Shocker: Democrat Jack O’Connell California Superintendent of Schools Supports Gay Marriage

Flap knows California superintendent of Schools Jack O’Connell well. Jack taught in the Conejo Valley Unified School District for about two years before he became a left-wing Democrat career politician in the 1980’s. Today, a televison ad supporting gay marriage is released featuring Jack.

California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell voices his strong opposition to Prop 8 and the lies about the public education system.

But, you see Jack O’Connell wants to run for California Governor in 2010 and needs the support of the homosexual lobby to beat San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Jerry Brown in a crowded Democrat primary election.

ProtectMarriage.com – Yes on 8 General Counsel Andrew P. Pugno has sent the following letter to the California State Board of Education and Superintendent Jack O’Connell:

    oconnell-1
    oconnel-2

Ah Jack, Flap knows you really don’t believe in this gay marriage crap but you will do what you have to do to get elected when you are facing being termed out of office.

But, please, stop the lying and deception. You are better than this.

McCain Supporter Ashley Todd Attacked and Mutilated in Pittsburgh

    ashley-todd-attacked-in-Pit

    Good God.

What has the United States become.

A woman robbed at knifepoint at a Pittsburgh ATM told police her attacker knocked her down and carved a “B” in her face after noticing a John McCain sticker on her car.

Police say the victim refused medical attention for the wound. An officer saw the injury, but a police report does not describe its size or severity.

Authorities say the woman is from Texas, but aren’t identifying her.

Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richards says the woman was withdrawing money at 9 p.m. Wednesday when a man approached her from behind, put a knife to her neck and demanded money. She says she gave him $60.

The woman told police the robber then noticed the bumper sticker, punched her in the back of the head, knocked her down and carved a “B” on her face.

    Video here.

The victim has been identified as Ashley Todd, a College Republican field representative.

    Stay tuned……

    Update:

Flap has to say he is skeptical too.

The smoking gun?: She declined medical treatment and the “B” looks very superficial.

  • Hannah-Beth Jackson,  Tony Strickland

Can California Voters Believe What Hannah-Beth Jackson Says?

An editorial from Hannah-Beth Jackson’s hometown newspaper:

Our Opinion: Can you believe what Jackson

    says?

    October 23, 2008 7:48 AM

Hannah-Beth Jackson spent her years in Sacramento as an Assembly member working to make life harder for California businesses and their owners. Creating jobs and economic security wasn’t her priority.

In fact, over the years, Ms. Jackson has tended to say her No. 1 priority is whatever is the prime interest of the particular group she’s before at the moment.

If she’s before environmental organizations, Ms. Jackson claims that protecting the environment is her biggest concern. If she’s before parents and teachers, Ms. Jackson says education is her highest concern. If she’s before crime victims and law enforcement agents, she maintains that public safety is on the top.

    You get the picture.

But what’s never been Ms. Jackson’s top concern is helping local businesses and their workers. And, certainly, improving the economic prosperity of your family hasn’t been in the forefront of her mind when in Sacramento during her time as an Assembly member.

Ms. Jackson’s actions earned her the title of Taxin’ Jackson for her support of one idea to tax you after the next. The moniker stuck and entered common usage in Santa Barbara because of its accuracy.

Now Ms. Jackson wants to be in the state Senate.

As a state senator, you could expect Ms. Jackson to back or write legislation to increase taxes and fees for Californians.

She’s never demonstrated any will to downsize big government, even as the state faced billions of dollars in red ink.

Recall how Ms. Jackson in 2004 described her years as an Assembly member. As noted back then, in the style of George W. Bush, who during his re-election campaign couldn’t think of any mistakes he’d made as president, Ms. Jackson has said of her time in the Assembly: “It’s been an extraordinary run, and I wouldn’t have changed it for anything.”

During the Jackson years, our state went from a time of multibillion-dollar surpluses to multibillion-dollar deficits. Ms. Jackson, as our representative in Sacramento and member of the budget committee, shared culpability for this. Her habit of writing unnecessary bills added to the budget problems.

