Tony Strickland Watch: “Unthinkable”
Tony Strickland’s second television ad: “Unthinkable”Tony Strickland who is running for California State Senate, District 19, is “on air” with his second television ad of his campaign. Entitled “Unthinkable” the ad seeks to remind us that our economy is threatened by our dependence on foreign oil. Moreover, Strickland seeks to highlight some of the truly incredible technologies that were themselves unthinkable only five years ago and that may in fact lead the transition to a renewable economy that will create new, high paying jobs. The Script:
“Unthinkable”
$5 gas?
Unthinkable just a decade ago.
As California transitions to a renewable, more energy efficient economy, innovation and technology will lead the way.
Solar foil, ocean waves, even energy from algae.
I’m Tony Strickland.
Renewable energy will create better jobs, lower energy prices and improve our environment, freeing us from our dependence on foreign oil.
Renewable energy….it’s good for the economy and it’s good for California.
I’m Tony Strickland.
As you know Flap is supporting Republican Tony Strickland for the California State Senate.
Tony Strickland’s Facebook page is here.
Strickland’s California State Senate website is here.
And, while you are thinking about, go here and send Tony a few bucks to finance his media campaign.

John McCain Watch: Pro-Choice Vice President?
Maria Comella, Deputy Communications Director of Rudy Giuliani for President on the right and Rudy Giuliani in Santa Barbara, California September 27, 2007. Photo By Flap
Rich Lowry over at National Review says that Team McCain has been calling key state Republican officials and sounding them out about the consequences of a pro-choice Vice President pick. Most pundits have been focusing on former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge and Independent/former Democrat Senator Joe Lieberman.
But, remember last week when it was announced that Maria Comella was joining Team McCain’s Vice President operation. And, for whom did Comella immediately work?
Pro-Choice, former New York Mayor and Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani.
Could it be Rudy?
Flap thinks it would be a reach but certainly Rudy would be a more forceful and an attack-dog type Vice Presidential candidate. And, nobody from National Review is panning him – even now.
Rudy Giuliani would be a good choice for Vice President and with all of the John Edwards sex, mistress, love child scandal Rudy’s personal baggage might be more ancient history. And, should Obama choose the racist remarking, plagiarizing Joe Biden as Vice President…..
But, Flap thinks McCain will play it safe with Tim Pawlenty, the Governor of Minnesota.
Update:
Kathryn Jean Lopez has picked up on It’s Rudy.
I don’t think it’s being floated for Liebermann or Ridge.
I think he’s considering Giuliani.
– Might put NY in enough play to make Obama spend a lot of money there.
– Has name recognition and gets plenty of respect on law enforcement/national security
– Might be more palatable to pro-lifers if he were to make clear that it’s McCain’s pro-life administrationMichelle Malkin is already shuddering at the prospect of McRudy.
But, would she rather have flipper Romney?

Iran Nuclear Watch: More Nuclear Power Plants
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (centre) and unidentified officials are pictured at a space station at an undisclosed location in Iran on August 16. Iran has said that a home-built rocket sent into space in a move that triggered US concern over possible military use will be able to take a satellite into low orbit around the earth
More targets for the Israeli Air Force.Iran’s official news agency says the country is preparing to build more nuclear power plants.
Tuesday’s IRNA report quotes Ahmad Fayyazbakhsh, the head of a state-owned nuclear energy production company.
He says his company signed agreements with other domestic firms to find locations to build new nuclear power plants. He says the process could take about 13 months.
Iran has previously announced plans to build six more nuclear power plants by 2021.
Iran rubs Israel’s nose in the development of ultimate weapon. In the meantime, the uranium enrichment centrifuges continue to spin at Natanz as Iran’s nuclear weapon development program continues unabated.

Day By Day by Chris Muir August 19, 2008
Day By Day by Chris MuirYou mean John McCain performed better in a debate/forum than the Obamamessiah?Oh the Humanity! And, what can it all mean?
It means everyone now knows why Obama would not agree to a series of townhall debates with McCain. Obama is all celebrity and no substance – all of the time.
The allegations that John McCain must have cheated (knew the questions in advance) are just “sour grapes” and silly – but typical of the “elitist” left.

Barack Obama and unrepentant Weatherman Bill Ayers worked together on public school reform in Chicago for several years through the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, co-founded by Bill Ayers and originally chaired by Barack Obama. This aspect of the Ayers/Obama relationship got surprisingly short shrift when Obama was asked about Ayers at the Philadelphia debate and has also been concealed by the Obama website's "Fact Check" and in their recent denunciation of Jerome Corsi's book.
