Update:
More Clinton Cabal fun
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has canceled an appearance at a New York rally next week after organizers blindsided her by inviting Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, aides to the senator said Tuesday.
Several American Jewish groups plan a major rally outside the United Nations on Sept. 22 to protest against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Organizers said Tuesday that both Clinton, who nearly won the Democratic nomination for president, and Palin, Republican candidate John McCain’s running mate, are expected to attend.
That would have set up a closely scrutinized and potentially explosive pairing in the midst of a presidential campaign, one in which the New York senator is campaigning for Democratic nominee Barack Obama while Palin actively courts disappointed Clinton supporters.

A prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee has defected and will endorse John McCain for President today.
Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter and member of the Democratic National Committee’s Platform Committee, will endorse John McCain for president on Wednesday, her spokesman tells CNN.
The announcement will take place at a news conference on Capitol Hill, just blocks away from the DNC headquarters. Forester will “campaign and help him through the election,” the spokesman said of her plans to help the Republican presidential nominee.
Forester was a major donor for Clinton earning her the title as a Hillraiser for helping to raise at least $100,000 for the New York Democratic senator’s failed presidential bid.
The Clinton Cabal at work.
Watch for Hillary supporters to roll out slowly over the next month undercutting Obama with women voters.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today said he would veto the long overdue budget lawmakers sent him just hours before because it does not include long-term spending changes he wants.
The move extends the state's record-setting budget impasse and sets up what could be an unprecedented override attempt.
"People aren't getting paid, hospitals are in danger of closing, but I will not sign a get out of town budget…that punishes taxpayers," Schwarzenegger said.
If lawmakers vote to override the veto, Schwarzenegger said, he will veto all the bills awaiting action on his desk.

No leadership there with Schwarzenegger. What a mistake the California GOP made when they selected him to run in a recall election.

John McCain used an appearance before a blue-collar crowd near Youngstown, Ohio, to take a class-tinged shot at Barack Obama tonight.
"He talks about siding with the people just before he flew off for a fundraiser in Hollywood with Barbra Streisand," McCain said of his rival. "Let me tell you, my friends, there's no place I'd rather be than right here with the working men and women of Ohio."
McCain used the line as his close at an airport hangar rally, drawing loud applause.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, when asked Tuesday whether Democrats bear some of the responsibility regarding the current crisis on Wall Street, had a one-word answer: “No.”

A new 527 has emerged. Called BornAliveTruth.org, the political organization says its mission "is to educate the public on the IL Born Alive Infants Protection Act and Senator Obama's record opposing this act."
In this TV ad, which is said to be airing in battleground states New Mexico and Ohio, a woman named Gianna Jessen says she survived an failed abortion, and criticizes Obama for voting against legislation that would have declared that if a baby survives an abortion its life must be saved.

But the Democrats will use the contrived flap to energize African american voters to vote for Obama. Who says Obama is a post-racial candidate?

Yes, here come the Democrt campaign transfers made famous by Willie Brown. Raise money from all of the special interests and launder it around the state. So much for transparency.

The math does not compute for Obama's tax pledge. Well, Duh!

here should be more made of the cherry-picking of McCain's words yesterday. From [McClatchy] via your own Campaign Spot:
"People are frightened by these events,'' he told a friendly crowd of 3,000 supporters on the opening day of a two-day Florida tour. "The fundamentals of our economy are still strong but these are very, very difficult times. I promise you we will never put America in this position again.''
No wonder every phrase must be crafted to be able to stand alone. Out of context, optimism sounds like ignorance.

Even as he faces a 16-count federal indictment on charges that include racketeering and soliciting bribes, Rep. William Jefferson (D-La.) may be down, but he isn’t out. At least not yet.
Devoid of virtually any influence in Congress and with his campaign treasury almost empty, Jefferson may still have a path to victory in the Democratic primary next month. By virtue of his high name identification and a small cadre of die-hard supporters, he is hoping to win enough votes in the crowded Oct. 4 primary to head into a runoff. And his likely runoff opponent is the only white candidate in the seven-person field, creating a racially divided contest that Jefferson has a real chance of winning.

Unbelievable that this pol is continuing in office. Charlie Rangel will be the next to go in a corruption scandal
