We thought that those MSNBC honchos said Olbermann played it straight down the middle when hosting these political events? Tell that to Charles Babington, an AP writer who dared to express mild criticism of some aspects of Obama's Thursday night speech. He got scorched by the impartial Edward R Olbermann and told to find a new line of work!
Olby's outburst was so extraordinary that even the Keith-friendly Editor & Publisher couldn't ignore it, calling it "an unusually heated attack on a veteran political reporter by a cable news host".

If you read Wired? Yes. If you read LGF and get the full context of what she said? No. That makes twice already today that quotes of hers were bowdlerized to make them more nutroots-friendly.

Perhaps Rep. Robert Wexler's instincts were right here, and the Obama campaign will likely drive this one home with the Jewish community in Florida and Ohio: Palin and her husband, says former presidential candidate Pat Buchanan , was a "brigader for me in 1996."

Iran has 4,000 working nuclear centrifuges, an official said in remarks published on Friday, in line with a number verified by the U.N. atomic watchdog but lower than a figure cited by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Hillary Clinton praised the historic nature of John McCain's vice presidential selection in a brief statement released Friday that was eagerly anticipated by both presidential campaigns.
“We should all be proud of Governor Sarah Palin's historic nomination, and I congratulate her and Senator McCain," Clinton, the first woman to win a presidential primary, said in the statement. "While their policies would take America in the wrong direction, Governor Palin will add an important new voice to the debate.â€

Barack Obama's campaign is blasting John McCain for putting "the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency."

Barack Obama's campaign is blasting John McCain for putting "the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency."
The scathing description of Sarah Palin, from Obama spokesman Bill Burton, comes as Democrats scramble to gather a response to a selection that nobody in the political world expected.

Alaska GOP Governor Sarah Palin’s Monday interview with CNBC
Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was interviewed by Maria Bartiromo of CNBC on Monday of this week about energy and national security in Alaska. Of course, this was before she was named John McCain’s Vice Presidential running mate.
The entire interview is here at CNBC.
Note how Palin SLAMS Senator and Democrat Vice President nominee Joe Biden for thirty years ago being a naysayer and voting no on the Trans-Alaska oil pipeline.
Flap can hardly wait until Sarah Palin debates Slow Joe this fall.

Dear Friends,
John McCain rolled the dice with his VP pick today – in an attempt to woo women voters.
But we cannot gamble with women’s lives.
Don’t let your friends, family and co-workers be fooled: Alaskan Sarah Palin is a dangerous right-winger who lacks the judgment to lead.
In 2000, Palin endorsed Pat Buchanan for President. Yes, that Pat Buchanan.
In 2006, Palin ran for Alaska Governor on a message of change – and then turned out to be just another corrupt Alaska politician who’s now under investigation in her own state.
She’s no Hillary Clinton. She’s Dan Quayle in a dress.
Women voters who care about equal rights, choice, family and other issues, will not see a partner in Palin.
Help us fight for these issues by electing Democrats up and down the ticket. Click here to donate today:

She is lockstep with Bush and McCain on issues important to women. Every one of them. That’s scary.
The corrupt trio of Ted Stevens, Don Young, and Lisa Murkowski all raised campaign money for Palin.
John McCain claimed that Barack Obama lacked experience. Then he picked a VP who has just 20 months at the helm of a state with a population smaller than the city of Jacksonville, and zero foreign policy experience. Palin would be a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Barack Obama is ready to lead. Last night he showed us what the next American President will look like. He and Joe Biden will deliver change we need.
The stakes are too high to risk another four years of the same. If you have $25, $50 or $100 to spare, please contribute today to the Florida Democratic Party’s campaign to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. We’re on the verge of major change in Florida, but we need your help.
Contribute today.
Sincerely,
Congresswoman Karen L. Thurman
Chair, Florida Democratic Party

Does anyone think these arguments will fly?
First, I never remember Pat Buchanan bombing the United States Capitol or saying God Damn America, now did he?
And, besides, Flap was a Team Buchanan member in 1992 and running for President in the GOP.
The Florida Democrats think what about Tony Rezko, a convicted federal felon raising money for Obama?
Stay tuned……

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain at Ohio announcement rally of the McCain-Palin Republican ticket for President and Vice President
Team Obama has been mocking and belittling Alaska Governor Sarah Palin ever since John McCain named her as his Vice Presidential running mate.
First, after spending the entire campaign talking about how experience isn’t everything, Barack Obama, who’s never held a full-time job for four years, cannot start hitting her on inexperience.
Rove just called the response “petty and small,” and boy, this is going to just further convince the Pumas that sexism drives the Obama campaign.
A poor move?
A stupid move.
Here is the Team McCain response:
“It is pretty audacious for the Obama campaign to say that Governor Palin is not qualified to be Vice President. She has a record of accomplishment that Senator Obama simply cannot match. Governor Palin has spent her time in office shaking up government in Alaska and actually achieving results — whether it’s taking on corruption, passing ethics reform or stopping wasteful spending and the ‘bridge to nowhere.’ Senator Obama has spent his time in office running for President.†–Jill Hazelbaker, McCain Communications Director

It is Sarah Palin, the Governor of Alaska. See Flap’s posts on Sarah Palin here.
The official Team McCain press release.
U.S. Senator John McCain today announced that he has selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate and to serve as his vice president.
Governor Palin is a tough executive who has demonstrated during her time in office that she is ready to be president. She has brought Republicans and Democrats together within her Administration and has a record of delivering on the change and reform that we need in Washington.
Governor Palin has challenged the influence of the big oil companies while fighting for the development of new energy resources. She leads a state that matters to every one of us — Alaska has significant energy resources and she has been a leader in the fight to make America energy independent.
More later……..
