Tom McClintock WINS California Congressional District 4?

    Tom McClintock Election Night 2008

Tom McClintock lead in his race against Democrat Charlie Brown surged late this afternoon and he may have locked up victory in California Congressional District 4.

State Sen. Tom McClintock’s campaign on Friday surged to nearly a 1,800-vote lead in the tight congressional battle against Democrat Charlie Brown, perhaps sealing victory in the foothill district.

“We’re not claiming victory, but we just think it’s mathematically impossible for (Brown) to win,” said Bill George, spokesman for McClintock.

George said the thousands of Placer County votes tallied Friday stretched McClintock’s lead from barely 300 votes to 1,793, with only about 4,500 more votes to count in the nine-county district.

Brown spokesman Todd Stenhouse said Brown would not concede, noting that thousands more votes remain to be counted, most of which are provisional ballots that “have been breaking very, very strongly for Charlie.”

“We remain committed to the same goals that we’ve been committed to all along and that is that every vote is counted in this historic election,” Stenhouse said.

McClintock who has been in Washington D.C. attending freshman orientation will return to California this evening or tomorrow in all likelihood with a new job – member of Congress.

    Stay tuned…….

Will General James Jones Be Barack Obama’s National Security Advisor?

Retired Marine General James Jones on Meet The Press, September 10, 2007 discussing the Iraq War

    Perhaps.

A pretty good sign for hawks, a pretty bad sign for doves — word is that Retired Marine Gen. James Jones, who made an appearance with John McCain during the campaign, appears to be Obama’s pick for National Security Adviser. It was never clear about whether the appearance represented an actual or merely de facto endorsement, it did quash buzz that Jones was a potential running mate for Obama.

With Hillary Clinton’s appointment at State, Robert Gates apparently staying on at Defense, Eric Holder as the Attorney General and some of the other Clinton Administration retreads, the LEFT must be going NUTS today.

President-elect Barack Obama has moved to the center in appointing his cabinet.

    Is this change?

Hillary Clinton to Accept Secretary of State

    hilllary-to-accept-sec-of-s

Hillary Clinton will accept President Obama’s appointment as the next Secretary of State, according to the New York Times.

Hillary Rodham Clinton has decided to give up her Senate seat and accept the position of secretary of state, making her the public face around the world for the administration of the man who beat her for the Democratic presidential nomination, two confidants said Friday.

Mrs. Clinton came to her decision after additional discussion with President-elect Barack Obama about the nature of her role and his plans for foreign policy, said one of the confidants, who insisted on anonymity to discuss the situation. Mr. Obama’s office told reporters Thursday that the nomination is “on track” but Clinton associates only confirmed Friday afternoon that she has decided.

“She’s ready,” said the confidant. Mrs. Clinton was reassured after talking again with Mr. Obama because their first meeting in Chicago last week “was so general,” the confidant said. The purpose of the follow-up talk, he added, was not to extract particular concessions but “just getting comfortable” with the idea of working together.

A second Clinton associate confirmed that her camp believes they have a done deal. Senior Obama advisers said Friday morning that the offer had not been formally accepted and no announcement will be made until after Thanksgiving. But they said they were convinced that the nascent alliance was now ready to be sealed.

The Obama Adminsitration plus the Clintons. Now, the next four years will be REAL interesting.

The next Clinton scandal will be in 3…….2……..1.

Hillary’s replacement/appointee in the Senate will be either Andrew Cuomo or Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. who will have to stand in a special election in 2009. This leaves Rudy Giuliani to go one on one against David Patterson for New York Governor in 2010.

OUTED: A California Democrat Assemblywoman Who SUPPORTED Proposition 8 – Wilmer Amina Carter

    wilma-carter

And, the Democrat Assemblywoman from the Inland Empire of California did not sign a friend of the court brief urging the California Supreme Court to overturn Proposition 8 either.

Carter, in a recent interview, said she voted for Prop. 8 and disagrees with her colleagues’ actions.

Many of her constituents also supported the initiative, she said.

“It primarily stems from my constituents but also from deep religious convictions,” Carter said. “Since I represent my district, I didn’t sign on to it.”

Flap wonders if the Rialto Democrat Assemblywoman will be the subject of protests by the opponents of Proposition 8 – supporters of gay marriage?

Will homosexual activists target Carter in the Democrat primary election in two years?

Obama NOT Rushing to Repeal Gay’s in Military – Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Policy

President Obama is not apt to repeat Bill Clinton’s mistakes, now is he?

President-elect Barack Obama will not move for months, and perhaps not until 2010, to ask Congress to end the military’s decades-old ban on open homosexuals in the ranks, two people who have advised the Obama transition team on this issue say.

Repealing the ban was an Obama campaign promise. However, Mr. Obama first wants to confer with the Joint Chiefs of Staff and his new political appointees at the Pentagon to reach a consensus and then present legislation to Congress, the advisers said.

    Let’s see the advantages:

    1. He keeps his homosexual constituency on hold while he collects campaign contributions from them.

    2. Obama attaches his new pro-homosexual military policy to an appropriations bill so the Democrats in Congress do not have to vote separately on this issue exposing them to electoral scrutiny.

    3. Did Flap mention the campaign contribution part and the “MILKING?”

California GOP Legislators to Vote To Triple Motor Vehicle Tax?

This supposed “DEAL” is NOT going to happen.

Reporting from Sacramento — State lawmakers began moving toward a deal this week to close California’s deficit with the help of steeper car fees that would cost many drivers hundreds of dollars annually, according to people involved in budget talks.

Under the plan, GOP lawmakers — most of whom have signed anti-tax pledges — would vote to triple the vehicle license fee that owners pay when they register their cars every year in exchange for a ballot measure that would impose rigid limits on future state spending. Motorists’ annual license fees would rise from 0.65% of the value of their vehicles to 2%. For a car or truck valued at $25,000, the increase would be $336.

Flap has heard from a California Republican Legislator who blasts this deal as a “liberal/L.A. Times rumor.”

California Gay Marriage Proponents Organize Boycott Against San Diego Storage Company Over Proposition 8 Donations

Californians Against Hate Web Ad: Terry Caster and his family gave $693,000 to take away the rights of same sex couples to get married.

Californians Against Hate have launched yet another boycott against a California business whose owners donated to the Yes on Proposition 8 campaign.

A San Diego nonprofit known for organizing protests against Proposition 8 supporters is calling for a boycott against a San Diego-based storage company.

Californians Against Hate has launched a statewide “virtual boycott” of A-1 Self Storage, owned by Terry Caster, who gave nearly $700,000 to support the gay-marriage ban that prevailed at the polls Nov. 4.

Fred Karger, head of Californians Against Hate, said the boycott is virtual because it will be promoted through blogs and social and business networking sites. His group organized a boycott against the downtown Manchester Grand Hyatt, owned by Proposition 8 supporter Doug Manchester, and a phone campaign against A-1 Self Storage.

More harassment and intimidation from the homosexual community as they prepare for a repeat election to overturn the gay marriage ban voted into law on November 4th.

It is likely that California Proposition 8 will not be overturned on state constituional grounds and gay marriage supporters wish to discourage donors to the 2010 effort to reinstitute gay marriage.

What better way then to publicly shame and financially hurt the businesses?

Polling is unclear whether Proposition 8 protests are effective in helping their cause. These types of boycotts also risk a voter backlash and portray gay marriage supporters as “sore loser” bullies.

    Day By Day 112108

Day By Day by Chris Muir

Barack Obama since the election has been AWOL on the dire economic conditions confronting America. But, then again, he did not have a prescription for a turn around before the election either. And, the media did not press him on it.

President-elect Obama has to remember that he won the election and that on January 20th he no longer can spin, evade issues and blame Bush.

Is this why Barry is appointing so many Bill Clinton Administration retreads who actually know how to govern?

    Answer: Very likely.
