What is the Obama-Blagojevich Relationship?; Update: Obama Aide Says Axelrod Misspoke

    +++++UPDATE:+++++

An Obama aide now says:” “What the president-elect said today is correct, David Axelrod misspoke.”

Open exit question: But, when did they last speak and does the FBI have it on tape?

Barack Obama’s senior adviser David Axelrod’s appearance on Fox Chicago Sunday. (November 23, 2008). In the video Axelrod contradicts today’s Barack Obama statements that he had no contact with the Governor or his staff regarding the appointment of a replacement U.S. Senator for Obama’s former seat that he vacated when he won the Presidency

There is MORE of a relationship than President-elect Obama lead ANYONE to believe in his statements regarding the arrest of Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich on corruption charges.

Read the entire piece for the sordid history of Obama and Hot Rod Blagojevich.

Flap knew the scandals about  “The One” would start to filter out from the “IN THE TANK” media AFTER the election.

So, President-Elect Obama what WERE your conversations with the Governor about replacing you in the United States Senate?

The Republican National Committee Chairman, Mike Duncan, today issued the following:

“Leaders of both political parties have a responsibility to clearly condemn the actions by Governor Rod Blagojevich as alleged by federal prosecutors today. Americans expect strong leadership, but President-elect Barack Obama’s comments on the matter are insufficient at best. Given the President-elect’s history of supporting and advising Governor Blagojevich, he has a responsibility to speak out and fully address the issue.”

Exit question: What if United States Attorney, Patrick Fitzgerald, has Obama or Obama senior staffers on tape discussing the matter with Hot Rod?

California Proposition 8 Aftermath: Day Without A Gay

    Day-Without-Gay

Don’t think this protest over the passage last month of California’s Proposition 8 which restored the traditional definition of marriage (one man and one woman) will have any legs or many protesters.

More symbolism over substance because even some homosexuals do NOT agree with the idea that  homosexual rights necessarily spills over to gay marriage.

The homosexual community is already backing away from the protest before it even starts.

As for the broader call of boycotts, Prop. 8 opponents say success or failure can’t be measured by numbers.

“It’s organic, it’s visceral, it’s grass roots and net roots,” said State Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, who spoke at the November rally at City Hall. “People are reacting in a very natural way to having their rights taken away by an unconstitutional proposition.”

Leno’s schedule Wednesday starts with a budget subcommittee on health and human service issues. “Though I’m respectful of the day,” Leno said, legislative work comes first.

A FLOP waiting to happen because there is NO support.

    Move along……

The Selling of Barack Obama – His Senate Seat That Is

    +++++UPDATE+++++

Matt Drudge SCREAMS:Grand Jury Subpoenas Issued on Rezko/Obama Land Deal

    blagojevich

Dirty and corrupt Chicago politics as the Governor of Illinois is alleged to have committed a quid pro quo of selling off Barack Obama’s U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder.

The criminal complaint against Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich includes the following allegations concerning Blagojevich’s actions (and those of Blagojevich’s chief of staff John Harris) to fill Barack Obama’s Senate seat:

By law, after the President-elect’s resignation of his position as a U.S. Senator, which was effective on November 16, 2008, ROD BLAGOJEVICH has sole authority to appoint his replacement for the two years remaining of the President-elect’s Senate term. During the course of this investigation, agents have intercepted a series of communications regarding the efforts of ROD BLAGOJEVICH, JOHN HARRIS, and others to misuse this power to obtain personal gain, including financial gain, for ROD BLAGOJEVICH and his family.  In particular, ROD BLAGOJEVICH has been intercepted conspiring to trade the senate seat for particular positions that the President-elect has the power to appoint (e.g. the Secretary of Health and Human Services). ROD BLAGOJEVICH has also been intercepted conspiring to sell the Senate seat in exchange for his wife’s placement on paid corporate boards or ROD BLAGOJEVICH’s placement at a private foundation in a significant position with a substantial salary. ROD BLAGOJEVICH has also been intercepted conspiring to sell the Senate seat in exchange for millions of dollars in funding for a non-profit organization that he would start and that would employ him at a substantial salary after he left the governorship.

The entire complaint is here (pdf).

