Tony Strickland Watch: California State Senate Campaign Surpasses $1 Million In Fundraising

The Strickland for Senate Campaign kicked off its general election push with final primary returns showing an advantage of thousands of votes over their democratic opponent and also announcing it has surpassed the $1 million fundraising goal it had set out to reach by the June 3rd primary election. The exact dollar amount raised and collected was $1,010,616. The campaign had expected to reach or exceed the fundraising benchmark and today’s announcement, combined with primary election numbers, confirms the early success of a growing volunteer and fundraising effort.

“I am extremely humbled and thankful for the votes and efforts of my supporters in this campaign.” Strickland said, “I am ready to build on the broad support we’ve witnessed and I am encouraged by all who have given to our cause. I am confident in my team and this campaign will continue to work hard and carry our positive momentum through November.”

The Strickland for Senate Campaign attributes their early success to an increasing and dynamic volunteer effort that spans the entire District. A successful GOTV effort and months of weekly precinct walks paid dividends and the volunteer list grows daily.

The Tony Strickland Campaign will be hosting a fundriaser in Westlake Village, June 17th, featuring former Massachusett’s Governor and GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

It looks like this race which may very well determine the partisan 2/3’s balance of the California State Senate will be an expensive one.
