Video: How Obama Got Elected – Interviews with Obama Voters

www.HowObamaGotElected.com by John Ziegler looks at how media coverage of the 2008 election impacted what Obama voters knew (or thought they knew) about the campaign.

Ed Morrissey has a summary of some of the stats.

  • 57.4 could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
  • 81.8 could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
  • 82.6 could NOT correctly say that Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
  • 88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
  • 56.1 % could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing). And yet…..
  • Only 13.7% failed to identify Palin as the person their party spent $150,000 in clothes on
  • Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
  • And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
  • On the last point, though, Palin was the only candidate from Alaska.  Palin did state that one could see Russia from the state as an answer to an interview question about her foreign-policy credentials.  I don’t believe that the survey gave Fey as a choice, so Palin would have been the obvious answer from those provided.

Well, we now know where many Americans receive or don’t receive their news, now don’t we?

Answer: SNL and Comedy Central

These stats may be amusing but they should scare the hell out of all citizens. What happened in civics class last year. Or maybe civics class has been eliminated. I say elect Tina Fey next time and at least we’ll all go down laughing.

This whole scenario is damn scary! As far as I’m concerned the education system has led the way to public ignorance of how to THINK! Has anyone learned how people are led to Fascism through apathy and the politically correct crowd? It’s been a snowball rolling down a hill since the early the early 50’s and is finally manifesting in full force! What is big brother going to do for us other than repress our freedom? Parents, give your kids a break and teach them the historys of repression, because it’s certainly not being taught in our schools!
