John McCain Watch: Ripping Babs and Obama

John McCain in Ohio this afternoon

John McCain rips Barack Obama and his celebrity friend Barbara Streisand who is hosting a $28,5000 a plate fundraising dinner tonight in Beverly Hills.

    Key Graph:

“Now I believe America’s best days are ahead of us. Governor Palin and I are going to reform Wall Street. We’re going to reform Washington. I’m going to fight for you and I’m going to lead our nation forward in the greatest periods of prosperity in its history. And let’s have some straight talk. Senator Obama is not interested in the politics of hope, he’s interested in his political future and that’s why he’s hurling in insults and making up facts about his record.

“Today, he claimed that the Congressional stimulus package was his idea. That’s news to those of us in Congress who supported it. Senator Obama didn’t even show up to vote.

“He talks a tough game on the financial crisis, but the facts tell a different story. Senator Obama took more money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac than anyone but the chairman of the committee they answer to. And he put Fannie Mae’s CEO, who helped create this problem in charge of finding his Vice President. That’s not change, that’s what’s broken in Washington.

“He talked about siding with the people, siding with the people, just before he flew off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends. Let me tell you, my friends, there is no place I’d rather be, than here, with the working men and women of Ohio. I’m going to fight for you and together we’re going to win in November.”

Tonight, Senator McCain and Governor Palin will be having dinner at a diner in Ohio.

Tom McClintock Watch: “Charlie Brown Was There”

Republican California State Senator Tom McClintock’s latest campaign ad: “Charlie Brown Was There”

California State Senator Tom McClintock (R-Thousand Oaks) who is running for the CA-4 Congressional seat is “on air” with this campaign ad that shows his opponent in military uniform (2005) at a Sacramento home (remember left-wing activists, Virginia and Stephen Pearcy)  and remember Stephen Pearcy’s art protesting the Iraq War.

Charlie Brown has denied he wore his uniform but the image in the video shows otherwise.

Charlie Brown is just another LIAR.

Are You Running for President or CEO?

Carly Fiorina, former CEO of Hewlett Packard and McCain campaign surrogate

Folks are getting their shorts tied up in knots about former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina first saying:

“Do you think [Sarah Palin] has the experience to run a major company, like Hewlett Packard?” asked the host.

“No, I don’t,” responded Fiorina. “But you know what? That’s not what she’s running for.”

The rest of Fiorina’s statement is:

Appearing on the McGraw Milhaven Show on St. Louis KTRS Radio, Fiorina went on to stress that the Alaska Republican had more executive experience than anyone else on the ticket, specifically Barack Obama.

“I find it quite stunning actually that the Barack Obama campaign is questioning Sarah Palin’s experience,” she said. “She has more executive experience than he does and she is the vice presidential nominee and he is the presidential nominee.”

Then, Fiorina went on MSNBC to say neither could John McCain, Joe Biden and Barack Obama run Hewlett Packard. Watch the video above as she debunks the entire idea as a FALLACY.

    Here is the full quote:

I don’t think John McCain could run a major corporation. I don’t think Barack Obama could run a major corporation. I don’t think Joe Biden could. But it is not the same as being the president or vice president of the United States. It is a fallacy to suggest that the country is like a company, so of course, to run a business, you have to have a lifetime of experience in business, but that’s not what Sarah Palin, John McCain, Barack Obama or Joe Biden are doing.

Well, Fiorina is correct and NONE of them are applying for a major CEO position, now are they?

So, how do you judge a Presidential or Vice Presidential candidate?

Flap guesses you VOTE (based on an informed rationale (of character, executive experience and issue positions) notwithstanding that Team Obama will try to exploit Fiorina’s naked truth as some sort of GAFFE or disqualifier of Palin and McCain.

Hannah-Beth Jackson Watch: Here Come “Hide the Ball” Campaign Contributions

The record of an Assemblywoman that is not a friend to the California taxpayer.

