    From the Press Release:

    GOVERNOR ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER ENDORSES

    TONY STRICKLAND FOR STATE SENATE

    California’s Greenest Governor Picks Strickland,

says, “We need independent thinkers in Sacramento.”

(Simi Valley)  Today, as Tony Strickland joins Vons officials for the launch of the first solar powered grocery store in Southern California, the Strickland for Senate Campaign announces the official endorsement of California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the bid for the 19th District State Senate seat.  Strickland’s emphasis on jumpstarting our economy with renewable energy fits with the Governor’s philosophy that it is possible to be both a good steward of the environment while also supporting California businesses.

“Tony’s strength as a leader is admirable,” said Schwarzenegger.  “His fight for renewable energy is the foundation of his economic plan and I need him standing with me as we transition California into a renewable, energy efficient economy.  We need independent thinkers like Tony Strickland in Sacramento.”

With environmental and business interests often viewed as conflicting, both Strickland and Schwarzenegger believe that the two are not mutually exclusive.  Allowing California businesses to lead the way on renewable energy will strengthen our economy, help end our dependence on foreign oil and create high-paying green jobs in the state.

“Arnold Schwarzenegger is the greenest Governor California has ever had,” said Strickland.  “I’m honored to share in his vision of transforming California into a renewable, energy-efficient economy.  I am extremely grateful to have his support.”

Flap doesn’t know if this OBLIGATORY endorsement will help Strickland much with California conservatives but the Governor’s inaction might have cost him some votes and provided campaign fodder for Hannah-Beth Jackson and the Democrats.

California’s 19th State Senate District has a GOP edge in registration (albiet, slight as it is) and in order to win Strickland needs to turn out his GOP base, plus a few independent voters. Arnold will help with this.

Joe Biden Watch: Gird Your Loins

Joe Biden On The Prospect Of Testing An Obama Administration

Good Ol’ Slow Joe Biden putting his foot in his mouth again:

ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe Reports: Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., on Sunday guaranteed that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama., D-Ill., will be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in power and he will need supporters to stand by him as he makes tough, and possibly unpopular, decisions.

“Mark my words,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

“I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need you – not financially to help him – we’re gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

Not only will the next administration have to deal with foreign affairs issues, Biden warned, but also with the current economic crisis.

“Gird your loins,” Biden told the crowd. “We’re gonna win with your help, God willing, we’re gonna win, but this is not gonna be an easy ride. This president, the next president, is gonna be left with the most significant task. It’s like cleaning the Augean stables, man….”

Pretty creepy that your own Vice President thinks that Barack Obama is “INEXPERIENCED” and not up to the task – just yet. Let’s open the door, Slow Joe, to every terrorist or terrorist nation in the world to now test a President Obama.

NOT too smart……But typical Joe Biden…….

Where is California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in California Proposition 8 – Gay Marriage Fight?

In an appearance at the 2008 Log Cabin Republicans National Convention in San Diego, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-CA) pledges to fight a proposed anti-gay marriage amendment.

Andrew Sullivan is bitchin’ and moanin’ that Arnold is NOT doing enough to defeat California’s Proposition 8 Protect Traditional Marriage Consitutional amendment.

He opposes it but hasn’t gone beyond his statement to Patrick Sammon: ….But he isn’t fighting against it. And he needs to.

Actually, Arnold is UNPOPULAR in California because of his failure to control the Democrat Legislature in spending California blind and California Republicans have no use for his post-partisan BS leadership style.

Schwarznenegger has spent $ millions in supporting Proposition 11, the Voters FIRST Act, a California redistricting initiative. The Governor needs GOP votes to pass this measure and doing anything for gay marriage will ABSOLUTELY sink Proposition 11.

Arnold may still cut some ads for Proposition 8, the Protect Traditional Marriage Consitutional Amendment but don’t count on alot. And, with Proposition 8 up in the polls who knows if Schwarzenegger will even do that?

Shocker: John Stewart Drops the F-BOMB on Sarah Palin

Jon Stewart, performing at homecoming festivities for Northeastern University in Boston, Mass

Flap fully expects this video to disappear under some copyright infringement BS so enjoy it while you can.

Here is a transcript that the LEFT thought police cannot take down:

“He (McCain) made an interesting vice presidential choice.

I like the woods…I just don’t know if I would pull my vice president out of the woods randomly.

She came out again today. She was talking to a small town, she said that small towns, that’s the part of the country she really likes going to because that’s the pro-America part of the country.

You know, I just want to say to her, just very quickly…[expletive] you.

I’ve never seen someone with a greater disparity between how cute they sound when they’re saying something and how terrible what they’re saying is.

Don’t ya know, Obama, by golly, he just is a terrorist? What? Oh, you know, he just, gosh, kills babies, you know.

I’m so over the idea that only small-town America is the heart and soul. Small-town America is fine, but it’s the same as cities. Cities are just a lot of towns piled on top of each other in one place.

