Governor Sarah Palin’s Address to the 2009 Special Olympics in Boise, Idaho
Yes, Governor Palin’s remarks above are certainly a contrast to Obama’s.
President Barack Obama on last night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno
Ok, here is the Palin hit on Obama.
“I was shocked to learn of the comment made by President Obama about Special Olympics,†Governor Palin said. “This was a degrading remark about our world’s most precious and unique people, coming from the most powerful position in the world.
“These athletes overcome more challenges, discrimination and adversity than most of us ever will. By the way, these athletes can outperform many of us and we should be proud of them. I hope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special needs community.â€
Flap knows this may be political retribution for this, this and this.
But, Obama’s comment was a MAJOR GAFFE and Palin had every right to call him on it. Now, Flap awaits John McCain to say he has a good heart….one, two, three……..

President Barack Obama on last night’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno
The First Lady of California, Maria Shriver has called out President Barack Obama on his remarks regarding the Special Olympics.
Maria Shriver says President Barack Obama’s joke comparing his poor bowling score to that of a Special Olympics athlete was hurtful, although she is sure he didn’t mean it that way.
California’s first lady issued a statement Friday, a day after the president made the gaffe on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Obama later called Maria’s brother, Special Olympics Chairman Tim Shriver, to apologize.
The siblings’ mother, Eunice Kennedy-Shriver, founded the Special Olympics and has championed the rights of the mentally disabled.
Maria Shriver says the reaction to Obama’s joke shows there is still more work to do. She says laughing at such comments “hurts millions of people throughout the world.”
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s wife is offering some cover for President Obama. But, as I said before, the toohpaste is out of the tube.
This gaffe is now listed as Obama’s number one.

Despite the “Hope and Change” tour of President Obama, the California economy continues to sink.
California’s unemployment rate increased to 10.5 percent in February from 10.1 percent in January as the most populous state’s economy worsened, official data showed on Friday.
California’s February jobless rate far exceeded both the state’s 6.2 percent rate a year earlier and the national unemployment average for February of 8.1 percent, according to the report by the state’s Employment Development Department.
California lost 116,000 non-farm payroll jobs in February from January and 605,900 non-farm jobs from a year earlier, marking a 4.0 percent decrease in nonfarm payrolls, the report said.
The U.S. financial crisis has battered California’s economy, the world’s eighth largest, which already had been slowed by a prolonged housing downturn.
The report noted that only one industry category tracked by state labor market analysts expanded payrolls in February from January — 7,900 new information industry jobs.
Ten industry categories posted job losses between the months, led by construction, which shed 30,900 jobs.
And, the California State Budget even with federal economic stimulus dollars continues with massive $ Billion deficits.
No wonder the Govinator Ahnold is hugging the President.
Help!

So says the latest ARG poll:
Among Republicans, 19% approve of the way Obama is handling the economy and 70% disapprove. Among Democrats, 75% approve of the way Obama is handling the economy and 22% disapprove. Among independents, 35% approve and 57% disapprove of the way Obama is handling the economy.
It is the ARG polling operation which is always a little suspect. But, a below 50 per cent approval level for Obama may signal the beginning of the end of Obama’s popularity. The 57 per cent disapproval by independent voters is especially noteworthy.

President Obama made a “tasteless” remark about the Special Olympics and his bowling prowess.
Here is the video:
Obama has apologized.
But, the toothpaste is already out of the tube.
Is there any wonder why previous Presidents did not demean/belittle the office of the Presidency by hacking around “the Tonight Show?”
Here comes Obama to Ellen, Oprah and Jon Stewart.
How about filming a television reality show, Mr. President?

Day By Day by Chris Muir
Senator Chris Dodd and President Obama have received $ hundreds of thousands in political contributions from AIG and other financial sector firms.
Fancy that.
Now, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and Dodd are involved in a CIRCULAR FIRING SQUAD as each take pot shots at each other casting blame over the AIG Bonus fiasco. In the meantime, Senator Dodd is cratering in re-election polls in Connecticut and some members of the GOP are calling for Geithner’s resignation.
But, the entire FLAP really is a smokescreen for MORE government spending.
Kabuki theater indeed.
