAUX COP on his payroll as his Director of Operations.
In 2004, the Globe reported, Garrity was cited and fined for driving a Crown Victoria with red and blue lights mounted in the grill, a siren, a PA system, and strobe lights; and for having a nightstick and identification showing a State Police patch that read “Official Business.”
Pending multiple iinvestigations by different jurisdictions, shouldn’t Jay Garrity be placed on LEAVE?
Stay tuned……..
