John McCain Watch: McCain SURGES in New Hampshire – The Mac is Back
Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain (R-AZ) arrives for a campaign stop in Hillsborough, New Hampshire December 17, 2007 where Senator McCain received the endorsement of Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-CT).
The Mac is back is right. The latest Rasmussen New Hampshire Poll shows McCain ONLY 4 points off the lead held for months by Mitt Romney.
The Poll:
- Mitt Romney – 31% (34%, 11/29)
- John McCain – 27% (15%)
- Rudy Giuliani – 13% (15%)
- Mike Huckabee – 11% (14%)
- Ron Paul – 7% (8%)
- Fred Thompson – 3% (3%)
So, what has changed with John McCain? The endorsements of the Nes Hampshire Union Leader, the Boston Globe and lately Senator Joe Lieberman certainly have not hurt.
Will McCain be able to pull off the comeback win?
Very possible as Rudy Giuliani voters may now migrate to McCain if they sense Rudy has little chance to win.
Stay tuned…….
Update:
New Rasmussen Poll numbers out of Iowa also show a McCain surge with a decline in Huckabee. Will McCain be the Romney stopper?
Mike Huckabee | 28% |
Mitt Romney | 27% |
John McCain | 14% |
Rudy Giuliani | 8% |
Fred Thompson | 8% |
Ron Paul | 6% |
