KNBC Calls On Mayor Villaraigosa To Release E-Mails, Official Schedule
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s relationship with a television reporter is raising new questions about his conduct as it relates to city business, KNBC News reported.
Under California’s Public Records Act, KNBC reporter Ana Garcia asked the mayor to show the station his e-mails and his official calendar.
But, according to Garcia, the mayor’s attorneys refused to turn over most of the things the station requested.
Finally, a MSM outlet is investigating Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and his sordid love affair with Telemundo Channel 52 political reporter Mirthala Salinas.
The transcript of the report is here.
Luke Ford has the audio of the report here.

So, what is the FLAP?
1. The Mayor is stonewalling the press and the public’s right to know his schedule, his communications and what he does on the “public’s dime.”
2. Mayor Villar has preferentially given interviews and press access to his girl friend, Mirthala Salinas.
3. Hizzoner availed himself of a private jet to fly to Rosa Parks funeral, paid by a special interest and campaign contributor, Ameriquest Corporation because the Mayor could not timely take a commercial flight because he wanted to spend time with Mirthala Salinas at her Studio City condominium.

As Flap said yesterday, THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG.
KNBC will be successful with their information request – even if they have to obtain a court order. And who knows what other distracting and/or inopportune liaisons (with food and wine) the Mayor has had with Mirthala Salinas over his Mayoral tenure.
In the meantime, the sounds of crickets are heard at the Los Angeles Times and Telemundo.
Stay tuned…….
During the course of a television interview on June 19, 2006, Villaraigosa walks with Salinas outside the state Capitol.

Rudy Giuliani Watch: Gallup Poll – Rudy Leads GOP Field By Double Digits in Latest Gallup Poll
Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani holds up a card bearing his ‘Twelve Commitments’ to the American people, Thursday, July 12, 2007, during his speech at the Victory ’08 fundraiser dinner at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, Michigan
The Gallup Poll: 2008 Nomination Contests Holding Steady With Clinton and Giuliani on Top
A new Gallup survey, conducted July 12-15, 2007, finds little change from earlier this month in public preferences for the Republican and Democratic presidential nominations.
In the Republican race, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani continues to overshadow his opponents, leading former Sen. Fred Thompson by 10 percentage points in the straight ballot question, 30% to 20%, and by a sizeable 20-point margin in a “narrow down” with Fred Thompson.
The GOP Nuts:
With Gingrich in the race:
Rudy – 30%
Thompson – 20%
McCain – 16%
Romney – 8%
Gingrich – 7%
Without Gingrich in the race:
Rudy – 33%
Thompson – 21%
McCain – 16%
Romney – 8%
Mayor continues his national poll lead for the Republican Presidential nomination. Although John McCain’s campaign has been struggling as of late, it appears his poll numbers have stabilized – but in 3rd place.
Mitt Romney after months of campaigning and running $ millions in ads continues to poll in single digits.
Let’s look at some head to head polling:
With Giuliani leading in GOP fundraising and consistently leading in the polls, is it time for Republicans to coalesce around his candidacy – since he appears to be the inevitable winner?
Yes, and where is Fred Thompson’s big announcement? It is already the 17th of the month.
