Actually since Gallegly followed Bush’s lead nearly 100% of the time, it shows clear difficulty with independent thinking on his part, not to mention little concern for the welfare of the 24th district, not to mention our nation. Are you enjoying what you are paying at the gas pump or in the grocery store? When corporate interests rule, there is little concern for the middle class. Why provide more tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations? What are they doing for the middle class? At this point, a $600 check from the government pays for little beyond a 6 tanks of gas. I think it’s a lot more than the “left” that aren’t happy with Mr. Gallegly.

I love discussing politics with Repubs. As with your remark “Are you socialist too?”, Repubs seem to always resort to name calling as a first line of attack. Ooooo…..socialist…isn’t that close to communist?

As far as your comments above, here are a few points I’d like to make:

1. I don’t think Gallegly is a Rocket Scientist, in fact I’m concerned about his ability to command any independent thinking at all. Again, viewing his voting record will clearly support this point. Legislation he has brought about is elementary in nature and totally misses the mark of issues facing the nation, not to mention the 24th district.

2. Your comment “Elton Gallegly votes with the GOP and President Bush most of the time” proposes an interesting thought. I think you’ve left out a key phrase however, that is House Representative of the 24th District. Gallegly should be representing us, not George Bush or the GOP. Failing to do that brings me back to point 1 above, which you have supported with your remarks.

3. Hasn’t Gallegly urged the planting of flowers on the 118? Is this instead of cleaning up the toxic disaster in the Simi Valley area from the meltdown?

4. With our economy at it’s worst, under George Bush, is it really effective to work on legislation to adopt a coin for Ronald Reagan? This is while spending the rest of the time voting for what the ruinous Bush-Cheney-Rove wants? Very strange priority. Do you think folks in the 24th are impressed? Personally in speaking with folks in the community, I haven’t found any folks impressed with Gallegly or George Bush (the head of the GOP), have you?

5. When you ask folks in the 24th “What has this Republican administration done for you over these last 7+ years”, do you think they can verbalize something tangible?

Beside the state of our economy, do you have any awareness of our standing in the world and the amount of international enemies we have racked up?

Additionally, have you ever called for tech support on a computer? Is there a reason why we can’t get an American to help through tech support? Are those jobs either beneath us, or is it that our corporations can hire cheaper in other countries, leave Americans without jobs, while also charging more for goods and services we receive in this country.

Has there been any forward thinking with the GOP? The amount of taxes one pays is a minor point when one can’t get a job because the corporation was able to hire cheaper in another nation.

These are quite simplistic examples and you will likely respond by saying the typical Republican “every man for himself” spiel, but when the middle class just can’t cut it anymore because of the prices of gas, food, services, etc., and wealthy (corporate) continue to get wealthier…..are you that wealthy by the way… where is the quality of life we previously enjoyed?

As far as expanse of government… hasn’t the GOP traditionally called for “less government”. Strange as now we have “more government” than ever. We’re spending more than ever in the middle east and creating a debt that will be passed down through the ages. Sure Republican’s can “decrease taxes” if that mantra massages your brain, but when everything you need and do costs more, where is the benefit?

Gallegly and the GOP are history.

I was clearly making a joke there. But I would appreciate your moving beyond your patronizing question and focus/respond on the points I mentioned.

There you go again, attempting to derail the conversation and spin.

1. I called you question “patronizing” not you. And the question was that.

2. I think the point I made was quite clear.

Do you have an opinion? I did write a lengthy statement.

Rather than attempting to categorize, as to whether one is a socialist, left, martian, etc., it might be best to discuss points of view. My cappuccino is getting cold.

I will gladly discuss any points of public policy, legislation, the current path of this nation/district whenever you are willing to discuss the issues as opposed to the categories of names.
