Obama and McCain Win the Potomac Primary Elections
John McCain and Barack Obama were the big winners tonight in the Potomac Primary elections in Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C..
If these two both win their party’s nomination (McCain is an almost certainty) there will be quite a contrast between candidates.
So, what will it be: symbolism or substance?
Flap gives the edge to symbolism and Obama.

Ron Paul Watch: The Fantasy of a Revolution
As Ron Paul returns to run in his GOP dominated Texas Congressional District there is talk of a permanent Ron Paul revolution after this November.
Paul has raised $400,000 for the TX-14 race, Benton said. Paul cannot use his presidential funds for congressional primary, since he has not withdrawn. The campaign has about $5 million on hand for the presidential race, Benton said.
Paul’s goal, Benton added, is to get a substantial delegation to convention (they estimate they’ll have about 42 delegates) get a good speaking spot, and “spread the conservative message.”
On the $5 million, Benton said, “We’re not looking to take any with us. We’re going to spend it on what donors contributed it for.” Even though he said they’re “looking to spend every dime on the presidential race,” he acknowledged that there is certainly an “organization that has been built out of this campaign” that they will use after the presidential race, including their more than 300,000-person e-mail list.
In the meantime, FactCheck.org BITCH SLAPS Paulites back to reality.

Iran Nuclear Watch: Israel – Iran Moving Forward with Nuclear Weapons
Israel’s Prime Minister Ehud Olmert (L) and German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrive for a news conference following their talks in the Chancellery in Berlin February 12, 2008. Olmert said on Tuesday that all options should be considered in international efforts aimed at preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
Iran is developing ever sophisticated ballistic missiles and is stepping up uranium enrichment for supposedly peaceful energy generating purposes. Does anyone REALLY believe that Iran is NOT secretly developing nuclear weapons?
Israel’s prime minister on Tuesday brushed aside suggestions that the threat from Iran’s nuclear program has receded, saying he remains convinced that Tehran is “moving forward” with plans for an atomic weapon.
A U.S. intelligence report in December found Tehran had halted its program in 2003. However, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told reporters that “nothing that we know has changed our attitude on this issue.”
“Tell me, why does Iran need enriched uranium at a time when they are supplied by (the) Russians the nuclear fuel for the civilian projects? … What else do they plan for which they need the most sophisticated ballistic missiles?”
President Bush has “PUNTED” the Iran nuclear issue to the next President with the December NIE. But, Israel has their very existence at stake.
This issue will be debated and stalled in the IAEA and UNSC but will be on the front burner for the next President in February 2009.
Stay tuned……

Day By Day by Chris Muir February 12, 2008
Flap bets Huckabee loses today in the Potomac primaries and is mathematically eliminated from winning the GOP nomination. Questions will then be asked of him as to why he is continuing on with a losing campaign. Huck may stay until March 4 when Texas and Ohio vote.
Hillary will be routed today in the Potomac by Obama but there are Florida and Michigan delegates in which Hillary may sue to count her primary victories . In addition, there are the Super-Delegates which Hillary should draw some support.
The Democrats may be heading towards a “BROKERED” Convention this summer.
A broken divided Democrat Party may be the GOP’s only hope for victory in the Fall.

Of course, McCain can win. He appeals to the Reagan Democrats and Independents which the GOP needs in the Heartland to win.
