Sarah Palin Watch: The Dishonesty of CNN

Sarah Palin interviewed on CNN’s The Situation Room, October 21, 2008

Wow! Talk about DISHONEST journalism. CNN takes the prize today after they deliberately distort a quote from Byron York of National Review.

The full quote from Byron York:

Watching press coverage of the Republican candidate for vice president, it’s sometimes hard to decide whether Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt, backward, or — or, well, all of the above. Palin, the governor of Alaska, has faced more criticism than any vice-presidential candidate since 1988, when Democrats and the press tore into Dan Quayle. In fact, Palin may have it even worse than Quayle, since she’s taking flak not only from Democrats and the press but from some conservative opinion leaders as well….

Yes, there are legitimate concerns about Palin’s lack of experience. Who wouldn’t, at the very least, wish that she had more time in the governor’s office on her résumé? But a look at Palin’s 20 months in power, along with interviews with people who worked with her, shows her to be a serious executive, a governor who picked important things to do and got them done — and who didn’t just stumble into an 80 percent job-approval rating.

    Uhhhhh the context CNN?

Here is what CNN reporter Drew Griffin said:

“The press has been pretty hard on you, the Democrats have been pretty hard on you, but also some conservatives have been pretty hard on you as well. The National Review had a story saying that, you know, I can’t tell if Sarah Palin is incompetent, stupid, unqualified, corrupt or all of the above.”

Flap agrees with Hugh Hewitt in that Drew Griffin and his producer(s) at CNN should be fired but that won’t happen and Flap doubts they will EVEN apologize.

Who says there is NO media bias?

  • Meg Whitman,  Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney for California Governor in 2010?

    Romney McCain and Whitman

Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., center, flanked by adviser Meg Whitman, left, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, speaks at an economic roundtable, Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, in New York.

Flap put 2 and 2 together in May and speculated that Mitt Romney purchasing a home in La Jolla was more of a political move than a real estate deal.

While John McCain BBQ’s today at the family ranch in Sedona, Arizona and hosts among others Mitt Romney, it is “LEAKED” that Mitt Romney has purchased a home in La Jolla, California.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has reached a deal to buy a home in Southern California.

The unsuccessful Republican presidential contender is closing at the end of the month on a property in La Jolla, just north of San Diego, Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom confirmed Saturday.

While California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is term-limited and must leave office after 2010, the spokesman denied any political positioning. Romney finance chairwoman Meg Whitman, the former chief executive of eBay, is also reported to be considering her own campaign for California governor.

“Gov. Romney has been looking at property on the West Coast because he has family in California, and because his wife, Ann, spends a good deal of time there riding horses,” Fehrnstrom said.

One of Romney’s five sons, Matt, lives outside San Diego, while son Josh lives in Salt Lake City.

Well, since that time Mitt Romney was NOT selected by John McCain as his Vice Presidential running mate and according to fellow Ventura County blogger and Sacramento Bureau Chief of the Ventura County Star, Timm Herdt, has turned his political sights to Sacramento.

Although a Romney spokesman said at the time the purchase was based mainly on the family’s desire to spend more time closer to their horses that are boarded in Ventura County, Cole speculated that the former governor of Massachusetts might be thinking of becoming the future governor of California.

The speculation is becoming more intense. Over the last week I’ve heard it raised in Sacramento and from someone in Ventura County. The latter source claims to trace the rumor to eavesdropping by someone who works for the Romney family in a nonpolitical capacity.

The California Republican Party continues in decline under the “FAILED” leadership of SOMETIMES Republican governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold’s post-partisan leadership style and his criticism of California Conservatives has led to a party in disarray. Moreover, Schwarzenegger’s governance of California and particularly its economy has lead to wildly unbalanced budgets and economic malaise in the Golden State.

So, in comes Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts Governor with astounding achievements in the business world and with running the Winter Olympics (saving it from ruin).

What better way to rehabilitate your failed Presidential bid by running and holding another executive political position in the nation’s most populous state? Does Mitt Romney remember that President Ronald Reagan was the former Governor of California?

    What are Mitt Romney’s prospects?

Flap thinks very good – at least for the GOP nomination.

Romney has the money to self-fund his own primary campaign, is far more conservative than his opposition, California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner and has statewide name recognition. Plus, Romney and his Mormon (LDS) supporters have been very active in the California Proposition 8 (Protect Traditional Marriage Constitutional amendment) working with conservative Catholics and Evangelical Christians who comprise a goodly number of GOP primary voters and volunteers.

