Ron Paul Watch: Criminal BOTNET Fueling Ron Paul Spam? Part Two

Now the Ron Paul spammers are hacking into the FAKE Rudy Giuliani forum and blaming the entire FLAP on a Giuliani PAID writer, Sarah Lai Stirland. Flap linked to her piece yesterday about the BOTNETS and Ron Paul.
Allah over at Hot Air has more of the FLAP.
Check out what the Ron Paul spammers did to the Rudy Giuliani forum:
Check out some of the threads and see how Ron Paul spammers have hijacked them to smear Giuliani, promote Ron Paul or smear Tech writer Sarah Lai Stirland – trolls that they ARE.
Of course, the Ron Paul Campaign for President will deny knowledge of this activity nor repudiate it – sort of like Don Black and Stormfront.org.
Pathetic……..

I came across this earlier today, found the YouTube link in the Wired articles’ comments. It smelled pretty fishy, so I did a little checking around. I’m pretty sure the site wasn’t hacked. It’s a parody forum, just like the Fred Thompson one (and Mitt Romney one). They’re all hosted at the same place, use the same forum software, and were registered through privacy/proxy domain registrations.
Here’s my write up over at RPF. Honestly it looks like bait and unfortunately (as evidenced by most YouTube comments) a lot of supporters bought it.
Flap
Not a parody site but a conscious attempt at smearing the Tech writer and Rudy.
Do you like being associated with this crap. Gregor?
Gregor Morrill
Show me a serious thread on that forum in support of Rudy Giuliani.
It’s not an official forum, it’s arguably not even a grassroots/fan forum. The posts clearly make fun of Giuliani just as the Thompson forum makes fun of Thompson. The fact that they’re hosted at the same IP address bolsters this.
It’s over-the-top obvious, such as:
That’s ridiculous. I would never believe that was coming from a Giuliani supporter site.
Do I approve of or participate in that? No. Am I associated with it? No.
It very well might be a smear attempt – I didn’t say otherwise – but even the wording in the smear thread is ridiculous itself. It was a pathetic smear attempt if that’s what it was, and it smells a lot like bait to me. Unfortunately several Paul supporters seemed to fall for it and blame the writer or Giuliani; which again, I don’t approve of.
You’ll note that’s why I made my comment on both the YouTube video and the RPF on the matter.
Flap
Gregor,
This is just more weirdness associated with Ron Paul.
Sean
And you aren’t making a conscious attempt at smearing Ron Paul?
Flap
Ron Paul and some of his folks could remedy this weird situation by just stopping.
They are smearing themselves.
Gregor Morrill
In all honesty and sincerity I must give you some props and thanks for using the phrase “some supporters”, since you typically seem to generalize about all of his supporters. Thank you.
Gregor Morrill
er, I mean “some of his folks” of course.
Flap
Well, they are not helping his campaign. They are counter-productive.
Gregor Morrill
Some supporters actions are counter-productive, I’m sure. Every campaign will have that. I don’t condone them or even excuse them, but I don’t think they’re the majority either.
Flap
Seems to be more than a few.
Don’t see much of this activity in the other campaigns. All of the folks I know in the other campaigns are people I could associate with after the campaign.
Not so much with the Ron Paul supporters.
Gregor Morrill
How many Ron Paul supporters do you know in real life? I’m not trying to prove or disprove anything here, just wondering.
Unrelated: I’ve been wondering what does “Fullosseous” mean?
