Rudy Giuliani Unveils His Tax Plan

Mayor Rudy Giuliani sat down with the Fox Business Network’s Neil Cavuto and talked about his plan for the biggest tax cut in American history. In addition to cutting the capital gains from 15% to 10% and slashing the corporate tax from 35% to 25%, Rudy said that his plan would provide much needed tax relief for individuals across all income levels.
Again, some of the specifics:
- Make permanent the bush tax cuts NOW…not in 2010
- Permanently index the alternative minimum tax (AMT) and then eliminate it when practical (no timetable)
- Get rid of the Death Tax
- Lower the capitol gains and dividend rate to 10% and index to inflation. (Here is where he could go further and actually eliminate the capitol gains tax)
- Lower corporate tax rate from 35% to 25%
- Trio of tax free savings accounts – Roth style – available to ALL income classes
- Tax simplication strategy – one page tax return
- Three rates – 10% (40k), 15% (150k), and 30% (150k )
The interactive FAST (Fair and Simple Tax) Form that Flap promised is here. Go check it out……
Even more details of the Plan are here.
Pat Toomey of the Club for Growth has praised the plan:
“Giuliani’s tax cut plan will encourage capital formation, and capital is the key driver of productivity, higher wages, and a better standard of living for all Americans,†Mr. Toomey continued. “He does that by not only lowering the capital gains and dividends rates, but also by indexing capital gains to inflation. Also, the Mayor’s plan dramatically lowers marginal tax rates at the personal and corporate level, which will encourage a significant burst of economic activity and growth.â€
“The current U.S. tax code is a monstrosity of inefficiency and deterrence, with some of the highest corporate tax rates in the developed world and a tax code that totals more than 66,000 pages. Mayor Giuliani’s tax cut proposal today would dramatically move the American tax code and economy in the right direction. This is exactly the kind of plan economic conservatives should embrace.â€
And, what Flap likes are the lowering of the marginal rates and the optional filing of the FAST (Fair and Simple Tax) form. If your taxes are lower using the conventional 1040 then you have the option every year to choose the method of filing that is the best and lowest for you.

Is Rudy Giuliani Behind in Florida?
The dumbasses, including Carl Cameron, over at Fox News said twice this afternoon that Rudy Giuliani was in fourth place in Florida.
Not true according to the Real Clear Politics averages.
Rudy is in first place and leads a crowded field handily.
Fox is referring to a Datamar poll which is a Robo-poll (automated dialer) and obviously an outlier.
Of course, we saw last night how good the pollsters and pundits are anyway in predicting last night’s Obama victory in New Hampshire.

Rudy Giuliani Unveils Largest Tax Cut in American History
The Giuliani “Fast Form”
Rudy Giuliani unveiled today in Florida a plan to provide the largest tax cut in American history.
The Giuliani tax cut plan would extend the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts immediately; eliminate the Death Tax completely; lower the capital gains and dividends tax rate to 10% and index capital gains to inflation; lower the corporate tax rate from 35% to 25%; and permanently index the Alternative Minimum Tax to inflation with a plan for eventual elimination.
The Giuliani tax cut plan also contains a particularly bold pro-growth tax simplification strategy that would give taxpayers the option of opting into a simple tax plan in which their taxes could be done on one page. Instead of the current tax behemoth, the voluntary tax plan would constitute across the board cuts in marginal tax rates by proposing three simple rates of 10%, 15%, and 30%.
Flap doesn’t know if this is the largest tax cut in the history of America but it does make it simpler, retains progessivity and allows Americans to keep more of their hard earned cash. It is a bold innovative plan that coupled with cuts in federal spending will be growth inducing.
Flap understands that Rudy will have a sample “Fast Form” at his web site: JoinRudy2008.com soon where the taxpayer can enter their own numbers to estimate their taxes under this plan.
More later…..

Rudy Giuliani Watch: A BIG difference Between Rudy and McCain

Rudy Giuliani Economic Advisor David Malpass sat down with CNBC’s Squawk Box to talk about Rudy’s new tax plan. Today in Florida, Rudy will lay out his comprehensive tax plan to cut taxes and help the economy grow, including a plan to allow all Americans to file their taxes on a single sheet of paper while lowering tax rates across all income brackets.
A BIG difference between Rudy Giuliani and John MCain?
John McCain voted against President Bush’s tax cuts and one BIGGER:
….. Giuliani would likely run a far more conventionally conservative presidency across the board than McCain. McCain delights liberals and loves to work with them. Giuliani infuriates liberals and if anything loves sticking it to them….
Rudy is the PERFECT opponent against Hillary Clinton and can lead the GOP to victory in November.

NHS Blog Doctor is Back
William Kelly, 43, extracted part of his own tooth, leaving a black stump. He plans to pull one more.
Dr. John Crippen from the NHS Blog Doctor has returned to the blogosphere.
Flap enjoys reading about this physician’s trials and tribulations while he fights the absurdity of the National Health Service in the United Kingdom.
If Americans want an insight as to what HILLARY CARE or ARNOLD CARE would provide the United States, read Dr. Crippen’s blog.

Iran Claims U.S. Navy Video a “Clumsy Fake”

Newly released video shows Iran Revolutionary Guard small boats confronting United States Naval vessels on routine patrol in the Persian Gulf.
Iran claims the video above is a fake.
Stephen Hadley, President Bush’s National Security Advisor had this to say:
National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley also warned Iran against any repetition, saying the incident “came very close to resulting in an altercation between our forces and their forces.
“They’ve got to be very careful about this, because if it happens again, they are going to bear the consequences of that incident,” he said.
“And we think the Iranians need to be on notice that they are fishing in troubled waters here.”
Which means?
Do it again and we will blow your little boats out of the water and punish your country with a counter-strike.
Get it?

Day By Day by Chris Muir January 9, 2008
Is the money continuing to pour into your coffers, Chris? Good for you.
Now, that the pundits and polls were outlandishly wrong in writing off Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, the Norman Hsu scandal will live on with a renewed Hillary campaign.
Although Hsu has been sentenced to prison in California, Flap believes the Federal investigation will come back and bite Hillary and other California politicians in the ass.
