This is change Americans can believe in, right? “The One” was nebulous about Israel during his campaign and why not let President Bush clean up his own Middle East mess? You know the doctrine of having one President at a time.

But the enlightened European press may be losing patience with the “Messiah” who was to deliver miracles to a waiting public.

Barack Obama remained silent over the violence in Gaza as Israel today threatened to continue its attacks for weeks.

Instead, the President-elect is continuing his 12-day Christmas holiday in Hawaii and was seen enjoying a round of golf.

He joined a group of friends at a private club near his £6million rented, beach-front holiday home yesterday.

Meanwhile, 9,000 miles away in the Middle East, Israel today rejected any truce with Hamas and said it was ready for ‘long weeks of action’ in the Gaza Strip.

Obama will be President soon enough and will actually have to make decisions.

Flap is not optimistic that he can rise to the challenge. A good speech with a teleprompter does not a good President make.

    no US president will rise to the challenge. the israeli lobby groups own all US politicians -lock ,stock and barrell. it has, since the early eightys. when have you ever heard of a US politican disagreeing with the israeli view. israel dictates US middle east policies.
    obama said he’ll take on all the lobby groups of washington but the first speech he made after his nomination was to the israeli lobby and he basically got down on his knees. obama even has an israeli has his chief of staff . i find amazing that a position so senitive could be placed in the hands of someone who is also a citizen of another country.
    the US has become a maxi state for israel.

    Anyone who expected a member of AIPAC to actually change anything to do with foreign policy is stupid.

    Obama listens to exactly the same Jews who have run the US for a decade.

    The 2 biggest terrorist nations on earth are working together and have done for years.

    Until Israel is demolished nothing will change.