Flap said the Democrat Party campaign transfer contributions would come and here they are. Timm Herdt has a piece up today noting the Democrat “launder job” from the Santa Barbara Denmocrat Central Committee.

Campaign finance reports show she received $55,000 Friday from the Santa Barbara County Democratic Central Committee. That comes on the heels of a $156,000 contribution from the state Democratic Party the previous Friday.

Trying to determine where the Santa Barbara County Committee raised its money, I checked the secretary of state’s campaign finance site and found no electronic reports had been filed for the last several years. The explanation, Chairman Daraka Larimore-Hall, told me today is that all of the money was received after June 30. Unlike candidates, who have to report contributions of $1,000 or more within 24 hours, political committees do not have to file another report until Oct. 6.

Larimore-Hall said the money came from “several sources,” including Democratic state senators who are supporting Jackson’s campaign.

So, what is wrong with this picture?

    hannah-beth-Jackson12w

    Hannah-Beth Jackson

Voters in the California State Senate District 19 have no idea where her campaign contributions are coming from in direct contrast to the intent of California political campaign contribution disclosure laws. The Republicans do this too but the California Democrat Party has made this “hide the ball” tactic an art form.

The informed and motivated voter would have to comb through hundreds of campaign reports filed either with the California Secretary of State or local county governments in order to find the actual source of the campaign cash. Can this be accomplished timely – like in time for the election?

    Doubtful

When Hannah-Beth Jackson criticised her opponent former California Assemblyman Tony Strickland this summer for some Tobacco company contributions, Flap pointed out that Hannah-Beth Jackson was blowing smoke. Of course, her hypocrisy abounds since previous contributors to her campaign had accepted the same tobacco company contributions.

And, Flap showed that Hanna-Beth Jackson has indeed received INDIRECT tobacco company/industry contributions during this campaign cycle.

So, when she says that she ” I have not and will not solicit or accept contributions from tobacco companies” she doesn’t have to do so. The California Democrat Party, various National Democrat Party campaign committees and California Democrat Legislative leaders already have donated or loaned money to her campaign. This allows Jackson to demagogue the tobacco issue against Tony Strickland and to score cheap political points.

Let’s go over a brief history of how California Legislative campaigns are funded. Flap draws upon his experience as being a former member of the California Dental Association’s Council on Legislation and the local Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Society’s Cal-D-Pac representative (CAl-D-Pac) for the legislative process history.

The California Democrat Party for decades has used an ingenious system of party committee transfers to insulate their members from campaign reporting scrutiny and to deliver needed funds to those members/candidates who either ingratiate themselves (promise to vote for the leader for various leadership positions) and/or who are in tight races with the Republicans. The transfer mechanism constitute a type of “SLUSH FUND.”

For example, long-time Democrat Assembly Speaker Willie Brown, now the former Mayor of San Francisco as well, would collect money from all the special interests with business before the California Legislature, bundle all of the contributions and then dole them out to whoever was his friend. This has been repeated over and over again for the past decade with various legislative leaders even as term limits and campaign contribution reporting and limitation laws changed.

The reader asks who is funding Hannah-Beth Jackson’s campaign, then? Well, you can go here and look at the contribution report and break it down by industry. Another report will be due October 6th where all of the post June 30th contributions will show up. And, you can go to electiontrack.com and subscribe to Scott Lay’s service and obtain daily e-mail alerts on her contributions (the 24 hour reporting rule is in effect for major contributions, greater than $1,000).

Yet, the top industry contributor to Hannah-Beth Jackson’s campaign will remain Democrat Candidate Committees and various Democrat Party Committees.

So much for transparency in Hannah-Beth Jackson’s campaign.

Sarah Palin Watch: Why Readers Should Continue to Dump Us Magazine Tanning Bed Edition

    sarah-palin-tanning-bed

Us Magazine is up to it again – Palin Derangement Syndrome. Who cares whether Sarah Palin has a tanning bed, paid for by her own money, in her residence?

