Maria Comella is rejoining the political arena on Monday when she starts with Team McCain’s Vice President operations.Yes, she wrote the popular “Hizzoners Highlights” daily e-mail which always brought a human, comedic touch to the campaign trail.
Does this mean Rudy will be McCain’s Vice President selection?
McCain did say he would consider a pro-choice VP, didn’t he?

John Edwards Watch: Senator Susan Collins Does Not Believe Edwards
U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R- Maine speculated on a live radio broadcast Wednesday that former Democratic U.S. Sen. John Edwards is the likely father of a child born to a woman with whom he recently admitted having an affair, Rielle HunterIsn’t this what most folks, especially women believe? In the video above around 2:10..The Key Quote:
“I mean, why is he sneaking in,†Collins said. “My staff’s so appalled that I’m discussing this right now. But would he be sneaking into the hotel in the middle of the night to see a child who’s not his? I don’t think so.â€
One of the hosts agreed: “I mean, you have to be so narcissistic and think so highly of yourself, to think that we would be so stupid to believe that you would actually be going to a hotel, just for no reason, just in the middle of the night for no reason. It makes no sense.â€
Collins added, “At 2:30 in the morning. And then hide in the bathroom.â€
Now, Fox News is reporting that there is some question as to whether some of John Edward’s PAC money was used to pay off Rielle Hunter. Here is more about the PAC payments to Hunter.
The National Enquirer says they have more dirt to deliver up on this affair.
Stay tuned……

United States and Poland Agree on Missile Defense Deal – The Russian Response
Yesterday the United States and Poland signed a preliminary missile defense deal and in typical reactionary mode Russia has responded.A top Russian general said Friday that Poland’s agreement to accept a U.S. missile interceptor base exposes the ex-communist nation to attack, possibly by nuclear weapons, the Interfax news agency reported.
The statement by Gen. Anatoly Nogovitsyn is the strongest threat that Russia has issued against the plans to put missile defense elements in former Soviet satellite nations.
“Poland, by deploying (the system) is exposing itself to a strike — 100 percent,” Nogovitsyn, the deputy chief of staff, was quoted as saying.
He added, in clear reference to the agreement, that Russia’s military doctrine sanctions the use of nuclear weapons “against the allies of countries having nuclear weapons if they in some way help them.” Nogovitsyn that would include elements of strategic deterrence systems, he said, according to Interfax.
As if Poland would be “safe” from Russian expansionism or a nuclear strike anyway.
The bloom is off the Putin rose in a resurgence of “Cold War” Russia. Typical Russian threats and why the United States and Europe need to strengthen NATO.
Do you think the EU will get the message or will they appease again?

Barack Obama Watch: Joe Biden as Vice President?
Senator Joe Biden, D-Del: “You cannot go to a 7-11 or Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian Accent.”Patrick Ruffini says PLEASE let it be Joe Biden.I’m just passing on the latest I’m hearing–that Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) is moving up on the list of potential running mates for presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.). While Obama’s heart may go towards Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine–his head takes him to a more experienced pick, a Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) or Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Slow Joe Plagiarising Biden would be a catastrophic choice for the Democrats between his racist Indian-American comments and his repeated plagiarism.
But, hey, if Obama does not want to choose Hillary, why not?

Barack Obama Watch: Inflate Your Tires or Drill?
Barack Obama’s answer to meeting energy demandsRemember when Barack Obama downplayed the idea of domestic offshore oil production and recommended Americans simply “inflate your tires” or have regular car tuneups?Remember how he was ridiculed by John McCain, Rush Limbaugh and the GOP?
Motorists could save more than 1 billion gallons of fuel a year, right now. But expanded offshore drilling would eventually produce even more.
But we also figure that expanded offshore drilling is projected to produce far more oil eventually than can be saved by proper tire inflation – nearly three times as much even by the conservative estimate of government experts, and more than 10 times as much if an industry-endorsed estimate is correct. And even taking into account additional fuel savings from tune-ups, which Obama also mentioned, he greatly exaggerated.
Americans want (as demonstrated in the polls) more domestic oil production. It is a national security issue.
Barack Obama’s energy solutions are naive and simplistic.
There is little doubt that America will need to increase domestic oil discovery and production if America wishes to maintain its quality of life. The facts are facts.
