OOPS: Jill Biden Spills the Beans – Hillary Clinton Second Choice for Secretary of State

Jill Biden and Joe Biden talk to Oprah and Jill reveals too much

So, Hillary Clinton is “The Second” Secretary of State choice of Barack Obama, that is, as Jill Biden sets the Clintons straight.

Appearing on Oprah Winfrey’s show this afternoon, Jill Biden, wife of Vice-President elect Joe Biden, made a verbal gaffe that could land the Obama Administration in some hot water. Mrs. Biden let slip that her husband Joe was offered a choice of either the Secretary of State’s position or the Vice-Presidency.

The potential problem for the Obama Administration goes far beyond the obviously embarrassing revelation that Hillary Clinton was actually the second choice for Secretary of State, however. Promising an appointment to a federal office by a candidate in exchange for support is a crime.

Title 18 chapter 29 section 599 of the United States code is very specific about such promises, and the punishment that goes along with making them.

    Wow!

Joe Biden had problems with his own gaffes but now he has pissed off the Clinton Cabal and creates a major embarassment for the Obama Administration on the eve of their taking power.

It is only starting for MORE gaffes from slow Joe Biden. Ya gotta love it…….

Is it Caroline Kennedy to Replace Hillary in the Senate? Well Maybe

    Caroline-Kennedy-and-Hillar

Flap doesn’t know about this story.

Despite claims that he’s still undecided, Gov. Paterson is “certain” to pick Caroline Kennedy to replace Hillary Rodham Clinton in the US Senate, several unhappy contenders for the job have told friends and associates in recent days.

The contenders based their conclusion on the view that Paterson, after nearly two months of indecision, would “greatly embarrass” and “entirely humiliate” Kennedy, anger her prominent political family and even offend President-elect Barack Obama by picking someone other than President John F. Kennedy’s daughter.

The polls show that New York Governor David Paterson would be better off to appoint the more popular, Andrew Cuomo, the New York Attorney General. And, who really cares about support for Paterson in 2010 because he will not win the Democrat nomination and he would lose against Rudy Giuliani? Paterson will be  a footnote in history in two years.

This story is probably a plant by the Kennedy Cabal to reinforce Caroline’s inevitability – this is REALLY about all that she has going for herself.

Bill Simon to Run for California Lieutenant Governor?

Former Assistant United States Attorney and GOP California Governor candidate Bill Simon introduces Rudy Giuliani at the California Republican Party winter meeting, February 2007 – about 2: 50 into the video.

A California Republican activist has revealed to Flap that Bill Simon will be a candidate for California Lieutenant Governor in 2010.

    Yes, it is possible.

Simon would have a clear field in the GOP primary election and incumbent Lt. Governor John Garamendi is rumored to be leaving the office to run for Governor on the Democrat side.

A team of Poizner – Simon both businessmen promising to revitalize California’s economy works for Flap and likely California voters.

However, Simon has to first set up his campaign committee which at this time he has not.

Shocking Arrogance: Obama’s $170 Million Inauguration

    What-recession-for-Obama-in

Obama’s Inauguration has been financed partially by bailed-out Wall Street executives

    Shocking, no.

    Arrogant, yes.

The country is in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, which isn’t stopping rich donors and the government from spending $170 million, or more, on the inauguration of Barack Obama.

The actual swearing-in ceremony will cost $1.24 million, according to Carole Florman, spokeswoman for the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

It’s the security, parties and countless Porta-a-Potty rentals that really run up the bill.

The federal government estimates that it will spend roughly $49 million on the inaugural weekend. Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland have requested another $75 million from the federal government to help pay for their share of police, fire and medical services.

And then there is the party bill.

“We have a budget of roughly $45 million, maybe a little bit more,” said Linda Douglass, spokeswoman for the inaugural committee.

Come on, Obama. The country is in a recession and folks are losing their jobs right and left. Yet, you spend this kind of money on parties and concerts. And, where does the money come from?

Yeah, some of the the rich donors who are asking the federal govcernment to bail out their companies.

Obama had an opportunity to show some restraint – FAIL.

The Obamathon has begun and the OBOTS of the MSM have begun their homage to “The One.”

Conservatives will try to survive without gagging the next few days as our democracy completes a transition of power from the Bush years.

The Obama adoration continues tomorrow with the formal swearing into office – just another day in the office for conservatives and the GOP.

    There is work to do.

The victim was a terrorist in AQLIM (al-Qaeda in the Land of the Islamic Maghreb), the largest and most powerful al-Qaeda group outside the Middle East.

    • Bush is also facing pressure from conservative allies, who see pardons of former Bush administration officials and some others as a more realistic possibility. Lewis “Scooter” Libby and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, still under investigation for his role in a series of U.S. attorney firings.

    • The price tag for President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration gala is expected to break records, with some estimates reaching as high as $150 million. Despite the bleak economy, however, Democrats who called on President George W. Bush to be frugal four years ago are issuing no such demands now that an inaugural weekend of rock concerts and star-studded parties has begun.

Obama's inaugural committee has raised more than $41 million to cover events ranging from a Philadelphia-to-Washington train ride to a megastar concert with Beyonce, U2 and Bruce Springsteen to 10 official inaugural balls. Add to that the massive costs of security and transportation — costs absorbed by U.S. taxpayers — and the historic inauguration will produce an equally historic bill.

"Why?" Limbaugh demanded. "They didn't give Bush a chance in 2000. Before he was inaugurated, the search-and-destroy mission had begun. I'm not talking about search-and-destroy, but I've been listening to Barack Obama for a year and a half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don't want them to succeed."

    • House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is receptive to the idea of prosecuting some Bush administration officials, while letting others who are accused of misdeeds leave office without prosecution, she told Chris Wallace in an interview on "FOX News Sunday."

"I think you look at each item and see what is a violation of the law and do we even have a right to ignore it," the California Democrat said. "And other things that are maybe time that is spent better looking to the future rather than to the past."

Rep. John Conyers, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, announced Friday he wants to set up a commission to look into whether the Bush administration broke the law by taking the nation to war against Iraq and instituting aggressive anti-terror initiatives. The Michigan Democrat called for an "independent criminal probe into whether any laws were broken in connection with these activities."

The looney LEFT wants to get Bush and Cheney. Will Bush issue a blanket pardon?

    • The metastasization of FEMA teaches several lessons – the first and most obvious being that any new government program, agency or entitlement will always outgrow whatever narrow purpose it was created for. Which is why we small-government types are wary of creating any new ones in the first place. Thus, an itsy-bitsy bit of inconsequential government tinkering on the periphery of the mortgage market expanded to the point where federally mandated home loans to the uncreditworthy came close to collapsing not just the U.S. property market but the global financial system.

If you'd suggested in the Seventies a new federal agency to cope with municipal snow removal in Connecticut, you'd have been laughed out the room. But, with government, mission creep isn't a bug but the defining feature. In mid-September, the "bailout" was a once-in-a-lifetime emergency measure to save the planet. A mere four months later, it's the new baseline.