Now, Flap has had his bout with skin cancer and highly recommends Governor Plain discontinue the use of the tanning bed, but it is certainly not an earth shattering revelation unless you want to nit pick. The track record of Us magazine is clear and it has created subscription problems for them.

Apparently the Us Magazine editors simply don’t care.

Remember why readers were dumping Us Magazine?

The Atlantic Tees Off on John McCain – The Apology

    jillgreenberg3

    Photo from American Digest

The Atlantic has issued this response to the Jill Greenberg manipulated photos FLAP.

We stand by the respectful image of John McCain that we used on our cover, and we expect to be judged by it. We were not aware of the manipulated and dishonest images Jill Greenberg had taken until this past Friday.

When we contract with photographers for portraits, we don’t vet them for their politics—instead, we assess their professional track records. We had never worked with Jill Greenberg before (and, obviously, we will not work with her again). Based on the portraits she had done of politicians like Arnold Schwarzenegger and her work for publications like Time, Wired, and Portfolio, we expected her, like the other photographers we work with, to behave professionally.

Jill Greenberg has obviously not done that. She has, in fact, disgraced herself, and we are appalled by the manipulated images she has created for her Web site of John McCain.

And, yesterday, The Atlantic’s editor went on Fox News and stated that Jill Greenberg had NOT been paid for the photos, would NOT be paid due to contractual issues and The Atlantic was contemplating legal action against her.

Weak Sauce…….especially when you see this CRAP:

Don’t the editors know who the frak they are hiring at this magazine? Remember Google is your friend.

Flap can hardly wait until Jill Greenberg sues The Atlantic for payment and violating her freedom of speech rights.

More Celebrity Problems for Barack Obama?

    barbara-streisand-hosting-o

The Far Left must be worried about McCain’s lead in the polls and have brought out the big entertainment “CELEBRITY” liberals to squeeze money out of their donors.

    Matt Drudge has the poop:

The nation’s financials may be in a spiral, but cash is flowing into the Obama campaign faster than Marvin Hamlisch can play “Niagara”!

Yesterday, Obama declared how we are in “the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression.”

Today he will host a dinner in Beverly Hills — costing attendees $28,500 dollars each!

Hundreds of high rollers, including some of the biggest executives in film, television and music, will munch gourmet chow and hang out with the candidate.

Streisand will then sing at the five-star Beverly Wilshire, no doubt reviving the Depression-era standard “Happy Days Are Here Again” with new urgency.

Obama is set to break a single-day fundraising record of $9 million.

Tuesday’s events in Tinseltown come after Obama racked up a record-breaking $66 million dollars in fundraising last month, beating his previous high mark of $55 million last winter.

“The fundamentals of our economy are strong, but these are still very, very difficult times,” rival McCain said, sunny-side up.

“Sen. McCain, what economy are you talking about?” smiled Obama.

    Developing…

More here on the fundraising effort this evening.

How does Barack Obama lure wealthy donors to a big-money fundraiser in Hollywood? Bring in Barbra Streisand as the headline performer.

The Oscar-winning singer and actress was to perform Tuesday night on Obama’s behalf in Beverly Hills. It was to be a two-step evening with a reception and dinner costing $28,500 a person followed by a later event featuring Streisand at $2,500 a ticket.

Obama was flying to Los Angeles after an appearance Tuesday morning in a Denver suburb.

The wealthy fundraiser comes on a day when the crisis in the U.S. economy remained an urgent issue for many Americans. Monday’s sharp sell-off left the Dow Jones industrials and the Standard & Poor’s 500 index down by more 4 percent, eroding the value of individual retirement and investment accounts, for example.

Barack Obama who has forgone public financing of his campaign has burned through tens of millions dollars on a failed 50 state Howard Dean type strategy.

So, he needs to reload. The entertainment moguls and their friends are lock step enough to fund his failing campaign.

Flap bets Hillary wished she had been the recipient of some of this largess to pay off her debts.

However, Barack is “The One” and it is ALL ABOUT HIM.
