Michael Ramirez on Barack Obama

Even the Left is calling Barack Obama presumptuous.

As he marches toward Inauguration Day (Election Day is but a milestone on that path), Obama’s biggest challenger may not be Republican John McCain but rather his own hubris.

Some say the supremely confident Obama — nearly 100 days from the election, he pronounces that “the odds of us winning are very good” — has become a president-in-waiting. But in truth, he doesn’t need to wait: He has already amassed the trappings of the office, without those pesky decisions.

Not bad for a rookie (serving less than even one term) in the United States Senate. After all, he is the Obamessiah for the Democrats and apparently the Germans.

Ludacris celebrates: “Obama is here”

Former California Governor and Attorney General Jerry Brown

Jerry Brown is in classic “MOONBEAM” form as he prepares to succeed Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010. Look at Jerry just this week:

and……

  • Cynically altering the ballot designation (title and summary) for the California Protect Marriage Constitutional Amendment - Proposition 8.

Both are political moves to shore up his radical left-wing base against fellow Democrat San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom.

Gad, it is the 1970’s all over again.

Maybe this will revive an otherwise moribund California GOP?

John McCain’s latest Television Ad: “Celeb.”

Team McCain released a new television ad today featuring Barack Obama as a “CELEB.”

The Script:

ANNCR: He’s the biggest celebrity in the world.

But, is he ready to lead?

With gas prices soaring, Barack Obama says no to offshore drilling.

And, says he’ll raise taxes on electricity.

Higher taxes, more foreign oil, that’s the real Obama.

JOHN MCCAIN: I’m John McCain and I approved this message.

The ad will air on national cable and key states according to the press release.

Attracting 200,000 German fans for the rockstar Obama is one thing but try telling that to the average American family who is suffering from increased gasoline prices.

Obama’s Dr. No solution - HIGHER TAXES and NO NEW DOMESTIC DRILLING.

Symbolism over substance = Obama

The latest from The National Enquirer on the John Edwards and his mistress-love child flap

Mickey Kaus says The National Enquirer has moved onto the “coverup” of the John Edwards, paid off mistress and love child story rather than publish the photographs of their reporters run-in with Edwards last week.

In context, the photos would be powerful evidence. Enquirer editor David Perel apparently doesn’t want to win over the MSM by releasing them. He’d rather have the Edwards story all to himself.

An interview of the Los Angeles Times blogmeister Tony Pierce offers the MSM standard excuses of why they buried the story and continue to do so today. Or is it ignoring?

Of course, if Edwards had been a GOP Senator or Presidential candidate, all of the Los Angeles Times bloggers would have been directed to cover the story.

This story will remain moribund until The National Enquirer decides to release at least one of the photographs of the fleeing and/or cowering Edwards or breaks more of which they have promised.

Day By Day by Chris Muir

The bounce in the polls for “Obamessiah’s World Tour” is minimal. Does this spell trouble for the Obama campaign?

Yes

“The One” has defined himself as an “We Are The World” elitist and directed the campaign to be a referendum on him. Plus, polls show that Obama’s foreign travels have energized voters for John McCain.
