Senator Obama’s call for a middle-class rescue plan comes a day after The Blade published a Page 1 open letter to the candidate welcoming him to Toledo and inviting him to endorse a ‘Second Bill of Rights’ that includes Americans’ right to a job where they live.
Mr. Obama responded to The Blade’s question by agreeing that every American willing to work should be able to find a job at a living wage. But he stopped short of accepting that as a right.
U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D. Toledo) whipped the crowd up before Mr. Obama took the stage yesterday telling them that America needed a Second Bill of Rights guaranteeing all Americans a job, health care, homes, an education, and a fair playing field for business and farmers.
With a possible Super Majority in the Congress, the Democrats can and will push their LEFT agenda.

and what is wrong with jobs,health care, homes,education and a fair playing feild for business. these are all services the government should provide to all americans not just the few which can afford them. since reagan the role of government has shrunk and whole sections of the population have been left out. the public sector has been sold to the private sector and most essential services nowdays are run at a profit and are more expensive.it is wrong to have healthcare ,education,banking,etc,etc in a country as rich as america in which whole sections of the population have been left out.at least obama is doing something to correct this situation while mccain will only deepen it.

Funny thing to me is that the conservatives are the ones who create the wealth and the parasite liberals salivate at the opportunity to tax it away. If the libs are so damn smart, why is it they’ve never learned to create their own wealth? Since we conservatives are such ignorant asses, I mean, and the libs are such intelligent, Enlightened, and caring individuals…

babsey if the conservatives create wealth why is the current conservative government broke. the USA has a 10 trillion dollar debt- record debt. clinton left the country in pretty good shape . it only took eight years of conservatism to ruin america. and now you are using tax dollars to bail out the rich -trickle up effect.

under g w bush half the country have become beggars and if john mccain wins the election the other half will.

the wealth has been funnelled to the top 2% of the workforce. twenty years ago a CEO was paid about 12 times the amount than the average worker, now that figure is 43 times. the average worker has missed all the growth of the last decade but not the CEOs. add the spiralling costs of living partly due to privatisation of public assests where services are now run at a profit , it has hit the middle class greatly.what is now happening to america with this financial crisis is as obamas says ‘the final verdict on reaganomic and conservatism’. but just like il jong kim in north korea some people can’t see there ideaology sucks even as the country crumbles they are blind.
i bet babsy your one of those conservatives who support policies which will effect the lower class[make them pooer], but you think thats o.k ‘as long as i put $10 in the poor box, i’m still going to heaven’.

What makes you think the conservatives are going to bust their ass to pay all those taxes to Nobama? Conservatives create wealth and libs, well…., all they can do is beg for it. Not once in our exchanges have you mentioned what a genius you are at creating wealth. I know why: Because you can’t create. I have plenty of substance. What is mine is mine. What is yours is yours. Except The One thinks that what I own is his to take and I am selfish to want to keep it. You know: From each according to his ability and to each according to his needs. You’re just like him. He can’t produce and neither can you. That’s why you wish to tax the producers. You can’t earn it on your own so you have to steal it from others. Got that?

must be really cool having a rich daddy and not ever having to worry about money.firstly not all producers are conservatives.barack obama is sucessfull in his own right and doesn’t need your wealth to survive. the difference with obama is he see how the bush tax cuts are only helping the rich not the middleclass.the trickle down effect you conservatives believe in just does not work to make all of america prosper. you must be blind not to see that conservatism has created a underclass which is now sucking in the middle class. and that is the reason why a blackman in a racist country will end up being president. if obama was white he wouldn’t have to do a thing to win because you conservatives have ruined the country and now you’ll have a democrat leader for over a decade.so get use to it. got that.
