Mitt Romney Watch: Did “The Speech” Solve Romney’s Mormon Problem?

Republican presidential candidate former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney pauses while delivering an address titled ‘Faith in America’ at the George Bush Presidential Library in College Station,Texas, December 6, 2007

The answer is NO.

Bill Bradley explains why.

Mike Huckabee will either beat Mitt Romney decisively or tie him up with a narrow heavily contested win in Iowa. Huck will also dilute Romney’s win in New Hampshire five days later. With two close elections under his belt Romney will be denied the trifecta in South Carolina.

Mitt’s FINISHED with this scenario.

Romney today needed to explain and convince the Evangelical Christians who make up almost 40 per cent of the GOP Caucus in Iowa and other states (especially in South Carolina) that his flip-flops on socially conservative issues like abortion and gay marriage are acceptable because he is one of them, albeit a Mormon.

But, Mormonism REALLY is not the ISSUE or the PURPOSE of the speech.

Mitt Romney’s character is.

Stay tuned…….

Update:

Hugh Hewitt, Romney Hagiographer, doesn’t agree.  But, then again, Flap is just a voter and doesn’t count as much as Mark Steyn or Fred Barnes.

Allah calls out HH for this nonsense.
