A Giuliani 9/11 Reference Overload?
Republican presidential hopeful, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, speaks during a campaign stop at an American Legion hall in Salem, N.H., Friday Jan. 4, 2008.
The New York Daily News bags (as usual) on Rudy’s Iowa caucus performance and then others take a quote out of context.
He flatlined in Iowa and he’s struggling in New Hampshire, but Rudy Giuliani shook off the early-state blues Thursday as only he can.
“None of this worries me – Sept. 11, there were times I was worried,” Giuliani said.
“We’re sitting in a pretty good position right now. So we’re not worried and not concerned,” he told a news conference here. “Maybe other people acted nervous in a situation like this, but this is not unexpected.”
These two political scientists say enough is enough. Sully cannot help but to pile on.
Come on guys, this statement is OUT OF CONTEXT – much like Biden’s foolishness.
Update:
The Los Angles Dog Trainer is happy to pile on for Rudy’s critics, including the Far Left Robert Greenwald.

Rudy Blows New Hampshire?
U.S. Republican presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani speaks to supporters during a campaign stop at the American Legion Hall in Salem, New Hampshire, January 4, 2008.
Rudy blows New Hampshire?
Giuliani has done more in New Hampshire than he should have. The state has always been leaning to Mitt Romney and John McCain. They have home field advantage.
John McCain beat President Bush in the 2000 GOP primary and has been campaigning there ever since. Mitt Romney has a New Hampshire vacation home and was the Governor of neighboring Massachusetts.
What makes anyone think that Rudy had a snow balls chance in New Hampshire. He didn’t. He wasted $3 million on paid media and will finish fourth or fifth. Maybe behind Huckabee and Ron Paul. Maybe not, but third place none the less.
So, now the New Hampshire KNOW IT ALLS will say that Rudy did not spend enough time there. Rudy could have lived in Manchester or Concord and not finished any higher than third place.
Rudy is a moderate to conservative Republican. His base is in the large more diverse states like Florida, Illinois and California.
End of story.

Hillary Clinton Fundraiser Norman Hsu Sentenced to Three Years in Prison
As if last night’s third place finish in the Iowa Democrat Causcus wasn’t bad enough, Democrat and Hillary Clinton fundraiser Norman Hsu was sentenced today to three years in prison.
His troubles began dogging Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and other big-name Democrats last summer when news reports revealed he was a fugitive who fled the state before he was sentenced for the 1992 fraud conviction. He turned himself in on Aug. 31 — then fled again.
Federal corruption charges in New York are still pending.
Don’t be surprised if Rudy Giuliani mentions this tomorrow night at the GOP debate – Corruption in Democrat Campaigns.

McCain Attacks Romney on Leadership

John McCain borrowing a page out of Rudy Giuliani’s playbook attacks Mitt Romney about leadership in his latest web ad.
But, won’t the debates the next two nights eclipse this tit for tat media campaign? After all, the election IS on Tuesday.

Mitt Romney Playing the McCain Age Card?

Mitt Romney Ant-McCain web ad
Mitt Romney’s theme of OLD vs. NEW is brutally playing the AGE CARD – where McCain is vulnerable. From Mitt Romney’s chief strategist:
“I think that’s what you’ve been hearing from the governor, and I think that’s what you are going to hear from the governor. I like our chances against John McCain. I think it’s pretty clear that we’ve got tremendous new challenges, a new generation of challenges here that require a new vision and a new leadership, and the fact is that Sen. McCain has, God bless him, he’s tried his best, but we haven’t seen a lot of change in Washington for the last 20 years. I think, can-do — Mitt Romney gets things done.”
Let’s see if Romney or others will attempt to “paint” McCain as too old or too old school to serve.

Florida Absentee Voters Beckon Rudy Giuliani

Mayor Rudy Giuliani sat down with CNN’s Larry King and talked about his national campaign strategy, and explained why his ability to compete and win in all 50 states makes him the best candidate to defeat the Democrats in November.
Fact: A record Iowa turnout of 120,000 GOP voters in last night’s Caucus
Fact: 151,000 equals the number of absentee ballots requested so far for Florida’s January 29th primary election.
Florida beckons…….

Where’s Rudy?
Republican presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani speaks during a campaign rally in Hialeah, Florida January 3, 2008.
Earth to Rudy Giuliani: Why didn’t you blow off Iowa? You knew it was going to be hard to compete because, Rudy, you are a moderate urban Catholic who does not play well to the rural Evangelical Christian crowd. Your candidacy is a tough sell there no matter what you would have done.
Why bother spending any money or time? You could have blown it off like McCain. And, McCain still polled better and you would not have received the indignity of losing to Ron Paul.
Now, you are off to New Hampshire where the players are Mitt Romney and John McCain. Both are hometown favorites and both have been “on air” for weeks with positive and negative ads. You already have wasted over $3 million in New Hampshire with weak policy ads and now you are hitting your war on terror strength while everyone is talking about Huckabee playing bass guitar on Jay Leno.
Advice (Flaps 2 cents): Pull out of New Hampshire and move to Florida. You are wasting resources and who cares if you place third there (and you may place fourth behind Huckabee or fifth behind Paul).
Let McCain and Romney “duke it out.”
Whoever wins in New Hampshire between Mc Nasty and Mitt-nasty, you will have to beat in Florida to move forward to a February 5 majority delegate win.
So,
- Concentrate on Florida, Illinois and California.
- Work your moderate GOP constituencies including minority communities.
- Use Steve Forbes and George Will more talking about economics. Use the Hoover Institute.
- Tank your northeastern accented surrogates on national television.
- Talk more about your days fighting crime as United States Attorney.
After the debates slip out of the frigid northeast and get down to your “FIREWALL.”

Day By Day by Chris Muir January 4, 2008
Fred Thompson’s third place showing in Iowa yesterday was weak after spending many days campaigning there. Although Fred beat McCain, he is out of money and definitely out of energy.
Flap does not think Thompson enjoys campaigning and there is no “fire in his belly” for the Presidency. Thompson might as well withdraw because he is on a road to nowhere.
If Fred says in the race through South Carolina he hurts Romney and assists a Huckabee win. McCain and Romney both would LOVE to see him leave and leave the race fast.

Shh! Don’t Tell Anyone, But McCain’s Running Away With New Hampshire