Now, Mitt Romney could decide to avoid a confrontation with Poizner and run in a “WALK” against California Senator Barbara Boxer in 2010, but, Flap doubts it. Flap bets that Meg Whitman, Mitt Romney’s chief Presidential fundraiser and billionaire former head of e-Bay will run against Boxer. Romney and Whitman will tag team the Democrats in 2010.

    How positive is Flap?

    Bet the farm…….

And, why would Team McCain allow this MORON on their airplanes?

    Gosh is the MSM dense.

But, watch this video (if it stays up) and you can get an idea of Klein’s BIAS as stated in his own words.

An interview with Time Magazine’s Joe Klein. Pay particular attention to the end where Klein ridicules Sarah Palin

Key Response from the McCain campaign:

Campaign spokesperson Michael Goldfarb responded that “we don’t allow Daily Kos diarists on board either.”

Hey,Joe stop your whining and when you want to “HIT” Mac or Palin book your own flight.

    JERK……

    Update:

Joe Klein whimpers and tries to justify his ban.

Joe Biden Watch: America’s Enemies Will TEST Obama

    testing-Obama

Democrat Senator and Vice Presidential nominee Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Colin Powell who endorsed Barack Obama Sunday agree that should Obama be elected President he will be immediately tested.

Joe Biden warned that America’s enemies would test Barack Obama with an international crisis within six months if he’s elected president – a shocking comment John McCain eagerly pounced on yesterday to claim Obama isn’t ready to be commander-in-chief.

“Mark my words,” Biden told donors at a Seattle fund-raiser Sunday night.

“It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America.

“Watch. We’re going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.

“And he’s going to need help . . . to stand with him. Because it’s not going to be apparent initially; it’s not going to be apparent that we’re right.”

The audio and video of Powell and Biden is here and below:

    The John McCain response:

“The next president won’t have time to get used to the office. We face many challenges here at home and many enemies abroad in this dangerous world,” McCain said. “We don’t want a president who invites ‘testing’ from the world at a time when our economy is in crisis and Americans are already fighting two wars.”

McCain said it was even “more troubling” that Biden suggested supporters stick by Obama if the actions he takes are wrong or unpopular.

“Senator Obama won’t have the right response, and we know that because we’ve seen the wrong response from him over and over during this campaign,” he said.

Now, even former Clinton Administration Secretary of State Madeleine Albright agrees: it is a ‘statement of fact’ that terrorists will test Sen. Obama within first six months of his presidency.

    The video:

Is Obama experienced and prepared to be President?

Who do American voters want answering that 3 AM call in the White House?

  • Michael Bloomberg,  Rudy Giuliani

Rudy Giuliani for New York Governor in 2010?

    Rudy Giuliani oct 20 2008

Supriya Jindal, wife of Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, center, flanked by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, left, and Cindy McCain, wife of Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., take part in a campaign stop in Philadelphia, Monday, Oct. 20, 2008

Looks like Rudy will have a clear field against default New York Governor David Paterson particularly if New York City Mayor Bloomberg succeeds in his bid to change the NYC Charter and runs for a third.

Mayor Bloomberg‘s bombshell decision to seek a third term in office may lead to a furious battle with his predecessor and sometime antagonist, Rudy Giuliani, according to an intriguing scenario being discussed in high-level political circles.

The first part of the scenario is widely accepted: that if Bloomberg, who has flirted with running for governor, changes the City Charter and wins a third term, Gov. Paterson is certain to run for election in 2010.

Sources close to Paterson said the governor would likely have bowed out of the race if the popular Bloomberg had decided to run for governor.

The second part involves Giuliani’s not very-well-disguised interest in becoming the Republican candidate for governor in two years – and recent polls suggest the failed presidential contender would have a good chance of defeating Paterson.

This is providing John McCain does NOT ask Rudy to be his Attorney General of the United States. Notwithstanding, Flap looks forward to many Rudy vs. Bloomberg fights in the coming years.

    Stay tuned…..

John Murtha Calls Western Pennsylvania Voters REDNECK

    murthajune25aweb

Democrat Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania

Remember last week when Democrat Congressman John Murtha called Western Pennyslivania voters racist? Then he apologized which was no great surprise.

    But, there is more.

Congressman Murtha is now calling the Pennsylvania voters who put him in office “REDNECKS.”

U.S. Rep. John Murtha is calling many of the people who put him in office “rednecks.”

The news comes one week after Murtha claimed the area is racist, then apologized for that comment.

In explaining his comments about racism, Murtha told WTAE it’s difficult for many in the area to change. Murtha said that just five to 10 years ago the entire area was “redneck.”

