0 Mitt Romney Says Rudy Has Pushed the Panic Button WTF?

Rudy Giuliani’ second television ad, “LEADERSHIP” now airing in New Hampshire and the Boston television markets

Kevin Madden, spokesman for the Mitt Romney campaign came out tonight with this nonsense about Rudy Giuliani “PUSHING THE PANIC BUTTON” because he has gone “on air” with about six weeks before the New Hampshire GOP primary election.

WTF?

When do you suppose a candidate in second place in New Hampshire should try to win the election with television ads? After YOUR candidate wins?

Give me a break.

Flap would think Mitt Romney would be MORE UPSET and reaching for the panic button or his own checkbook with Florida polling showing him behind by 21 points after Romney has been “ON AIR” for weeks.

It is doubtful that Rudy will be goaded into a “NEGATIVE” campaign that Mitt wishes to provoke. Isn’t that the intent of this piece?

But, Flap is happy to oblige Mitt reminding voters with the flip-flops and oddities that disqualify him from the Presidency:

Maybe Mitt can buy some television time with his own “PANIC BUTTON” that will respond to some of these?

Stay tuned……..

0 Rudy Giuliani Watch: Leadership On Air In New Hampshire

Rudy’s second television commercial, “LEADERSHIP” is now “ON AIR” in New Hampshire and the Boston television markets.

The script:

MAYOR GIULIANI: “I believe I’ve had the most leadership experience of anyone that’s running. It’s not just holding executive positions, like Mayor of New York, or United States Attorney, or 3rd ranking official in the Reagan Justice Department. It’s having held those positions in time of crisis. I’ve been tested in a way in which the American people can look to me. They’re not going to find perfection, but they’re going to find somebody who has dealt with crisis almost on a regular basis and has had results. And in many cases, exceptional results. Results people thought weren’t possible. I’m Rudy Giuliani and I approve this message.”

The facts behind the ad are here.

Rudy is currently in second place in New Hampshire neck and neck with John McCain who won the New Hampshire GOP primary in 2000 against President Bush.

Will the Mayor’s television ad campaign persuade voters to propel him to a win?

Stay tuned…….

capt29ef980517cb40758afnw3 Mitt Romney Mormon Gate Watch: Did Romney Do It?

Republican presidential hopeful, former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney talks with members of the media at the Little America hotel and resort in Cheyenne, Wyo. Sunday evening Nov. 18, 2007.

The MAIN FLAP this morning: Did Mitt Romney Push Poll Himself?

There IS evidence – circumstantial though.

The Romney Campaign DENIES involvement – well sort of.

The New Hampshire Attorney General WILL eventually get to the bottom of the flap. In the meantime, Team Romney is BLEEDING.

If the Romney campaign has ANY implication in this matter – Romney is DONE.

Stay tuned…….

Update:

Why doesn’t Western Wats who DID make the calls clear the air on who sponsored this flap?

Will Western Wats have to be subpoenaed?

Captain Ed runs through the possible culprits and comes up with the same conclusion as Flap:

Ellery Queen would be hard put to figure this out. The real suspect has likely not yet appeared on the stage. My best guess is that it will turn out to be a 527-type organization, perhaps an inexperienced political group attempting to kneecap Romney in Iowa or New Hampshire. Whomever it is, they won’t find many friends in the Republican Party after this stunt.

capta6754000af024ee993bbh1 Giuliani Florida Poll Watch: Rudy Beating Romney by 21 Points; Update: Video Rudy in Florida Yesterday

Republican presidential hopeful, former N.Y. Mayor Rudy Giuliani, center, walks with his wife Judith, right, and Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum, left, prior to the start of the Ford 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup series auto race at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Fla. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007.

The Mason-Dixon Florida GOP Poll:

  • Rudy – 36% ( 24% – 9/7/07)
  • Romney – 15% (13%)
  • Thompson – 12% (23%)
  • McCain – 10% (9%)
  • Huckabee – 8% (6%)
  • Others – 4% (3%)
  • Undecided – 15% (22%)

Rudy has opened a commanding lead in Florida – his “FIREWALL” state. Fred Thompson has collapsed in the past two months and is now in third place.

Since Thompson trails the field badly in Iowa and New Hampshire is there any guarantee that he will be competitive in Florida. Or will Florida be make or break for Fred?

Note that Rudy has not aired ANY television commercials in Florida while Mitt Romney has been “on air” for weeks.

Let’s look at the Real Clear Politics chart and graph of the Florida race:
