Remember the Flap.
Well, Marjorie Christiffersen has resigned her positon as a manager of the restaurant and from the restaurant’s board of directors (via M/M).
As of Saturday evening, Marjorie Christoffersen was no longer employed at El Coyote, Frontiers magazine reported Monday on its website. Bill Schoeppner, a fellow manager at El Coyote, told Frontiers that Christoffersen tendered her resignation that night. Christoffersen, described on the El Coyote website as the “matriarch” of the 77-year-old restaurant, will also be resigning from the restaurant’s board of directors.
The trouble began last month when local bloggers uncovered Christoffersen’s donation. Christoffersen is a Mormon. A November 12 press conference intended to defuse the anger of the restaurant’s gay clientele backfired when Christoffersen refused to apologize for the donation and said she would not financially support efforts to repeal Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage in California. It’s been reported that gay and lesbian business at the Mexican eatery has dropped precipitously since then.
“Everybody is kind of used to her walking around the restaurant with a water pitcher going from table to table to table,†Schoeppner told Frontiers about Christofferson. “I guess that part is no longer going to exist.â€
Hope the gay marriage bullies are happy. They drove away a woman who gave a pawltry $100 to the Yes on 8 campaign and rather than renounce her true feelings on gay marriage quit her association with a restaurant that has been in her family for generations.
Flap has speculated that the family will sell the restaurant that is located just south of the West Hollywood (homosexual area) of Los Angeles. and which employees a majority of staff that are homosexual.
Maybe they can find a gay owner who will take it off the family’s bigoted hands?

Former Republican Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele and candidate for Chairman, Repubican Natonal Committee
David Brody over at CBN News has some good video and interview of Michael Steele.
Michael Steele, one of the leading contenders for Republican National Committee Chairman tells The Brody File that his conservative critics need to “wake up†and get over the fact that he once played a role in the centrist Republican Leadership Council.
The Brody File interviewed Steele one on one this morning. Watch his animated answer above and read a partial transcript below. To get his full comments and the emotion behind the words, you really need to watch the clip.
Flpa likes Steele and thinks he has the RIGHT STUFF to lead the GOP forward. the other candidates although good Republicans do not possess the experience in public office and in running a party like Steele.
Steele’s conservative cred is impeccable, despite what some others may be saying to discredit him.

Eric Holder walks with Caroline Kennedy on Capitol Hill in Washington. Holder is President-elect Barack Obama’s Attorney General Designee, June 25, 2008
The LEFT says Thanks But No thanks to Caroline Kennedy replacing Hillary Clinton as U.S. Senator from New York.
It’s a truly terrible idea.
Her leadership could have been really helpful when the rest of us were trying to keep the progressive lights on and getting the stuffing beaten out of us by a very well-financed right wing for the past eight years. But when things were tough, she was nowhere to be found.
Thanks Jane. The last time you were involved with Democrat Ned Lamont, Joe Lieberman won.
Guess Caroline can start measuring the drapes.

Former California Governors Jerry Brown, George Deukmejian, Pete Wilson and Gray Davis
Former Democrat Mayor of San Francisco and Assembly Speaker Willie Brown seems to think Jerry Brown is a go as a REPRISE California Governor – despite Senator Dianne Feinstein’s intentions.
Then, in walks Jerry Brown and his wife and campaign manager, Anne Gust, and Joe Trippi – Howard Dean’s guru of online campaigning. A few minutes later Peter Coyote walks in.
Jerry was singularly focused on Dianne Feinstein. Every other line was an inquiry about my assessment or Rose’s assessment or Peter’s assessment or anyone else’s assessment about Dianne’s candidacy for governor.
He didn’t seem at all worried about Gavin Newsom.
Finally I asked Jerry, “Are you really deadly serious about running for governor?”
“I am, I am,” he said.
So I told him: “Then you should announce. Make it serious.
“Dianne is not going to run in a crowd of people,” I said. “Newsom is already in and John Garamendi is in. If you add your name to that list, Dianne will announce her chairmanship of the Senate Intelligence Committee and stay in Washington.”
And, Brown’s former chief of staff and recalled California Governor (replaced by Arnold Schwarzenegger) Gray Davis is fundraising for Jerry.
Davis sent a note last week inviting donors to a reception he is hosting at his home for Brown this Tuesday.
“Jerry has done a great job as California’s attorney general,” Davis wrote to invitees. “Please join us in supporting his re-election campaign.”
Donors are asked to give from $2,000 to the legal maximum of $12,000.
Officially, the money raised must go toward Brown’s reelection campaign for attorney general.
But Brown, who served two terms as governor before term limits were in place, is making noise about running for the state’s top office again. And any funds he raises for his reelection campaign can easily be transferred to a run for governor. Brown has already stripped his 2010 campaign account title of any reference to attorney general. It’s simply “Jerry Brown 2010.”
Flap knows that Jerry Brown is a GO unless his health fails. But, will a retread Brown be able to beat either Steve Poizner or Meg Whitman?
Stay tuned……

And, remember Barbara Streisand’s class (LESS) remark:
Barbra Streisand got an awkward kiss on the cheek from the president, and yes, she gave him a smooch back. Streisand, a vocal critic of President George W. Bush, was a guest Sunday at the White House just before one of Washington’s few A-list events: the Kennedy Center Honors.
“Art transcends politics this weekend,†the longtime Democrat said beforehand. Still, she said it would have been “lovely†if she could have received the award while President-elect Barack Obama was in office.
It was more like a peck, anyway.

The Tribune Company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy today.
The company that owns the Los Angeles Times, KTLA Channel 5 and the Chicago Tribune filed for bankruptcy protection today, seeking relief from $12 billion in debt that largely stems from last year’s leveraged buyout of the media firm.
Tribune Co. directors approved the action to seek Chapter 11 protection in a meeting today, saying they want to restructure payments to banks and other creditors, following real estate magnate Sam Zell’s purchase of the company last year.
Reportedly Zell will sell the Chicago Cubs to reorganize the company.
Flap would think baseball is more viable business-wise than the Tribune newspapers – hell, sell them instead.
When does Tribune apply for their government bailout?
