Slavery was an atrocity that was thankfully abolished but people do need to appreciate that it is no longer an issue and 99% of blac people will not have experienced slavery. Also, it wasn't just black people who were enslaved. Millions of white Europeans were kidnapped and sold into slavery. It was merely a reflection of the messed up times people lived in. What happened to black people in Africa was awful - a disgusting period of time, but unfortunately history is full of them. I think it's time we learned to forgive and forget.
