There were people booing the Canadian National Anthem when I was at a playoff game vs the Canadiens. I thought it was disgusting. As far as Sarah Palin, the commentators in Philly made it known that she was there because of the face she has given to the sport, not for her politics. They were honoring the best hockey mom in Philly that night, as chosen by a panel of celebrity judges. As the most famous hockey mom in the country, she was asked to appear with Philly's best hockey mom. I didn't see it so much about politics as about the sport. Whether or not you agree with her politics, she has given more exposure to a sport that desperately needs more fans.