They have this whole thing that somehow we can write off entire swaths of the country, that we are somehow…I get it. You know, New York City wasn’t good enough for [expletive] Osama bin Laden, it better be good enough for you.

I can’t take it anymore. After eight years of this divisiveness, we’re back to this idea that only small-town America is the real America.

I get it. I’m from New York. We have a lot of gay people. But homosexuals don’t have sodomy on Russian flags.”

    Real class from John Stewart.

Flap does not watch him, Colbert or Comedy Central much in any case. But, this cannot do much for marketing his show in red states, now will it?

But, Flap is positive the Hollywood Left will give him points and another Academy Awards hosting gig.

Yes On California Proposition 8 – Protect Traditional Marriage Leading in Latest Polls

Latest Yes on Proposition 8 television ad: It’s Already Happened

The latest California Survey USA poll has the YES on California Proposition 8, Protect Traditional Marriage Constitutional amendment winning.

In a vote today, 10/17/08, on California’s Proposition 8 Ballot Initiative, which would change California’s constitution to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry, approximately half the state supports the measure, half the state opposes the measure, according to this latest SurveyUSA poll conducted for KABC-TV Los Angeles, KPIX-TV San Francisco, KGTV-TV San Diego, and KFSN-TV Fresno. The exact findings are: ‘Yes’ (to change the law) 48%, ‘No’ (to leave the law alone) 45%. But: polling on ballot measures in general is an inexact science, and polling on homosexuality in general is a tricky business, so SurveyUSA urges all who examine these results to not put too fine a point on the 3 points that separate “Yes” and “No” today. In 3 SurveyUSA tracking polls over the past month, Proposition 8 has been fiercely fought, and effectively even, all 3 times. “No” nominally led by 5 points on 09/25/08. “Yes” nominally led by 5 points on 10/06/08. The movement from 10/06/08 to today is not necessarily statistically significant.

    Here is the survey chart:

    CA-Prop-8-poll
    CA-Prop-8-poll-2

The exit question: Is there a Bradley effect on homosexual and gay marriage polling?

In other words, when asked survey questions are California voters reluctant to reveal their true opinions on the idea of traditional marriage whereas will vote their “TRUE” conscience once in the voting booth?

If this is the case, then California Proposition 8 may be winning by an even larger margin.

    Stay tuned……

Fred Quarnstrom – How NOT to Resign from a State Dental Board

Flap missed this report when it first came out during the summer but is happy to report it now. The FLAP involves Seattle dentist, Fred Quarnstrom, who has resigned (or was NOT reappointed) to the Washington Dental Quality Assurance Commission (DQAC).

    fred-quarnstrom-october-200

This has become a classic case study in how to not serve the public in a state professional regulatory board. Here is Dr. Quarnstrom’s resignation letter:

    Fred-Quarnstrom-Letter

When it was apparent that Quarnstrom was NOT going to reappointed to another term on the DQAC, he unfairly and unprofessionally attacks the same board and colleagues over previously decided disciplinary cases. This is without regard to the dentists who were previously adjudicated in which Quarnstrom apparently did not agree with the DQAC board’s findings. A piece about Quarnstrom’s moans found a sympathetic airing here.

At least three patients have died after dental procedures in the last three years in Washington, and critics say some of the cases weren’t examined closely enough by the state’s dental disciplinary board.

The Washington Dental Quality Assurance Commission found no wrongdoing in all three cases.

“When it comes to death cases, the board sure doesn’t do well,” said Fred Quarnstrom, a Seattle dentist who recently resigned from the dental board. “I think they should go to a hearing. Why is it a secret?”

The handling of the three known cases raises questions about the consistency and thoroughness of the state’s review process, Quarnstrom said.

So, when you are NOT going to reappointed to a public regulatory board (even though you are an Eage Scout and put up yard signs during the Governor’s campaign) you go public and bash the very same board upon which you labored the previous four years. Real mature and professional Fred.

The exit questions are: Why didn’t Quarnstrom go to the press and make a major Flap when he was a member of the DQAC? Or, did Fred Quarnstrom do so and was so out of the mainstream of dental education and training with pre-conceived bias that he was either ignored or marginalized?

In any case, the public is better served without Quarnstrom on the Washington Dental Quality Assurance Commission.

    Day By Day 102008

Day By Day by Chris Muir

With an Obama Presidency we will NOT see Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn invited to the White House’s Lincoln Bedroom but we can expect them to adorn the White House at educational and law conferences. It will be kept on the down low but THEY will appear.

Now, what will the Obama’s do with Jeremiah Wright?

He’ll make an appearance too despite John McCain’s insistance that criticism of his anti-American, racist, Black  Liberation theology has no place in the Presidential campaign.

    • But when asked if she would approve the use of robocalls if she were running the campaign, Palin said she’d probably chart a different course.