    Key graph:

“What I said, that indicted everybody, that’s not what I meant at all. What I mean is there’s still folks that have a problem voting for someone because they are black,” Murtha said.

As Murtha opens his mouth more foot goes into the crevice.

Nothing like insulting your voters right before an election.

    • Denver Roman Catholic Archbishop Charles Chaput labeled Barack Obama the "most committed" abortion-rights candidate from a major party in 35 years while accusing a Catholic Obama ally and other Democratic-friendly Catholic groups of doing a "disservice to the church."

Chaput, one of the nation's most politically outspoken Catholic prelates, delivered the remarks Friday night at a dinner of a Catholic women's group.

His comments were among the sharpest in a debate over abortion and Catholic political responsibility in a campaign in which Catholics represent a key swing vote.

    • Meanwhile, Sarah Palin brings Saturday Night Live its best ratings in 14 years.

She drew 10,000 to an airplane hangar in Roswell, New Mexico. (Insert alien-babe joke here.)

She drew 24,000 to Noblesville, Indiana, and 6,500 to an airplane hangar in Bangor, Maine.

She drew 10,000 to Salem, New Hampshire, the same day that Obama was in the same state in Londonderry and drew a little over 4,000.

No offense to any of the other running mate possibilities, but do you think any other pick by McCain would have drawn 60,000 to The Villages in Florida?

You think it's strictly coincidence that almost 70 million people watched the vice-presidential debate? You think Joe Biden is the reason it outdrew all of the Obama-McCain debates? You think the audiences were just watching to see if she was going to implode?
      +++++++
Sarah Palin is a bright star for Team McCain…..

    • The liberal women I know–and most of the women I seem to know are liberal–loathe Sarah Palin. They don't merely dislike her, the way one tends to dislike politicians whose views are not one's own, they actively detest her. When her name comes up–and it is they who tend to bring it up–their complexions take on a slightly purplish tinge, their eyes cross in rage. "Moron" is their most frequently used noun, though "idiot" comes up a fair number of times; "that woman" is yet another choice. A wide variety of adjectives, differing only slightly in their violence, usually precede these epithets.

Typical LEFT – they loath the RIGHT. Shocker, what?

    • So get this … we found out when Sarah Palin checked into the Omni Berkshire Hotel in NYC for her "Saturday Night Live" performance, she used an alias — first name, Tina (we're not mentioning last name — national security!).
      +++++++
And, online editions of what newspapers?

And there's more. The hotel had some specific instructions on what Her Hotness needed, and it appears to be a preemptive strike against another Couric attack.

Palin asked for and got copies of the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, New York Post, Daily News, and USA Today. No Wash Post — of course they're on Team Obama now.

    • "Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you – not financially to help him – we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."

    • Speaking to a college audience in Boston, Mass. Friday, "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart used his stand-up routine to respond to Sarah Palin's comments about "pro-America" parts of the country, shedding the profanity restrictions that govern his Comedy Central show.

"She said that small towns, that's the part of the country she really likes going to because that's the pro-America part of the country. You know, I just want to say to her, just very quickly: [expletive] you," Stewart said to raucous applause.
      ++++++++
Fairness doctrine will now apply to Comedy Central? It may neuter Stewart, Colbert and Bill Maher on HBO.
      NO?

    • But it’s hard to blame the public for preferring Obama at this stage — given the understandable desire to kick the Republicans out of the White House, and given the failure of the McCain campaign to make its case effectively. And some number of the public may change their minds in the final two weeks of the campaign, and may decide McCain-Palin offers a better kind of change — perhaps enough to give McCain-Palin a victory.

The media elites really hate that idea. Not just because so many of them prefer Obama. But because they like telling us what’s going to happen. They’re always annoyed when the people cross them up. Pundits spent all spring telling Hillary Clinton to give up in her contest against Obama — and the public kept on ignoring them and keeping her hopes alive.

    • SHOULD Barack Obama win the presidency and Democrats take full control of Congress, next year will see a real legislative attempt to bring back the Fairness Doctrine – and to diminish conservatives' influence on broadcast radio, the one medium they dominate.

Yes, the Obama campaign said some months back that the candidate doesn't seek to re-impose this regulation, which, until Ronald Reagan's FCC phased it out in the 1980s, required TV and radio broadcasters to give balanced airtime to opposing viewpoints or face steep fines or even loss of license. But most Democrats – including party elders Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and Al Gore – strongly support the idea of mandating "fairness."
      ++++++++
Broadcast radio will be hit with fairness doctrine rules and the RIGHT will move to Satellite radio and the internet. Sell your tradiotnal radio stock though