Ms. Jackson wants you to forget about her past.

Tony Strickland has rightly pointed out that Ms. Jackson has had no economic plan. The economy has been off the radar of this Montecito Democrat.

But now, suddenly, she says: “Strengthening our local economy will be my top priority in the state Senate.”

    Do you believe it?

    ++++++++++

Well, they don’t call Hannah-Beth Jackson, Taxin’ Jackson for nothing………But –

There is an alternative – Republican Tony Strickland.

As you know Flap is supporting Republican Tony Strickland for the California State Senate.

Tony Strickland’s Facebook page is here.

Strickland’s California State Senate website is here.

And, while you are thinking about, go here and send Tony a few bucks to finance his media campaign.

Shocker: Congressman John Murtha NOW Losing to Republican Bill Russell

    murthajune25aweb

Democrat Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania

Michelle Malkin has a new poll that shows Republican Bill Russell beating long time incumbent Democrat Congressman John Murtha by 13 points.

A Pennsylvania source has just leaked me brand spanking new poll data showing GOP upstart Bill Russell leading John Murtha among over 800 probable voters by 48-35.

This comes on top of the Susquehanna poll showing Murtha ahead of Russell by 4 points, within the margin of error.

The new poll is from Dane and Associates, which surveyed over 800 probable voters, randomly selected to reflect the district makeup, on Wednesday night.

If you want to help elect the new GOP Congressman Bill Russell go here.

What Happens When You Support Publicly California Proposition 8 and Traditional Marriage

    yes-on-8-bus-tour

Flap (Via Michelle Malkin) supposes these folks in San Jose got off cheaply enough compared to the death threats that these voters who support traditional marriage and California’s Proposition 8 received but what a civics lesson, eh?

At last, the SUV with the inflammatory slogans denouncing a San Jose family for supporting Proposition 8 is gone from Harwood Road.

“They came last night, washed the paint off and drove away,” said Bob Sundstrom, whose family incurred the wrath of two gay-marriage supporters after the family hung a huge banner on their garage in favor of the ballot measure banning same-sex marriage. “What a relief, I’m happy it’s gone.”

Sunday, two women in a Chevrolet Surbuban drove up in front of the Sundstrom’s home and painted the sport-utility vehicle’s windows with slogans accusing the devout Mormon family of seven of being “bigots” and “haters.” So for the next few days, the Sundstroms were forced to reckon with the eyesore. Police told them the vehicle would be towed away if was not moved in three days.

Tuesday evening, however, one of the women whom Sundstrom recognized from the previous encounter showed up, washed off the slogans and then left in the SUV.

“She wasn’t in the mood for conversation. It’s obvious we weren’t going to change each other’s view,” Sundstrom said. “She brought her own bucket to wash off the paint.”

The SUV is registered to Mara McWilliams and Renee Mangrum, who married in 2004 when San Francisco began performing gay marriages. Neither could be reached for comment.

McWilliams and Mangrum are real class acts and tried to chill the free speech guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution to the Sundstroms.

    Shame on them.

    Here is the photo:

Yes on Prop 8 Bigots live here

After San Jose residents Michele and Bob Sundstrom placed a Yes on 8 banner on their home, they found this sport-utility vehicle parked in front of their home Sunday with anti-Proposition 8 slogans painted on the windows. (Josie Lepe / Mercury News)

    Remember the FLAP?

Flap gets the following via e-mail:

    Flap,

For some reason, I do not understand, you seem to be on a vendetta aimed at me.  I was alerted to your site by someone who suggested it is probably slanderous.

You obviously can publish anything that is public record.  I certainly gave you enough references in my response that you can take out of context and make me look good or bad.

As to my being reappointed or not reappointed.  We will never know for sure.
You are welcome to your speculation. However, if I had stayed knowing about the cover-up of the deaths, I would be part of the problem. Once I knew; I felt obligated to do something. I left so I could expose what was going on.