Then, there is the matter of Barack Obama’s involvement with Governor Blagojevich:

Obama Has Advised The Blagojevich Campaign And Endorsed Him For A Second Term:

Obama Advised Blagojevich On His Victorious Gubernatorial Run. “That year, [Obama] gained his first high-level experience in a statewide campaign when he advised the victorious gubernatorial candidate Rod Blagojevich, another politician with a funny name and a message of reform.” (Ryan Lizza, “Making It,” The New Yorker, 7/21/08)

    • Obama: “If the governor asks me to work on his behalf, I’ll be happy to do it.” (John Patterson, “Senator Says He’s Still Willing To Help Blagojevich Despite Hiring Concerns,” Chicago Daily Herald, 7/27/06)

Obama Endorsed Blagojevich For A Second Term. “Obama, who endorsed Blagojevich for a second term nearly 18 months ago, said he’s ready to help Illinois democrats in the upcoming elections.” (John Patterson, “Senator Says He’s Still Willing To Help Blagojevich Despite Hiring Concerns,” Chicago Daily Herald, 7/27/06)

    • Obama: “We’ve got a governor in Rod Blagojevich who has delivered consistently on behalf of the people of Illinois.” (Deanna Bellandi, “Illinois Democrats Talk Unity But Don’t Show It,” The Associated Press, 8/16/06)

Exit Question: Now, will the MSM press start to more thoroughly investigate Barack Obama’s Chicago political background i.e. Tony Rezko et. al.?

NBC Saves Jay Leno and WILL Cut Other Programming

Battle of the Jaywalk All-Stars Part II, December 3, 2008

NBC will offer up the 10 PM programming slot to Jay Leno this summer as he leaves the Tonight Show to Conan O’Brien.

NBC appears prepared to hand over the troublesome 10 o’clock weeknight slot to Jay Leno as the company barrels through a painful restructuring brought on by low ratings and a bad economy.

Leno, the soon-to-be-exiting “Tonight Show” host who’s been making rumblings about heading to ABC or elsewhere, will apparently do a nightly prime-time show. This will keep Leno in the NBC fold after Conan O’Brien takes over “Tonight” next year.

A 10 p.m. Leno show would be high-risk, especially if the host generates viewing levels no higher than the 5 million or so who tune in to watch “Tonight.” But such a program would presumbly be relatively low-cost and would thus help NBC balance the books in a difficult economic environment. The move probably signals an end, at least for now, to NBC’s ambitious and costly 10 p.m. dramas. “ER” is ending its run this season, and new efforts like “My Own Worst Enemy” have failed to find viewers.

At an investment conference today, NBC Universal boss Jeff Zucker said that the company’s flagship network may trim its programming because of the poor economy.

“Can we continue to program 22 hours of prime time? Three of our competitors don’t,” Zucker was quoted as saying. “Can we afford to program seven nights a week? One of our competitors doesn’t. All of these questions have to be on the table. And we are actively looking at all of those questions.”

This is a smart move by NBC.

They save Jay Leno from being poached by Fox or CBS (to replace the tired and worn out David Letterman) and avoid the high production costs of 10 PM dramas that lately have struggled on NBC.

So, NBC will try this for the summer, much like the original Dick Cavett Show on ABC (of course more light-hearted content) and if it works then NBC can move its one or two successful 10 PM shows like Law and Order SVU to to other time slots and fill their schedule.

    • Sarah [Palin] was in another room, and they said that she was sleeping when we arrived. And so, we got a little bit of footage of Sally [Heath] holding Trig, and Chuck [Heath] standing next to her. And Bristol [Palin] was in there, and I said to Bristol, "We should get some footage of you and your brother and your grandparents." And she’s like, "No I really don’t like to be photographed." And I said, "Are you sure?" And she’s like, "Yeah, yeah, no." And she didn’t have any make-up on or anything, but she was dressed in typical teenage attire, a tight shirt, low-cut jeans, you know, and we had heard the rumors before the delivery of this baby also, that Bristol was pregnant, and so, when my photographer and I got to the hospital and we saw her, I thought, well, clearly there’s no way that that girl just delivered a baby seven hours ago.

    • A terrible fall season at NBC is forcing the network to consider scaling back the number of hours it airs programming, Chief Executive Jeff Zucker told an investor conference Monday.

While NBC will continue to fund the creation of pilots, Zucker told analysts at a media investor conference sponsored by UBS that NBC is considering cutting the number of hours or perhaps even the number of nights it provides programming.

"Can we continue to program 22 hours of prime-time? Three of our competitors don't. Can we afford to program seven nights a week? One of our competitors doesn't," Zucker said. "All of these questions have to be on the table. And we are actively looking at all of those questions."

Anuzis claims he should be RNC Chair because he embraces the web, has a blog, and uses e-mail. Big whoop. So does everyone. And yet, he still loses elections. Why would Republicans reward and promote a loser?

Don't rule his chances out. Despite the hype about Michael Steele (who'd be an excellent choice) and others, Anuzis has the inside track to the 100 representatives to the RNC who vote on this.

Make sure your state National Committee people vote no on Hezbollah "outreach" and Michigan Republican ineptitude and say no to Saul Anuzis. Or you might see a lot of Nasrallah fans lunching with him at the Capitol Hill Club.

“It doesn’t surprise me. Newsweek has been so far in the tank on the homosexual issue, for so long, they need scuba gear and breathing apparatus,” said Richard Land, who heads the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission. “I don’t think it’s going to change the minds of anyone who takes biblical teachings seriously.”
