Michael Steele, RNC Chairman Race and The GOPAC Push Back
Michael Steele GOPAC mailer
Former Maryland GOP Lt. Governor and Fox News Contributor Michael Steele is involved in a tough race for the RNC Chairmanship.
Every Republican activist Flap knows seems to like Michael Steele but not necessarily for the day to day operations of the party apparatus. Everyone acknowledges that Steele will make a great spokesperson for the GOP, particularly on television and talk radio. But, are the nuts and bolts of the party outside his expertise?
These two mailers to Republican National Committee Members seem to address this criticism.

GOPAC Donors should be outraged! This is so unethical. What candidate would use an organizations donors to pursue the Chairmanship of another?
So am I correct to assume that if Steele becomes Chairman he will use RNC money to pave the way for his next position? What nerve. Steele is a paper tiger and he will stoop to any level to find a paying job….especialy since he will soon be unemployed except for FOX!

Well, Fox is a pretty good gig if you can get it.

I think Michael Steele is what the republican party needs. The party needs to return to Reagan Conservative values or curl up and die.

Now is not the time for a word war erupting between Limbaugh and Michael Steele. I agree with almost 80 percent of what Rush says — and he does not change his tune, but stays on the conservative message. Newt was right when he said the Repulican party was now part of the Democratic party, but the right side. Reagan’s core values still exists in this country with most Americans. They are being “free-loaders” letting everyone else do the work to keep these values front and center with no compromises. Limbaugh and Steele should look united whether they have differences or not; this is bad policy and business to start this kind of stuff this early while we all know we need a new and exciting direction with new ways of presenting conservative ideas which will have to prevail if we are going to take back our country.

Wonderful post – I was thinking about a similar article which I will probably still write, but from a slightly different angle. Thanks for sharing this with your readers…Obviously a lot of others appreciate it too!

Perhaps, they both have something to contribute that is why they are involved in this tough race. Many people will have their own opinion with this.