Because of my two media exposures, one three years ago and one this year, of the problems of anesthesia the DQAC is about to pass, I was told in November, new anesthesia regulations to update the ones I helped formulate
15 years ago after the first death.  I worked for 4 years on these new
    regulations.

You may feel all dentists suffer under an oath of silence.  However, dental ethics has advanced beyond that.

Being a lifelong Democrat, it hurt me to go public, as it did reflect on our Democratic Governor who had been alerted by me to the problems.

Because of my public stance, I have had an oral surgeon tell a patient who needed an implant, “If he is so God Damned smart, why does he not do the implant.  I want you to leave my office.  I will not treat you.”  She had found him on her own.  He was already to do the implant until he told her I will put all this information in a letter to your general dentist.  At this point he picked up her chart and realized I was her general dentist.

I am honored that you find me worthy of this much of your time.

    Representative John Murtha (D-PA), October 15 and 20, 2008

    Is John Murtha in trouble?

Two veteran warriors battling to represent the 12th Congressional District appear locked in the closest race in the district in years.

Democratic Rep. John Murtha leads retired Army Lt. Col. William Russell by a little more than 4 percentage points, within the Susquehanna Poll’s 4.9-point margin of error. The poll of 400 likely voters was conducted for the Tribune-Review on Tuesday, amid uproar over Murtha’s statement that some of his constituents are racist.

    Appears so.

    Time for Murtha to retire.

Sarah Palin – The Sexist Double Standard

    Sarah-Palin-white-jacket

Gov. Sarah Palin waves to the crowd before dropping the ceremonial first puck prior to the Philadelphia Flyers playing the New York Rangers at Wachovia Center on Oct. 11, 2008.

Is all of this banter about Sarah Palin’s appearance, wardrobe and make-up a sexist double standard?

If politicos weren’t so snide and dismissive of fashionistas, the McCain-Palin campaign wouldn’t be in the awkward position of having to explain the $150,000 tab for shopping trips, hairstyling and beauty makeovers for Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

How do you sell someone as a no-frills hockey mom who sold the state plane and fired the official cook and hunted her own moose meat, and then try to explain wardrobing her in clothes from Neiman Marcus — a store occasionally referred to by aggrieved, frugal shoppers as Needless Markup? How do you, in barely two months, lavish her with fashion swag worthy of a starlet and valued at more than her annual governor’s salary of $125,000?

    Why, of course it is.

Is anyone talking about Barack Obama’s proclivity for $1,500 suits? Or Michelle Obama’s designer clothes?

In her critique of the Palin wardrobe, Post fashion critic Robin Givhan lets slip in passing that Barack Obama’s suits go for $1500 and that Michele wears designer duds all the time (except when appearing on The View when she boasted of wearing an under $200 dress).

Yes the figure of $150,000 is eye-popping, but don’t forget it that it included the whole Palin clan. And finally, I cannot escape the suspicion that one reason everyone is so exercised (other than the obvious, i.e. that she’s a Republican) is that she is so gorgeous in those clothes. There is simply no other woman in political life to match her. The green-eyed monster strikes!

    Nope – Crickets.

    So, why pick on Palin?

    palin-red-suit
Gov. Sarah Palin, right, in a camera-ready red suit and high black boots, with Sen. Olympia Snowe, (R-Maine).

    ANSWER:

A sexist double standard, envy and the fact she is a threat to the left and the Obama campaign. Flap does not agree with the left-biased Campbell Brown at CNN very often. But, she has this one RIGHT:

    The video link is here.

    Update:

Palin’s wardrobe is being donated to charity in any case.

Gay Marriage NOT in Peril in California – California Proposition 8 Heading for Defeat?

Latest Yes on California Proposition 8, Protect Traditonal Marriage Television Ad: “Everything to Do With Children”

The latest California PPIC poll has California’s Proposition 8 being defeated on November 4th.

Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment that would end same-sex marriage in California, is losing among likely voters, 52 percent to 44 percent, according to a statewide survey released today by the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) with funding from The James Irvine Foundation.

Here is a chart of their findings:

    prop-8-ppic-poll

The complete polling report is here (PDF file).

Some interesting points about this poll:

    • The gap between likely voters in favor and opposed to Proposition 8 (44% yes, 52% no) has narrowed since September (41% yes, 55% no) and August (40% yes, 54% no). Compared to last month, more Republicans (70% today, 62% September) would vote yes on the measure, which would eliminate the right for same-sex couples to marry that the state Supreme Court granted in May. Opposition is 4 points lower among Democrats (67% today, 71% September), but 5 points higher among independents (58% today, 53% September).
    • At least half of men, women, Latinos, and whites oppose Proposition 8. Regionally, majorities of likely voters in the San Francisco Bay Area (67%) and Los Angeles (55%) are opposed. But majorities in the Central Valley (54%)and in the “Other Southern California” region that includes Orange, San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties (52%) favor the measure.
    • On the more general question of how they feel about allowing gay and lesbian couples to legally marry in
California, likely voters are divided, 47 percent in favor and 49 percent opposed. These attitudes are largely unchanged since 2005.
    • In an indication of how strong voters’ motivations are to cast their ballots on this measure, supporters of
Proposition 8 are far more likely (69%) than opponents (49%) to say the results are very important.
    • The findings in this report are based on a telephone survey of 2,004 California adult residents
interviewed from October 12–19, 2008. Interviewing took place on weekday nights and weekend days,
using a computer-generated random sample of telephone numbers that ensured that both listed and
unlisted numbers were called. All landline telephone exchanges in California were eligible.
    • We present results for four geographic regions, accounting for approximately 90 percent of the state
population...Residents from other geographic areas are included in the results reported for all adults, registeredvoters, and likely voters. Sample sizes for these less populated areas are not large enough to report separately.

Read the complete methodology of the poll on page 29 of the report here.

So, how does this poll differ from the Survey USA Poll Flap reported earlier?

Remember the graphic from the Wall Street Journal:

    gay marriage poll

The most glaring difference between the two polls is when the sample was collected:

    • PPIC: October 12-19 (Sunday through Sunday)
    • Survey USA October 15-16 (Wednesday and Thursday)

Most poll pundits agree that weekend polling is risky at best because so many average or regular voters are not at home and activist types predominate.

Moreover, the YES on Proposition 8 campaign has been bombarding the televison airwaves with very effective ads the past three weeks with little opposition. Both polls note a DEFINITE trend in supporting the measure.

So, what does this all mean?

The California Proposition campaign is indeed a dog fight which will be decided on the last minute media campaign and Get Out the Vote ( GOTV) efforts. Obviously, the NO campaign is worried by sponsoring an emergency Hollywood fundraising effort earlier in the week.

    Stay tuned…..

Day By Day by Chris Muir October 23, 2008 – Let’s Get Behind This

    Day By Day 102308

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Fox News this morning is reporting a news media deal between ACORN, La Raza and MSNBC.

MSNBC has launched a news project with a variety of left-wing special interest groups to boost their Election Day coverage and help viewers experiencing problems at the polls.

One of the groups involved in MSNBC’s “Election Protection” project is the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now. ACORN has been involved in rampant voter registration fraud across the nation this election cycle and is actively supporting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama for president.

“Our partnership with Election Protection will play a major role in NBC News’ ‘Making Your Vote Count’ coverage, said Phil Alongi, Executive Producer of NBC News’ Election Coverage in an Oct. 22 press release. “Not only will we be able to direct voters who are experiencing problems with a hotline to call, we will also have our team of reporters and producers follow-up on the information Election Protection is gathering.”

When asked for comment about ACORN’s role in the project MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines wrote Townhall in an email “this a question for them, not us.”

What NBC news is actually partnering with Team Obama through ACORN? You mean more than through their news anchors, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann?

    Fancy that media bias……..
