Hillary Clinton Watch: Sniper Fire in Bosnia – A Misstatement
CBS news exposes the real story of Hillary Clinton’s 1996 trip to Bosnia.Remember the beginning of SNIPERGATE yesterday evening.
Obama has Jeremiah Wright and all of the associated baggage. Now, Hillary is caught in an outright fabrication.
Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign said she “misspoke†last week when saying she had landed under sniper fire during a trip to Bosnia as first lady in March 1996.
The Obama campaign suggested it was a deliberate exaggeration by Clinton, who often cites the goodwill trip with her daughter and several celebrities as an example of her foreign policy experience.
During a speech last Monday on Iraq, she said of the Bosnia trip: “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.â€
According to an Associated Press story at the time, Clinton was placed under no extraordinary risks on that trip. And one of her companions, comedian Sinbad, told The Washington Post he has no recollection either of the threat or reality of gunfire.
And, here is Hillary Clinton today attempting to correct her March 17 comments:
“Last week (March 17), you know, for the first time in 12 or so years I misspoke…”Hillary Clinton on KDKA, Pittsburg, March 25, 2008ONE TIME?
Then, Team Obama fired back this morning.
Really? Below are four instances where Hillary Clinton misremembers sniper fire upon her arrival in Bosnia. (With some video of her reading her remarks.)
Caught in her LIE or EMBELLISHMENT and stated on multiple ocassions, Hillary faces the press again today:
After this FLAP, Hillary then went on offense and played the Obama-Jeremiah Wright card.
End of the day result – both Democrat candidacies have been hurt – A pox on both of their houses.
Flap’s take: Hillary comes off the worse by playing the Obama-Wright race card with little additional uptake from the Kool-Aid drinking Obama loving MSM.Stay tuned for another round of the Hillary vs. Obama fight tomorrow.

Hillary Clinton News Conference March 25, 2008 where she criticizes Barack Obama and Jeremiah Wright
Earlier today (see the video above) Hillary Clinton played the Barack Obama – Jeremiah Wright card by directly criticizing their long association:
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, in a wide-ranging interview today with Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporters and editors, said she would have left her church if her pastor made the sort of inflammatory remarks Sen. Barack Obama’s former pastor made.
“He would not have been my pastor,†Clinton said. “You don’t choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend.†(Emphasis Flap)
“You know, I spoke out against Don Imus (who was fired from his radio and television shows after making racially insensitive remarks), saying that hate speech was unacceptable in any setting, and I believe that,†Clinton said. “I just think you have to speak out against that. You certainly have to do that, if not explicitly, then implicitly by getting up and moving.â€
A little while ago, Barack Obama pushed back.
“After originally refusing to play politics with this issue, it’s disappointing to see Hillary Clinton’s campaign sink to this low in a transparent effort to distract attention away from the story she made up about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia. The truth is, Barack Obama has already spoken out against his pastor’s offensive comments and addressed the issue of race in America with a deeply personal and uncommonly honest speech. The American people deserve better than tired political games that do nothing to solve the larger challenges facing this country,†said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.
Al Gore looking good to anyone yet?

Hillary Clinton Plays Obama – Jeremiah Wright Card
Hillary Clinton did NOT wait long to play the Barack Obama – Jeremiah Wright Card.
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, in a wide-ranging interview today with Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reporters and editors, said she would have left her church if her pastor made the sort of inflammatory remarks Sen. Barack Obama’s former pastor made.
“He would not have been my pastor,” Clinton said. “You don’t choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend.” (Emphasis Flap)
“You know, I spoke out against Don Imus (who was fired from his radio and television shows after making racially insensitive remarks), saying that hate speech was unacceptable in any setting, and I believe that,” Clinton said. “I just think you have to speak out against that. You certainly have to do that, if not explicitly, then implicitly by getting up and moving.”
Flap bets Hillary has NOT seen sufficient movement in the polls for her liking. So, she revives the race based Jeremiah Wright issue to help things along.
The Hillary – Obama War is the gift that keeps on giving to John McCain and the GOP.
But, what about this?

Hillary Clinton Watch: The Audacity of Hopelessness

CBS news exposes the real story of Hillary Clinton’s 1996 trip to Bosnia.
The story yesterday about Hillary Clinton’s LIE about being under sniper fire in Bosnia would be the “STAKE IN THE HEART” for most Presidential candidates. But, not Hillary Clinton.
Why?
David Brooks explains – Hillary and the “The Audacity of Hopelessness:”
Why does she go on like this? Does Clinton privately believe that Obama is so incompetent that only she can deliver the policies they both support? Is she simply selfish, and willing to put her party through agony for the sake of her slender chance? Are leading Democrats so narcissistic that they would create bitter stagnation even if they were granted one-party rule?
The better answer is that Clinton’s long rear-guard action is the logical extension of her relentlessly political life.
For nearly 20 years, she has been encased in the apparatus of political celebrity. Look at her schedule as first lady and ever since. Think of the thousands of staged events, the tens of thousands of times she has pretended to be delighted to see someone she doesn’t know, the hundreds of thousands times she has recited empty clichés and exhortatory banalities, the millions of photos she has posed for in which she is supposed to appear empathetic or tough, the billions of politically opportune half-truths that have bounced around her head.
No wonder the Clinton campaign feels impersonal. It’s like a machine for the production of politics. It plows ahead from event to event following its own iron logic. The only question is whether Clinton herself can step outside the apparatus long enough to turn it off and withdraw voluntarily or whether she will force the rest of her party to intervene and jam the gears.
So, who will tell Hillary that it is over?
A draft of Al Gore for President.

And, the LEFT candidates for President including many of their supporters are grown from old Hippie cells frozen from the 1960’s.
The RIGHT can hurl the insults too, but, would rather just win the arguments.
