Sarah Palin Rumor Watch: Palin Avoiding Interviews?

SARAH PALIN CSPAN INTERVIEW 2/28/08 / PART 1

Flap has received a few comments on different Sarah Palin posts that say that Sarah Palin avoids interviews.

Hummmm Flap had this one in February and C-Span had the above one in March. And, her 2006 debate when running for Governor of Alaska is here.

Sarah Palin is hardly avoiding media scrutiny as the LEFT wishes to portray. And, she will sit down with ABC news for an exclusive interview.

Sarah Palin should drop everything to be bombarded by the left-wing pundits at MSNBC, like deposed Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann?

Get real.

Flap almost forgot Greta’s special last night on Sarah Palin:

Sorry!

Avoiding the media?

Come on…….

Update:

More on the Charlie Gibson interview which will take place in a few days and will be for two days.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will speak at her son’s Army deployment ceremony on 9/11 and spend two days with ABC News crews later this week as part of a McCain campaign plan to increase Americans’ comfort with her as a leader.

Campaign and network officials had said on Sunday that her first
television interview would be a sit-down with Charles Gibson of ABC’s
“World News.”

But it turns out that she is spending much of Thursday and Friday with
Gibson — at the ceremony in Fairbanks, Alaska, and at her home in Wasilla, Alaska.

Campaign aides said the anchorman will get extensive, repeated access
to Palin throughout her first trip home since becoming the nominee.

“ABC News will have plenty of time to question her and examine her and
spend time with her,” a campaign official said. “They’ll do multiple
interviews over two days. No topics are off-limits – there are no
ground rules. There’s tons of time to talk to her about every topic.”

Come on Flap, in support of your argument that Palin in not avoiding interviews, you point to interviews prior to her selection to be the VP running mate of McCain.

As far as I’m concerned, she should make herself available to all of the major political Sunday shows, as well as other political media. I will be voting for the Republican ticket ( what other choice do I have ) but I don’t believe that Palin has the depth of experience to be a heart beat away from the presidency. She could calm some of my concerns, and no doubt other voters, by taking hard questions without a teleprompter.

  • Flap

Oh please, Dennis. You didn’t even watch the videos. She has made herself available for interviews now and in the immediate past. She will meet with Charlie Gibson in a few days. Can’t you wait?

Going on Meet the Press or another show is required to be Vice President? How ridiculous. Most people don’t even watch those shows. I find Meet the Press so biased I consciously avoid it. In fact, I avoid everything on NBC except for Heroes and some other shows.

Her experience is there in life and in politics. Watch the videos above.

Depth of experience, what does that mean? And, Obama does? What are your criteria?

  • Dennis

Give me a break. When and if she appears before the media ( since she was chosen by McCain ) we can have an intelligent discussion.

I am also more than a little tired of those who argue for Palin’s experience citing Obama. Yes, he lacks the experience to be President. What the hell does that have to do with Palin’s obvious lack of experience.

Let’s stop drinking the Kool- Aide and have a modicum of intellectual honesty.

As far as depth of experience, I don’t think serving on the local PTA; a city council; mayor of a town of less than 7,000; and governor for less than 2 years, cuts it for VP, especially when the President is 72 years old with a history of cancer.

With regards to the media, I assume the McCain campaign will be more than cooperative in exposing Palin to the media, since they claim that McCain puts the country first over politics. Accordingly, they would certainly want the american people to be able to fully evaluate the VP choice. Right?

  • Flap

Yes, your discussion is anything but intelligent.

You ignore the media attention Palin has had over the past six months and you ignore her executive experience. She has been granting interviews since her nomination. See above.

You denigrate her life experience, too?

Sarah Palin is new, fresh and is one of us, a regular person – not a 35 year member of the United States Senate who has had a BRAIN aneurysm . By the way, where are Biden’s medical records? Haven’t been released have they?

Palin is not a “Community Organizer” and professional politician with a Harvard Law Degree. But, Palin did run something and was successful – but alas you disparage it because it was too small for you.

And, she hasn’t been in elected office as long as Biden or Obama. So, this is your criteria for President or Vice President?

  • Aneriz

Palin is not avoiding the media, her handlers are just being selective. With the kind of media attacks that she had endure in such a short amount of time, this might be the right strategy. She is not about to open a movie next week, she doesn’t need to do the morning/late show rounds like brainless celebrities do.

  • Flap

    Here you go, Dennis.

Thank Palin is still avoiding the press or media?

Mccain is showing he is a coniving liar who is trying his best to trick the people of this great nation into letting him and his immensely unqualified vp pick into the White House. STOP being such a coward and let the american people see who this Palin is. Afterall, the odds are she WILL be president, if Mccain is elected. I hope the people of America can see through all the BS.

First I’d like to say that i support all our soldiers, past, present, fallen and those not deployed. I come from a family of soldiers and I love each and ever one of our men and woman whom take orders and will protect us no matter what. but as far as Sarah Palin, Ok she has a name we all recognize now and demands a pretty penny for her appearance. To speak in front of the soldiers her son will deploy with, that wonderful. But forgive, she will play this up using him just like her ex running mate played it up trying to get our pride confused with their ability to run this country. I have to say “who the hell is Sarah Palin. Just like “Anna Nicole Smith”, what have they done. Her followers/supporters are uneducated regular folk like her, but they don’t read, they get out of a news cast what they want. Don’t know anything about politics or in most cases can not even spell. Maybe as a mom she’s pretty cool, maybe as a neighbor before governing Alaska (all 50 of them) no offense Alaskans, just a joke comparing US states to the big wide open spaces of half frozen Alaska. I love Alaska, took a cruise there twice, its one of the beautiful places that we have on earth. Which she was more then willing to sell down the river so to speak, Drill baby drill, willing to sell its natural assests for the sake of getting into washington instead of using the casting couch. When BP’s human error happened, Sarah Palin was the first person I thought of. I have seen her supporters, dumb as a door nob and that is what the republicans, the smart ones are counting on. She needs to hide her head up BP’s ass in shame, had she won vice president, this could have just as well been off the coast of Alaska/Russia lol What a flaming fool. Please wake up those who like her hair or her sweet family. its not a qualification that means squat in politics. thats how we got in the mess we are in, following a self serving group while we went on our merry way being laughed at. OH did you see the new house george W. bought? lovely, he got a real good deal.
