Executions in California may resume by the end of the year — with one inmate being put to death by lethal injection each month — as a result of today’s Supreme Court ruling, a high-level state prosecutor said.

Chief Assistant Atty. Gen. Dane Gillette, who has defended the state’s lethal injection procedures against a federal court challenge, said he believes it is “certainly feasible” to resume executions by the end of the year.

U.S. District Judge Jeremy Fogel in San Jose had ordered a temporary halt to executions in California after finding the state’s lethal injection procedures were unconstitutional. A decision by Fogel on whether a new execution protocol by the state meets constitutional requirements is pending.

A hearing in the case has been set for June, but Gillette said it may be moved up as a result of today’s high court ruling. The state plans to ask Fogel to lift his court order and permit executions to resume.

Even if Fogel rules quickly for the state, another legal challenge pending in a California appellate court will prevent the state from executing inmates immediately. Gillette said the state would press for a quick resolution in that case, which was unaffected by the Supreme Court decision.

Resuming executions this year “means a lot of things falling our way, but I think that is entirely possible,” Gillette said.

Federal Judge Jeremy Fogel’s ruling was CRAP and now the Supremes have overturned a bogus attempt to end capital punishment by lethal injection in this country.

The San Quentin “OLD” execution chamber has been remodeled and an updated execution protocol will be adjusted in accordance with today’s U.S. Supreme Court holdings.

Michale Morales has been in prison for over twenty-seven years for the brutal murder by claw-hammer and knife of Terri Lyn Winchell. Morales raped her in the dirt after hitting her in the head 23 times with a claw hammer. He then stabbled her four times to make sure she was dead.

This bastard has been duly convicted of his crimes in a California court of law and the sentence imposed by the court is death.

Morales will be the next to die for his crimes.

Time for justice for Terri Lynn Winchell.

“I will continue to defend the death penalty and the will of the people, and I am confident that California’s lethal injection protocol will be upheld,” Schwarzenegger said.

Governor, it is time for your office to enforce the law of California as voted into law by the people of California in 1978.

The Supreme Court upheld Kentucky’s use of lethal injection executions Wednesday.

The justices, by a 7-2 vote, turned back a constitutional challenge to the procedures in place in Kentucky, which uses three drugs to sedate, paralyze and kill inmates.

“We … agree that petitioners have not carried their burden of showing that the risk of pain from maladministration of a concededly humane lethal injection protocol, and the failure to adopt untried and untested alternatives, constitute cruel and unusual punishment,” Chief Justice John Roberts said in an opinion that garnered only three votes. Four other justices, however, agreed with the outcome.

So, let’s get on with the execution of Michael Morales. Certainly, the State of California has finished upgrading the death chamber at San Quentin?

Democrat Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania

John McCain is too old to be President says Democrat Congressman John Murtha.

Murtha told a union audience Wednesday that the presidency is “no old man’s job.” The Pennsylvania congressman is supporting Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Murtha is 75, four years older than McCain. He says they are nearly the same age, and the rigors and stress of the presidential campaign is too much for guys their age.

If elected, McCain will be the oldest president to occupy the Oval Office at the age of 72.

Flap agrees and has written the same and is why he supported Rudy Giuliani for President. But, GOP voters said otherwise.

In choosing a President between an “old” John McCain and an inexperienced, left-wing radical in Barack Obama, Flap will vote for McCain. As for Hillary, who Murtha supports, I’ll take McCain over a corrupt political opportunist any day.

The latest “BITTER-GATE” flap has Democrats questioning their prospects in the November general election for the Presidency.

In Pennsylvania, as well as coming primaries in Indiana and North Carolina, did Mr. Obama provide another excuse for white voters to voice qualms about his candidacy without acknowledging that it is his race that troubles them? If he defeats Mrs. Clinton, will accusations of elitism dog him as they have previous Democratic nominees? Does Senator John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, suddenly have an issue that will resonate for the next six months?

It is the criticism from Republicans, though, that worries many Democrats. A senior adviser to Mr. McCain, Steve Schmidt, told reporters on Tuesday that Mr. Obama’s comments were “condescending and elitist” and that they would keep up the criticism “for the duration of Senator Obama’s candidacy.”

Let’s look at the Electoral College and the polling state by state.

Both of the maps above portray an electoral college win for John McCain. Flap feels they portray a conservative snapshot of the race. But, the sea of red spreading across the Midwest and South is unmistakable.

The Republican National Committee must be licking their chops at what appeared a few months ago as a likely losing year in 2008.