"If I called all the shots, and if I could wave a magic wand,” Palin said, “I would be sitting at a kitchen table with more and more Americans, talking to them about our plan to get the economy back on track and winning the war and not having to rely on the old conventional ways of campaigning that includes those robocalls and includes spending so much money on the television ads that, I think, is kind of draining out there in terms of Americans' attention span.

“They get a bit irritated with just being inundated,” she continued, “and you're seeing a lot of that of course with the huge amounts of money that Barack Obama is able to spend on his ads and his robocalls also.”

The 66-year-old Kim disappeared from public view in mid-August and failed appear on two important national holidays, leading to speculation that he was seriously ill.

United States and South Korean officials said he had suffered a stroke and had undergone brain surgery, but North Korea has denied that he is unwell.

Quoting unidentified sources at Japan's defence ministry, the Sankei said Tokyo had information that "there will be an important announcement on (October) 20th".

    • t's no secret that the entertainment industry is overwhelmingly liberal — political donations this presidential cycle from the movie, TV and music industries recently were running about 86% Democrat versus 14% Republican. But being outnumbered is one thing, being bullied by your liberal co-workers into keeping your opinions to yourself is quite another.

Is that what's going on? Yes, say many of the industry's conservatives. That's why secret organizations with such names as "SpeakEasy" and "The Sunday Night Club" spring up every so often. They're not conservative per se, they just let it be known that attendees of their gatherings may freely discuss politics without being chastised for not toeing the liberal line.

    • There are only 15 days left until Election Day, which means that pundits and pols will be busy predicting who will win come November 4.

We caught up with Speaker Nancy Pelosi at Georgetown's Café Milano Friday night and she didn't pull any punches.

"100% Barack Obama is going to win!" she told Yeas & Nays. "He's going to be our next president and a great president at that. We're all excited to work with him."

But that's not what Rudy Giuliani thinks. We found him palling around with Yogi Berra at the Washington Hilton Saturday night and he's still got his money on John McCain.

"He's going to do great," Hizzoner told us. "He's looking strong for November 4."

But conservative pollster Frank Luntz — begrudgingly — thinks Pelosi's correct. On Friday's "Real Time with Bill Maher" on HBO, Luntz said, "I believe Barack Obama is going to be the next president of the United States. … John McCain cannot communicate. Stevie Wonder reads a teleprompter better than John McCain."

    • Democrat Barack Obama's lead over Republican John McCain in the presidential race has dropped to 3 points, according to a Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby poll released on Sunday.

Obama leads McCain by 48 to 45 percent among likely U.S. voters, down 1 percentage point from Saturday. The four-day tracking poll, which has a margin of error of 2.9 points.

Pollster John Zogby said the numbers were good news for McCain, and probably reflected a bump following his appearance in the third and final presidential debate on Wednesday.

"For the first time in the polling McCain is up above 45 percent. There is no question something has happened," Zogby said.

He said the Arizona senator appeared to have solidified his support with the Republican base — where 9 out of 10 voters now back him — and was also gaining ground among the independents who may play a decisive role in the November 4 election.

    • Rush Limbaugh said Colin Powell's decision to get behind Barack Obama appeared to be very much tied to Obama's status as the first African-American with a chance to become president.

As for Powell's statement of concern this morning about the sort of Supreme Court justices a President McCain might appoint, Limbaugh wrote: "I was also unaware of his dislike for John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Antonin Scalia. I guess he also regrets Reagan and Bush making him a four-star [general] and secretary of state and appointing his son to head the FCC. Yes, let's hear it for transformational figures."

      Uh Huh…….

"Secretary Powell says his endorsement is not about race," Limbaugh wrote in an e-mail. "OK, fine. I am now researching his past endorsements to see if I can find all the inexperienced, very liberal, white candidates he has endorsed. I'll let you know what I come up with."

    • Former Secretary of State Colin Powell endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., for president on Sunday, criticizing his own Republican Party for what he called its narrow focus on irrelevant personal attacks over a serious approach to challenges he called unprecedented.

Powell, who for many years was considered the most likely candidate to become the first African-American president, said in an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that he was not supporting Obama because of his race. He said he had watched both Obama and his Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain of Arizona, for many months and thought “either one of them would be a good president.”

    • Retired Gen. Colin L. Powell, one of the country's most respected Republicans, stunned both parties Sunday by strongly endorsing Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) for president on NBC's "Meet the Press" and laying out a blistering, detailed critique of the modern GOP.

Powell said the election of Obama would "electrify the world."

"I think he is a transformational figure," Powell said. "He is a new generation coming … onto the world stage and on the American stage. And for that reason, I'll be voting for Sen. Barack Obama."

As a key reason, Powell said: "I would have difficulty with two more conservative appointments to the Supreme Court, but that's what we'd be looking at in a McCain administration."
