Sarah Palin Watch: 60,000 Crowd Greets Palin in Florida

Palin-mania has reached Florida.

The event was in GOP territory at The Villages but……..

Tens of thousands inched along roads into the picturesque town square of the complex, where they stood in sweltering heat for about four hours as local GOP officials and a country band revved up the crowd.

“Sa-Rah! Sa-Rah!” they chanted at every mention of her name, applauding loudly and waiving tiny American flags that were distributed — along with free water bottles — by local volunteers. The fire chief estimated the crowd at 60,000.

Admiring throngs mobbed the Palin family’s arrival and departure, snapping souvenir pictures. Autograph seekers thrust campaign signs, caps with the McCain-Palin logo and copies of magazines with her face on their covers, and the Palins responded warmly.

The national polls have swung to Obama the past few days. But, it is the appeal of Sarah Palin with working class women in Midwest battleground states that WILL deliver a victory to John McCain and the GOP.

Update:

Another fire chief says 25,000 folks but certainly the largest turnout for any VP candidate in Florida – yes, that means Biden.

Video of the Sarah Palin speech is here.

She brings great crowds, but her popularity according to the media polls has been falling in the past couple of weeks.

    That’s called a contradiction.

Do you beleive the media, the liberal media?

    Sucker.

WHO GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE MEDIA… THE PEOPLE RUN THIS COUNTRY

Sarah Palin to meet with 7 world leaders at UN By CHARLES BABINGTON, Associated Press Writer
Mon Sep 22, 2:48 PM ET

WASHINGTON – Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin may have little experience in foreign policy, but she’s about to get a two-day crash course.

The first-term Alaska governor plans to meet seven world leaders and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in New York City this week, where the U.N. General Assembly is convening. The meetings might help her answer critics who say she is not ready to handle world affairs. Palin obtained her first passport last year.

On Tuesday she will meet separately with Kissinger, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and Afghan President Hamid Karzai. On Wednesday she is to meet jointly with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko. She then will meet separately with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Palin also will sit down with rock star and humanitarian activist Bono.

Her popularity will subside a bit, but not much. The fact that she draws a minimum of 25,000 (and the fact that people have to wait 90 minutes to park their cars tells the whole story), suggests that her popularity isn’t waning all that much. That’s almost double what Obama has drawn I believe.

No matter how many people she draws it can’t erase the fact that this is the most supremely unqualified VP candidate in American history. When she is away from her cue cards she is nearly incomprehensible. Her knowledge of national and international affairs is on an eighth grade level. She is an embarrassment not only to the Republican party but to America. What was John McCain thinking??

BTW – Jon Bon Jovi can fill stadiums, too. Does that qualify him for vice president?

    Most unqualified?

    I hardly think so.

As much experience as Joe Biden in the US Senate no. More executive experience than Joe Biden and Barack Obama – yes.

How much foreign policy experience did Bill Clinton have as a Governor from a small state, Arkansas? None. How about Jimmy Carter? None; Reagan – None.

    Barack Obama – 2 years.
